Beaf: Whenever it happens, all special forces that come in will be black and will speak Hausa better than the Shehu of Borno. That is the way America operates everywhere, for example, there were special forces living in Iraq for several months before the Gulf war; they dressed like Arabs, behaved Arabic and spoke Arabic. Same thing happened in Pakistan with the killing of Bin Laden (by the way, Pakistan is a nuclear power that is several times stronger than Nigeria militarily).
Boko haram has been seeking US attention, especially with the UN bombing. At some point, America is bound to respond. Abeg jo, that is overplaying americas ability. this is no hollywood movie. who dash them speaking hausa? It will be most likely locally recruited folk that will be contracted to do their legwork. |

Ileke Idi, special forces are chosen to blend in with the local populace, and if that entails using ONLY black US troops, there would be little problem assembling such a force, complemented by native language speaking translators. The Standard of Society is Motivated By Greed Selective Intervention (Occupation). Syria is a country too |

He has no knowledgeable mind of his own, he is not informed and equip with debatable facts, he's not vast and expose, he's not deep, smart and intelligent at all. He lacks quality and reasoning potency, he's lukewarm and doll, very slow and odious. He's not motivating and encouraging at all. He lacks the ability to queue in the right words at the right time- not coordinated, calculated and concise. I am very disappointed, US can not av this type of president. In contrast, look at Obama's hair (and even Fashola), WHITE!! THEY THINK!! GEJs is BLACK, infact a new shade, DARK BLACK!! |

lagerwhenindoubt: It is a sad development for partisan politics in Nigeria - one's loyalty is no longer governed by the party's ideals but by the most intimidatingvisible influence - ACN born from the throes of this young democracy seem to have allowed TinubuGod-fatherism overtake her vision not just for the Oduduwa nation but for Nigeria as a Political Entity. from imposition of candidates at all levels to a complete disconnect with the stakeholders at the grassroots (who matter the most). The question is - was this move borne out of a need for equal representation or because there is a sense that the Captain of ACN Frigate is drunk on power and is nearing death's door The grassroots(those at the bottom) havent really given the leaves (the few at the top) anything to worry about. Not in Nigeria at least. They just go with the flow. |

Reggie2: The political class of today's Nigeria is a creation of post war successive military ruler-ship which created a wealthy group of phantom politicians. The same people still occupy the seats of both the Senate and Reps with exception of a few. The same political parties, manifestos and slogans are still the same when Nigerians went to the pools in the last election. I am quite surprised that no one seem to question our Generals who suddenly become super rich and are now seen as the best candidates to move the country forward.
I do not believe that tongue lashing, disrespect and share bigotry are the best bets for balanced information dissemination in Nigeria. Let me just say my own like this in conjunction, These phantom politicians form the majortiy of the PDP. And for anybody out there with high hopes, its the party to belong to. Atiku tried it but discovered its a lonely place out there. So he wriggled himself back in. But clearly, the memos had been passed before the primaries and Atiku's copy went to his Spam folder. They had already assessed their Options, IBB will be too much for them to handle, so Gusau and others and with Atiku's recent exploits, he couldnt be trusted. Hence they chose someone who sadly (and with all due respect) they knew would dance to their every dictated tune. Their machinery is very potent i tell you. it is far reaching into the nooks and crannies of this country. i was lucky to be part of the voters registration somewhere in the far and core north as some of us would have it and believe me,the village i ended up carrying out the exercise, i am still yet to locate it on google earth. please note that i had to travel through 13 similar villages to get to mine.During this time, the PDP machinery was very visible but hardly did i see any of the other parties. it was only when they came campaigning in the state capitals. the next lines might generate arguments but Innocent until proven guilty. The reason why sometimes i dont fault Tinubu for what he has to do is that he has recognised the powers of these people. hence the formation and modus operandi of the ACN. Even if it atleast it is still standing there. The financial might of these people is massive. they have direct access to the treasury and loot at will. hence tinubu has to come up with all kinds of schemes to match them. Very remarkable the way he was able to resist Obasanjo (who sadly and disappointingly benefits from this machinery) in his attempts to deliver lagos into their hands |

If Buhari can, He should please try, Silvio Berlusconi is 75 and has been forced to step down. (The comparison is age wise only)
A relatively young northerner like ribadu, el rufai or even shekarau will not do. the north and the cabal to a large extent, wont have as much respect for any of them as they do buhari. i was in dutse when buhari came to campaign. its an experience i wont forget. the turnout testified to how much love this people have for him. i was in the same dutse when ribadu and shekarau and even GEJ came. GEJs turnout was the worst.
Fashola no doubt would be my choice no doubt based on quality, leadership ability and administrative record, but it would be difficult to sell him to the north. the east need to realise that its not by mouth or by claims to right of ownership but like somebody said "making inroads". if they come up with a viable candidate that i can subscribe to that is sellable to the north, if not why not. |

Well poster even though the drama is over and though I almost overwhelmingly agree that you should move on, one tiny bit stll says that you should demonstrate maturity for the girl(assuming you are older). what she has with the other guy are just emotions. Feelings that can die with time. Love is different. It embraces forgiveness and keeps no record of wrong doing. If she was unfaithful and you were faithful, big deal. Most of us cheat on Jesus! Someone posts a topic here and scores of us have the effontery to rain all kinds of insults on the poster's intelligence. Regardless of how baseless the comparison might seem to you, you or nobody has it in any place to abuse the poster. Manners and courtesy dictate that you voice your opinions against in a civilised manner. If indeed the post appears senseless to you, be like some few, pass over!
The poster was clear from the start. CONSTRUCTIVE criticism to which someone kindly and objectively replied going as far as attempting the comparisons in a tabular form!
Rather than take on the research and the opportunity to develop your intellect (particularly for the rather challenged ones amongst us) by comparing these two people in different fields, most of us have opted for the easy way out.Flight! In case you don't know it is challenges like this that differentiate the wise from the otherwise.
Finally, some of us now know who Prof Ayodele Awojobi is thanks to this thread. |

igbo2011: The vast majorirty of people loved Gaddaffi. The west doesn't care about democracy or dictatorship. That is why they killed Patrice lumumba and installed Mobotu. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2000/aug/10/martinkettle
Mobutu destroyed Congo for 34 years. THis happens around the world with killing/overthrow of good leaders and installing bad leaders. Look up Thomas Sankara, Kwame Nkrumah, Salvadore Allende, Omar Torrino, Mossedegh, Gbagbo of Ivory Coast. This stuff is open nowadays. South American leaders stood up so they are growing now. Look at Brazil and Argentina.
IMF/WOrld Bank/ WTO are all used to enslave countries economically. IMF destroyed many countriees economy. WTO makes all the policies benefit developed countries. Why can America subsidize their farmers and Ethiopia can't? 54% of American farmers would be losing money if it wasn't for the farmer subsidy. You need to understand the strucutres.
CNN, Fox News, BBC are all conrolled by Murdoch. Watch Russia Today or Aljaezeera (not as biased). As in, they don't even hide it again |

For the umpteenth time, Buhari had no hand in the violence against people in the North, the NYSC members included and given the shameful embarassments the PDP has provided us since our return to democracy, I think an alternative as was the case before this most recent election would have and do us well. Anything but the PDP at the centre would truly represent a breath of fresh air. So i think Buhari should be encouraged if indeed he is up to it for the fourth time. It is not in how many times you fall, but how many times you stand up. |
