But honestly and sincerely this thing is getting out of hand. This skin/body curve fashion business. Forget Holy than thou attitude. The bible says that if what you do makes your brother sin then you are no longer acting in love
Ladies, you need to check yourselves, what you wear is making me sin!! |

I will never raise my hand against any woman but if one slaps me, what I will do to her; the next time she hears my name she will jump at the front of a moving DANGOTE trailer willingly before I show up. Damn!! You are one cold mother* |

Poster, you better act fast if you want to make a decision so you dont come here crying like some people after spending 3 + x years in the relationship. So if you want to jabo him for this new guy do it NOW and not later when it will become more difficult However also bear in mind that 3years is also a good amount of time invested in a relationship enough for you to know that your bf is not the affectionate type but still genuinely loves you (according to your post). This I think is important. This new guy that you have suddenly developed feeelings for is just momentary. People don't always show you their bad sides first. It could take a while and when you do get to see their bad sides, a few months years down the line, you could either be faced with this same dilenma when another man happens to comes your way or regrets why you left your initial bf in the first place the choice is yours, What a paradox!! Variety is the spice of life yet the devil you know is better than the angel you dont Good luck |

alj_harem: If they are indigenes of those villages and are poor and it so happens that they "have cars"( poor having cars)
then they can issue a special exempted from the toll by giving them a from a sticker for them to place on the front screen of their cars.
the working class living in those villages and have cars can pay the ONE toll gate as I suggested initially. My own is even cheaper than yours two tolls @ N50 = N100 your own is one toll @ N150 |

@crispg Its not hype but I was born and bred in Lagos and in the course of growing up, I kept moving from what part of Lagos to the other. I can tell u that Fashola has done a great Job.
@kobojunkie, people in Lekki are comfortable what the outsiders or less comfortable would term as rich. I live there
I support the toll. Nothing in this life is free. Only that two toll gates at the extreme ends of the length of the road but at a reasonably lower cost of say N50 |
Politics › Re: Occupy Lekki: Lekki Toll Gate Protest-update by Skii(m): 7:31pm On Dec 17, 2011 |
TRUTHTELA: @ Psalmitz, Do not be surprise when they SCREAM about Fashola & his GAINT STRIDES. That's Nigerians for you, THEY LOVE HEADLINES. They do NOT ask QUESTIONS or view issues CRITICALLY &OBJECTIVELY. When Obasanjo handpicked Yar'adua, for his own SELFISH interest, Nigerians, failed to ask questions about his LEGACIES & HEALTH CONDITIONS. Rather, they were carried away with newspapers HEADLINES of how HONEST he is and he turned Katsina to ELDORADO & it's all LIES. When his HEALTH began to fail, Nigerians began to MAKE NOISE. Too little, too late.
When Jonathan said he will run for President. People failed to be OBJECTIVE & did not ask questions about Jonathan. Wikileaks reported him telling the then US ambassador to Nigeria, that he's not capable of leading Nigeria. People did not ask, what LEGACY did Jonathan leave in Bayelsa as a Governor? Rather, we were carried away with SOUTH & MINORITY sentiments.
Jonathan became the president, presently, Nigerians are MAD @ him cos THE CHICKEN HAVE COME HOME TO ROOST. They REGRETTED voting for him. Why now? cos they failed to look beyond the NEWSPAPER HEADLINES.
Why is that Nigerians are not protesting against SUBSIDY REMOVAL?? Cos Jonathan never promised to remove it when he was contesting for the president. It's a BREACH of TRUST. Omo this man you dey yan gaan o |

@phantom phantom: @skii , so in actual fact the alternative is a 'coincident' alternative and not what govt planned to provide initially? Sadly and unfortunately so @alj_harem I think two tolls at the extreme ends of the lekki-epe expressway with as low a cost as 50 is okay IMO |
Politics › Re: Occupy Lekki: Lekki Toll Gate Protest-update by Skii(m): 7:21pm On Dec 17, 2011 |
Not defending the Nigeria Police, but they have a duty to maintain law and order
Peaceful protests are within law and order as long as they are peaceful, but when the protesters started stopping motorists from going through the toll gates or forcing them to join the protests against their will then that is becoming "out of order"
The authorities unfortunately always take it too far as in the case of Libya and Syria and even Abacha |

is it sufficient? NO (still doesnt rob the already existing road of its existence) |

@alj_harem Skii: @Beaf shame on you, you don't even have camaraderie Look at how loud and all over the place you have been because of just this one incident?
To the main subject matter, I think Lagosians (or i should say the protesters) have gotten it wrong. What they should do is dialogue with the government on how to cut down on the price of the toll or on the number of tolls. Nothing is free anywhere in the world.
There is also an alternate route. New market road. Just that its too thin to accommodate the traffic going in either direction
How I wish this protesters could save their energies for the slowpoke at the centre.
@Truthtela I am with you @kobojunkie Kobojunkie: Really? You mean even though there have been protests, you still come up with this as solution -- dialogue ? WOW . . . where are these geniuses popping up from today . . .
Imagine that, you common sense tells you there is no way New Market road can be an alternative route, yet you suggest that it is sufficient as just that ?? @Truthtela I am with you That is not an admission of the sufficiency the route, rather an assertion of the existence of one (especially for you since you had asked for a confirmation earlier on in the thread) |

Nairaland General › Re: How Can We Overcome Feelings Of Rejection? by Skii(m): 10:04pm On Dec 14, 2011 |
DeeMain: Feelings of rejection is a surface symptom of a deeper malaise. The problem may have deep roots in your upbringing and family. How much secure did u feel as a child? How much love did u feel? How safe did u feel while growing up? How much self-esteem was built into u by your caregivers?
After a broken relationship, periods of pain , grieve, disappointment, hurts are all in order, but when one feels rejected the implication is that the individual was dependent on the spouse/boy- or girlfiend for his or her self-esteem or self-image. Loving ourselves, accepting ourselves - warts and all - is a first step to a stable relationship and being able to move on with lessons learnt when relationships don't work.
Bottomline: nobody can reject you without your permission. Nobody can make u feel rejected. If you feel rejected, then you have a lot of work to do to find your authentic self. To solve the problem of feelings of rejection, the issue has to be uprooted from the roots - your self-image, your neediness, your self-esteem which have been programmed inside of you from events and experiences in your upbringing. @DeeMain, infact I tire for myself, I know I shouldnt blame anybody and the problem lies with me but I feel so full of terrible viruses that it affects my thinking, relationships with people and even God!! They say its hard to teach an old dog new tricks what program do you suggest I use to reprogram? |

MRbrownJAY: @poster how can a guy, already in a r/ship (whether good or bad) be viewed as the "right" guy? shouldnt the fact that he is taken AUTOMATICALLY make him NOT right? i guess YOU are part of the problem if you still have eyes (and time) to evaluate men already in r/ship.
also, i will be bold to say that YOU are definitely the problem if no RIGHT guys are attracted to you (or that you cant find any). if supposedly "wrong" gals can find these guys then how hard can it be for YOU to find them too? lol!
so i suggest you look within yourself (or the place you search for such guys) and fix whatever is wrong in your approach of the issue. It takes one to know one. If there are no good men out there. Then there certainly are no good women out there. Perception is everything |

Loveaflame: Some of you guys are getting it all wrong people like maclatunji and sugardaddy.Their is a difference between marital love and friendship love. You should try and differentiate that. You might love a lady but not for marriage, but solely for friendship. The said lady even got married before me.I was really happy for her while i got married 2 years after.Like I said it all depends on your mindset.Every mature guy should know and learn how to control his emotion. You should make it your SLAVE not your MASTER. Though possible, it is HARD. and i say that with emphasis. we are carnal by nature. no how no how wey the thought no go cross your mind.even once and if you are so mature that it never crossed your mind, then it must have crossed hers. if you watched the video, you would see how the interviewees changed their minds when the interviewer changed the questions. |
