lil nigga? huh? what are you 5? lord have mercy. Dude, listen and listen good, i don't give a fvk about Dangote, got it? I merely gave an example, that must be hard for you to get, i still think you were born stupid. I used him as an example, nothing more, Jeez. We aren't talking about his history or how he got his money, i have no interest in that, nor do i care. This isn't about the man, i used him as an example to talk about the value of his companies. That's all. Why the rant dude? You hate dangote? Go and kill him if that satisfies you, and i will go and chow down on some goat meat. Like i said, i don't care what he is or how he got his wealth, this was never the point of why i mentioned him. Why would he go into RSA and buy their arms industry? This is what happens when idiots get into something that never concerned them. What are you even talking about now? No one said he should buy SA's arms industry lol, this guy is loco Now run along kid kikuyu1: Listen, lil nigga:this Dangote you guys perpetually self-service about REALLY ISN'T AS IMPORTANT AS YOU THINK! We established on the other thread his money came from Executive contacts that gifted him subsidies and monopolies. If you think he can stumble into RSA and buy their arms of industry for a mere billion dollars you're even dumber than the norm on this thread! Gtfohwtbs!! |

Now you are questioning my maturity? might wanna slow your roll dude. If i find something hilarious, that isn't your concern, we are different people, and i certainly didn't argue about the explanation offered,so that doesn't change anything, if it's so common, then perhaps something should be done to address it, so instead of getting your panties in a bunch and talking about me not being an adult about it, might wanna focus on solution instead, until then, it's a joke on those who get tangled, i care less what you think about that. so what's your problem? Jeez. I was the one telling Henry not to start something, , some of you on here get so defensive ssaengine: You don't have to be an expert in military anything. Just be an expert in being a human being. If it has already been explained to you that the parachutes open immediately after exiting the aircraft.... what part is left to be incompetent about?
Are the parachutes in the pic you see controllable? Can a typical paratrooper move himself left, right in that type of parachute? They are simple drifting to the ground. This doesn't require you to be an expert in anything, just be an adult and open your eyes. |

You hit your head? Or were you born stupid? This convo didn't even concern you, are you South African or Nigerian? No. So how about you butt out of it, this was done and everyone move on already. I responded to the other guy questioning if Nigeria even have any company worth 100 million, Dangote does, and he's also the richest man in Africa, not that i care, i don't get to spend a dime of that money with him. But say what you want. And i've always been neutral on here, all i did was made a correction, the guy who made an error in his initial comment also corrected it, and it was done. So who the fvk are you and what do you want? And what is 'Several guys bigger than him"? Bigger in what? belly fat? Boy get the fvk outta here and move on kikuyu1: IS DANGOTE YOUR UNCLE!? On another thread we Kenyans questioned the 'Dangote' mantra. FYI, if it's a question of purely money RSA has at least several guys 3x bigger than him. One is Opp enheimer, check him out before bleating about your Northern money man, conduit for corrupt money laundering and nothing more. His history shows his fortune was made by monopolies in conjunction with your ruling military! AS A KENYAN I'M NEUTRAL IN YOUR REFLEX ANTI SAFFAISM: UNTIL IT MESSES UP THIS THREAD! |

Lol, wanna start something Henry haha. But yea, that's what i was thinking, since they jump from a moving aircraft, colliding in the air shouldn't be a common thing, but like i said, I'm not expert. Sure it's not funny for the guys tangled up there, but i gotta say, it's a bit hilarious to see in pic or video Henry240: The paratroopers were incompetent. The aircraft isn't static in the air. There is space after each jump. It's not as common as the South-Africans are claiming. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Sizzorkay: 5:37pm On Nov 11, 2018 |
Could better spacing have avoided such incident? Just curious, i know nada about military matters lol. But if they jump with good amount of pause one after the other, and they timed at which altitude to open their chute, could that have helped? Now of course I'm sure they thought about all that, just wondering out loud. |

Quite a few are privately held so they don't need to report their earnings to the Nigerian Stock Exchange. Nigerian owned companies in the $100M- $1B+ Dangote Cocharis GloCom These three are in the $1-$10B range that are well known. There are several in the $100M-$1B Zenith Forte oil. Conco Oil. Makes sense bidex111: Yeap you are right, going after them and eliminating those trying to escape but the risk of running into an ambush is higher.
It's either you are defending your base or on a patrol missions and leaving your course/objective mission in pursuit of BHT is not safe.
In these type of scenario, ISR missions are done over such areas in search of fleeing terrorist, then dedicated forces are sent after them. |

You aren't getting my point lol, I meant what ever happened to pursuit? Each wounded terrorist that escape gets to come back to fight another day, eliminating such escape means they don't get to fight another day, that's all I'm saying, and definitely not saying it's easy, its just too often we hear people escaping with gunshot wounds, where are they escaping to exactly bidex111: Look at you..... I can't believe you are the one saying these. These are not culprits neither shoplifter, these are terrorist you are going after. And tell me where are you locking down, the whole Sambisa forest with hundreds of rat roots |

right? hahaha, in most countries, cops will lock down an entire neighborhood just to apprehend a shoplifter, in our case, once a suspect is out of site, we stop chasing them lol. People with gunshot wounds can't get that far, unless they disappear into thin air, I'm sick of reading that silly statement over and over HORRORIZON: I find it hilarious that they always say that they've escape with gunshot wounds. |

But yea, abuse do happen at the hand of some soldiers, not denying that. Anyways, if that's the case, the army should dismiss the dude, and he should even be jailed, money settlement sounds like a civil lawsuit, but it should be criminal one, not civil, after that then she can sue for damages and harm done to her. Is the soldier attached to your earlier post responsible for beating up this lady? If not, why put up his pic there if he wasn't responsible. And soldiers stopped a bus full of people and they just assaulted her? There has to be more to that, you just don't get singled out by soldiers and beat up. And no, not saying anyone deserve such assault, and the fact that it happens shows how backwards most people in that country still are. And as for your threat to kill, tone is down, that won't solve anything. This jungle justice mentality is part of why we are labeled savages . Aren't we saying the same thing? Protection from what? That's what's sad, it's for protection from one another. Hope you get it. And yes everybody dies, how we die also matters. Would you rather be sick and stuck in an hospital bed for 10 months before dying, or die peacefully in your sleep without illness, or be blown apart during war. I think you get my point. What I'm saying is, we humans are sadly still as savage as ever. So yea, it is sad krattoss: either way we all re gonna die someday..

What reality do you live in? If it was Obasanjo's daughter? smh. There is a reason why certain people have security detail, chances are such individuals won't find their loved ones in such situation, that's a given the world over. And why should anyone resign? Who resigned over the random bombings in Europe or the few ones in the US? And why on earth are you comparing our military capabilities to that of more powerful countries. Again, deal with reality, we are not the US. I never said things are good, but think about the idea of negotiating with terrorists, the moment you give in to their demand, they know your soft spot and all they have to do is kidnap more people and make more demands, while they are using that same frequent ransom money to buy arms and the bloodshed will only be prolonged. If that's your idea, then good luck with that. It's easy for the loved ones of such captive to be willing to give 1 billion dollars just to get their loved ones back, but officials who have to make that decision won't feel the same way, because at the end of the day, they must remain objective and not act based on emotion. It's a sad situation to be in, i feel for her, unless this war is wrapped up, many more will unfortunately follow. And perhaps the military should do more in restricting where certain aid workers go, i believe she was an aid worker or something. Situation like this, is where media usually step in, honor such a person, show her pics to the world, her life, what she did while she was here and how she risked her life to help others. I bet that would make BH mad, coz at the end of the day, she was far stronger than they could ever be BabaOwen: Yes, I want the government to negotiate with terrorist and if possible pay them money to release her.
So if it was buhari or osinbanjo daughter that was kidnapped, the government won't pay for her to be released?
Nigerians will always find an excuse for everything, why can't Nigeria be as peaceful as Senegal, Benin republic, Namibia,Botswana etc they will always find a stupid excuse to give about how it's happening in other failed countries like Libya, Yemen etc nonsense
If it was in an European country, the prime minister would have resign,it can't even happen in such countries for terrorist to be operating in their territory.Nigeria is in the league of Somalia and Afghanistan. |

There are two missing ingredients among other things, in making a great nation. The people And the media. If those in the media are clueless and not persistent in their duties, a lot of stuff will go unnoticed. If citizens roll their eyes when talking about corrupt leaders and do nothing about it, e.g holding them accountable, protests, lawsuits etc, in an unrelenting manner then those leaders will simply continue with their impunity. If we are waiting on leaders to be good on their own terms, we will still be in this sad state for another 200 yrs. We are fast to lace a poor guy for stealing 5 naira, but bow to a thief with police escort while carting away 50 million naira, ain't that weird DDGN: 1
THE BASTARDS EXECUTED THIS GIRL FOR HER CHRISTIAN FAITH. WHY IS THIS NOT INNTHE NEWS? There are times I honestly believe this nation is cursed. Its really hard to stay patriotic sometimes. The government don't seem to care. Nigeria has to be one of the easiest place to die. The death of Liman should put the nation in mourning. The flag should be flown at half mast and Lima should be considered a National Hero. Nobody gives a Bleep !! I prayed for her last night. The government is more focused on election campaign. I cannot imagine the magnitude of grief that her family will be going through.
Rest in peace Lima. |

Right? When something like that happen, you show strength, not weakness, unleash hell on them, next time they think about doing the same, the response of the Nigerian Govt would be on their mind, but when you have leaders acting all lukewarm about things, well, stuff will happen. The idea is, never get caught by BH as a civilian, rarely ends well. Odunayaw: Gentlemen I think the Dundees in high places needs to wear their belts on their stomachs!
How long will Boko "threaten" us? The military need to start preparing repercussion packages for Iswap/BH after any atrocity they commit!
examples; 1)Death sentences on the demonic thugs we have in custody 2) Air Strikes & Artillery Barrages 3) SF sting missions
If possible all 3-in-1, they like dirt? well let's give them slurry!

Her death is sad, but stop the ignorance about some perfect country, show me a perfect country where people aren't kidnapped or killed. What do you want the Govt to do? Negotiate with BH to free terrorists or pay them money to release her? How many people will then be killed afterwards? All BH have to do after that is simply rinse and repeat. This is war, it's sad, but this happens BabaOwen: The Nigerian state has failed hauwa liman, she is just 24 years old.
I feel so sad for her and her family. RIP Hausa liman you won't have died this way if you're in a country were things work perfectly.

I'm guessing the one sided reporting is what people too issues with. I'm sure the Taliban has killed dozens of US and allied troops over there, it happens. The issue here is, most people take that figure as one sided because it come across as if Nigeria got whopped while the Cameroonians went home single "Jolly good fellow" DDGN: Why is it so hard to believe the Nigerian army has on multiple occasions suffered casualties? I never said the Nigerian army is inferior or would lose a war with Cameroon in a hypothetical scenario. I'm saying in one engagement the Nigerian army lost 50 soldiers. Why is that so hard to believe? What's the big deal? Same way nobody believed 400 Nigerian soldiers fled into Cameroon until it happened again the very next week. We gotta sometimes keep an open mind and cut political correctness. Nigeria has strengths and weakness, as those the other belligerent. With Nigeria it's superior firepower and manpower, with the other it's superior training and infantry...but this shouldn't be much of a surprise, it's far easier to kit a small army than a large one. Unlike Great Britain, France maintains close military ties with it's former colonies..especially in the military spectrum. Some infantry support systems we buy from the West are given free of charge to Cameroon because of the close military cooperation. Don't be surprise if in a couple of years the United States relinquish control of its Reaper Drones to Cameroon.
Nigeria has had so many opportunities for strategic military cooperation with China and Russia and failed to capitalise on it. Even the No Dong missile technology North Korea was willing to sell to Nigeria was quickly squashed due to French and American pressure who brings up this insane idea that Nigeria was secretly trying to build a nuclear weapons program with North Korea. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by Sizzorkay: 10:44pm On Oct 09, 2018 |
Doesn't that make this a one sided story? So we lost 50 soldiers and somehow they didn't lose any? problem is, we don't know that, since that wasn't mentioned, doesn't mean they didn't lose soldiers It's like those constant articles we often read about BHT killing 5 or whatever number of Nigerian troops, without any mention of loses from BH, so when people read that, they take it as if BH won the battle, i call these half baked stories. DDGN: Typical nairaland comment. A rational mind will ask for promo or source, or go online and do some research. But no, you won't..anyone one who's views gone contrary to your is typing rubbish. You allow patriotic sentiments cloud your sense of judgement. To avoid been accused of cherry picking it didn't take me long to find a neutral source.
NEW YORK TIMES
Nigerian and Cameroonian forces fought all weekend and into this morning in the latest outbreak of violence over the small Bakassi peninsula, which lies between the two countries, officials at Nigerian Defense headquarters said today.
The official said long range artillery, helicopter gunships had been used, and diplomats said more than 50 Nigerian soldiers have been killed and a number taking prisoner in the most recent fighting. No information was available on Cameroonian casualties.
https://www.nytimes.com/1996/05/07/world/nigeria-and-cameroon-clash-over-peninsula-on-the-border.html
It should be noted that the helicopter gunships and long range artillery mentioned are likely from the Nigerian army as Cameroon neither operates helicopter gunships or have long range artillery system. |
