Knowledge is now liberalised, irrespective of where you are.
You can acquire these skills in the remotest enclave of the world. Thanks to tech tools - phone, computer and internet.
It's about the willingness.
The future is in everyone's hand.
while I commend the op write up, stop sounding like a motivational speaker.
you have no idea how it is to be posted to a remote area where you hustle for ordinary water to bath and half the time, there is no electricity to charge your phone.
na for Niger Delta boys village you go dey carry system go dey charge?
if you stay in a city where you can actually enhance those skills, fine. otherwise, this is wishful thinking.
Smeagol89: The first black American president left one big legacy; his administration legalized same sex marriage for the first time in America, he proposed unisex rest rooms. If this is what it means to have black in power, then it's meaningless. He did nothing to improve the lives of blacks expect for the celebrities that trooped the White House....police brutality didn't reduce. He came, manipulated our election in Nigeria and gave us Buhari. He killed the Gadafi of Africa! The day I will start listening to black lives matter, is the day the black man's brutality against his fellow black stops. Statistics still have it that blacks that die from attacks of fellow black is far more than those that die in the hands of police. In my country, Army opened fire and killed several innocent protesters, in my country, if you are not from a certain region or religion, you are considered unfit or a second class citizen, in my country herds men burn down villages, kill women, massacre children and commit heinous crimes against humanity......what moral justification do you have to speak against police brutality, when we do worse evil to ourselves??
I stand with trump
For starter, AMERICA runs democracy not dictatorship you run in Africa. Gay population in US have increased over the years and as a democracy, the have a voice in a democracy. Remember this is not your stupid country where you don't even know your right.
Going further, Obama killed Osama Bin Laden. NATO(you can read on country members) which US happens to be part of killed Gaddaffi. Why pin point only Obama in NATO mission.
On Black lives matter, taking it back home, the US democracy is not like your stuoid country where Fulani men become aggressively dangerous because their tribe is in power, or Niger Delta guys blowing up pipe just because one drunkard from their region became president. Competency is placed over ethincity and loyalty. That earns Obama his second term.
Lastly, I know you must have your reservation about Trump, when he pulls out of WHO and paris club, incite white racist against other race, who do think would suffer?
"Hoodlums have hijacked the protest from us." You said protest is the right of every Nigerian. Hoodlums are Nigerians too. They are protesting the way they know how. Who are "us" you're referring to? Did you define yourselves or those eligible to join the protest? Was it not you calling everybody to join the struggle? Sowore even called the police to join them in the revolution. Hoodlums, who are also Nigerians with grievances now joined, and you said they hijacked it. What is hijack? Did they stop you from doing your own protest? Did they redefine what you want or change the 5 abi 17 points agenda? Part of your own agenda is to release your own fellow protesters arrested. Part of their own agenda is to release their friends that were in prison since (they also thought they were wrongly imprisoned, or no be only them be thieves). You had no leader, fixed group or coordination, and you called everybody to join you. Hoodlums now joined you, and you said they hijacked it from you.
Please stop the joke.
Let's even assume they've seized control of your own protest, you cannot take back control from ordinary hoodlums, and you want to take control of Nigeria from Buhari and the army? Are you dreaming?

You and semiu no get sense.
Every peaceful protest has a way of going violence whether by hoodlums or what have you.
Shops were looted by BLM protesters in the US. South Africans looted foreign shops whenever the go ballistic on foreigners.
And you copied semiu write up blindly and you never reason that this is not usurping the govt or overthrowing Buhari.
This is a cry for accountability of public officials and good governance and nothing more.
valowizzy: I was informed this morning by my source that this recruitment has been cancelled by the presidency! Please, someone should verify the information before I loose it...
if them cancel am, make them return my transport and risk allowance for the horrible emergency travel I had to go through to meet up with the exam time outside Lagos.
600 years for whoever delayed this thing up to this point only for it to be rumour cancelled.
intact I multiply that by 2, 1200 years for all of them.
Let me tender my apology as a full born Lagosian and neighbor of ex-governor Ambode in Epe Local Government.. .
Now, l believe EdonobeLagos true true
I just pray my dear Lagos gets to liberate itself one day soon..
For this great feat, l promise to treat my three Edo colleagues to sumptuous lunch tomorrow..
Congratulations to Edo people!
I Stan!
Who will liberate lagos? Lagos election that is surrounded with Agberos and touts from Oshodi and all.
People wouldnt wanna risk their lives to liberate themselves from the Lagos Landlord.
Plus massive underground corruption going on at the local govt level will never allow it.
Why do you think Ambode lost his primary in almost all the local government in Lagos even in his own local govt in Epe.
And to Tinubu, if at all he has any ambition in 2023, he should just forget it and continue to milk treasury of Lagos, his comfort zone.
And those calling Yoruba people cowards, Yoruba people in Ilorin ousted Saraki Dynasty in Kwara, a dynasty running back to second republic.
They ousted Fayemi, A tinubu stooge in Ekiti and elected Fayose, A psyvho in power. when they realize Fasoye was a misfit, they reelected back the intellectual Fayemi.
Same goes in Adedibu dynasty ended by Ajimobi.
So when I see people here calling Yoruba people cowards, I won't call it illiteracy cus they don't teach you that in school, I see it as misinformation and lack of access to information from your small village in okrika.
Nairaland can be all APC it doesn't change a thing. The gutless and lily livered amotekun riff raffs on Nairaland, in conjunction with some nairaland mods have been given Ize Iyamu the same unrewarded hope they gave to Akpabio in Akwa ibom, Amechi in Rivers, and even Uzodima in Imo. Well, if you must know, this is SE/SS and not SW where one man is determining the fate of a whole region. We are not known to bow to anybody. If Oshiomhole wants to play godfather, he can relocate to Yoruba land where people are ready to play second fiddle and not in Benin where no one can Lord it over another.
The same south east where poverty is ravaging their state is talking because they see political party other than PDP as evil and Godfatherism.
Stay there while erosion wipe all your poverty stricken people from that place while you play your stupid ethnic politics.
Messi, Neymar even Bayern Munich president have all been questioned for tax evasion which they clearly obliged and clear their names, and pay their dues.
A company as big as premier lotto is question for evading tax and what some people are saying here is witch hunting and 2023 election. company that makes millions of naira on a daily basis.
and this stupid lots here are the same people who compare Nigeria to the First world war country. if their citizens are sentimental and glorify fraus like this, will you be lusting after their country?
Nigeria is not such a bad country, but both the leaders and the followers are the terrible people.

suremanpatriot: AMERICA IS A LAND OF OPPORTUNITY. THE SYSTEM ALLOWS YOU TO GROW YOUR TALENT ,THE SYS WILL NOT FRUSTRATE YOU LIKE NAIJA SYS AND YOU WILL BE SURELY RICH IF YOU ARE CONSISTENT STRAIGHT FORWARD DUDE.
have you heard of Ahmed Aubery, the Brenda girl, Floyd George? these are guys who chase the american dream and get killed in the process for being black.
in New York, the black being the minority has the highest number covid-19 death in the state compare to white. that is what you get from systematic racism in the health care system.
Tyler Perry made name for himself, stick to his originality with content that wow his audience and that makes him stand out.
that is the dream and if a crazy cop had put a bullet in his skull for being black, that would have been the end of the dream.
MT: The problems of Nigeria are Nigerians. A simple case study can't be analysed by the so called educated on nairaland. If 1000 people apply for 10 slots, the most transparent thing to do is to count 10 names from the top downward. That will mark the cutoff. Infact 93% can be a cut off mark. If we have many people with the same mark as the cut off, subject them to further examination or interview. This is not rocket science.
Mr Analyst, that's I not how cut off are released. cut off are based on participants scores.
what if all the student score below 60% of total mark, who will be recruited.
and that explains why many schools release their cut of mark after students write jamb exams.
I have heard of a case where dragnet had to reduce their cut off mark to accommodate candidate in a test
legitnow: History is an academic discipline for a reason, its not there to decorate your ignorance.
Both the author of the nauseatingly irritating and roundly unintelligent piece in today's Vanguard newspaper and the editorial board of that newspaper itself are daft beyond redemption.
Maybe we should accept it as given when a drunkard says, I am a Geordie but I am not English. Or I am a Fula but not Fulani or I am Ijebu but not Yoruba.
Some of you confused idiots with questionable parentage should know this for a fact, nobody is stopping you from going back to your father's people in the Sahel, after all the animal that sired you came with Murtala Mohammed's 2nd Division of the Zoo Army during the great war. So some of you that say you are not Igbo may be right, your father was a supporter of APC vandal during the war of 1967-70. The sooner you change your name to Haruna or Usman the better.
How can somebody from Karnem-Bornu say he is not Kanuri? How come Igodomigodo (Idu) that some of you claim descendancy from are bona fide Igbo but not you from Anioma?
Confused morons! Do you know the title of the traditional ruler of Igbo-Ukwu is Idu? As in Idu descended from Igodomigodo. Maybe people from Igbo-Ukwu are not Igbo. Ndi ara!
bigfish3k: Be deceiving your self Does Lagos have centralized sewage disposal system, centralized cooking gas distribution system, standard waste disposal system, portable water system, 24/7electricity, street lights that always work, good drainage, wide roads with parking space along its stretch, agbero free roads etc. Let me just stop here because I just don't understand your basis of comparison of Lagos with the first world countries
lack of exposure to modern facilities has made the mediocrity we see here a norms.
Why Ronaldo left isn't the problem. How is the focus here. Ronaldo would have been branded a failure if he left without winning three UCL trophies in a row or any at all. Recall Messi had bragged at the start of the season that the UCL is returning to the Camp Nou?
Question: Would Messi be fighting to leave if Barcelona won the Champions League? Would Messi be fighting to leave if the scoreline was just 0-2 and not 2-8?
Bayern Munich has no respect. If they were gentle with Barcelona, this episode won't be happening. But this isn't the first time Messi is running or quitting after losing. It isn't even the third sef
it is you who need to reason the urge you are using to shalaye.
Messi is leaving not because of the 8-2 or going trophyless. he is leaving because of the disrespect to his colleagues who are thrown out of the club because of a bad season and the manner the are going about it.
same Barca messi lost 7-0 there to the same Bayern and he never saw the urge to leave then.
what he stands for is loyalty to his boys who they both conquer Europe together not your obsession with the humiliating score line
DapperGuy: In other words, Brazil and India are not better than Nigeria? And your reasons at that India has slums & its citizens work abroad and Brazil is battling corruption.
Both countries are amongst the top 10 economies in the world, and yet they are not better than Nigeria.
just so you know, there is a discrepancy in correlation between economy index and standard of living.
Nigeria is the best economy in Africa as of last year. does that make us better than South Africa?
golddare: Maginalising women for over a century in the name of culture, any culture that doesn't have human face all over Nigeria must be abolished. Another one is that of Edo that gives everything to the first son, imagine that.
the Igbos are very weird people. met a guy from Anambra. during our conversation, dude told me he cannot build house in his village because of his "village people". said he had to appease some kind of village Demi Gods before he leaves every December.
how can you discriminate against your own child just because she is female and the selfish thought that she will share the inheritance with her husband. what of her kids? is the property not theirs too?
MrColdsweat: You yarribastards have killed the thread with your Igbo hate.
The reason why this is so, is because by getting married, a woman shares her husbands inheritance.
If a woman is allowed to have inheritance, she will take inheritance from her father, and still share her husband's inheritance.
and so fucking what if she share her husband's wealth. what if her husband dies or don't have any property to inherit. she will get kicked out by her own family because she came from the tribe who gave Adam apple.
But a male child can inherit and will to another woman not from the family. isn't that foolishnes?.
the tradition is barbaric, egocentric and at the same time stupid of the Igbos for all I care.
even if she inherit her father's property, she can will it out all she wants.
DapperGuy: India and Brazil are still better than Nigeria. Far better! India is the 6th-largest economy in the world. Brazil is the 9th. Where do Nigerians go to for cheap medical treatment? Is it not India?
Even Ghana is better than Nigeria, not to talk of India and Brazil.
the same India that is full of slump. don't be deceived by Bollywood movies. if you freelance online, you will realize how hungry Indians are. loads of them migrate to Arab countries like Nigerians for cheap labour.
and Brazil is battling corruption in all sector just like us. they had to go in deep debt to safe face when they hosted 2014 world cup.
Nigeria is bad no doubt, but if you wanna mention better country, don't mention those two countries.
and Ghana that was crying when we closed our borders? abegi.
RuudVanNisteroy: Tax collection needs to be taken away from Alpha Beta. It is only in Nigeria private consultants are given responsibility for tax collection at a 10% commission, simply unheard off.
It is the job of the state government Ministry of Finance staff to collect taxes.
you and I know what will happen if civil servants are the one doing that.
the rot in FIRS and Custom is a testimony of that.
RuudVanNisteroy: It is cheaper for Lagos to poach staff from KPMG,Deloitte,Ernst and Young and PWC with tax experience and give them employment in the Ministry of Finace to help with tax collection, than give Alpha Beta 10% commission. It is unheard of for private consultants to collect taxes on behalf of a state.
you and I know what will happen if civil servants are the one doing that.
the rot in FIRS and Custom is a testimony of that.

Don't tie down your capital in a remote village all in the name of building a house. and with 1 million, I don't think the house will be that valuable in terms ROI to you in the nearest future.
what I would advice is try investment with the lump sum, you can try and fail while you still stay with your parent. When you become successful and your lump sum started working for you by yielding returns, you can leave your parent's house, get a nice apartment from the proceeding and make plans for a country home.
I repeat, again, don't tie that money in some village just to please your parent.
