fritiyo:Oh boy, keep telling yourself stories and use whatever excuse you want to use. Jonathan is corrupt, encourages corruption, and is incompetent. Everybody around the world can see that except some blind Nigerians. Nigerian politicians don't even have to try anymore because they have an army of complicit citizens waiting to make excuses for their poor performance. I hope Nigerians are wiser, and if they are not and are stupid enough to vote for a president who has just recently woken up to his duties because election is round the corner, then that is their business and those same Nigerians would be the ones to live with the consequences. Just save the rest of the world the "righteous anger" if by any chance that unfortunate incident happens and you have to endure another four years of no light, high unemployment, corruption and impunity, etc, because by that time the rest of the world wouldn't care and no one can blame them. You see how messed up Nigeria is now? That is a Jonathan record, I don't understand how people who are able to think can't see this. There is no need to imagine what another four years of Jonathan would be like if you are living in it. And 25000km of road someone said was constructed? Do you know what 25000km is? Is this going to be like the "Jonathan has constructed 13 federal universities" lie that could not be backed up by pictures? Keep lying to yourselves. |
Five years as President it is now that election is near that different infrastructural works have "commenced". What about Port Harcourt airport that has been in perpetual construction because the presidency is having childish fights with the state government, have they "commenced" on the arrival hall or are people from international and domestic flights still "arriving" in the make-shift tents that have been there now for the past few years? Only the blind who can't read precedences would be carried away by these last minute election "show I am working" projects. |
LordMecuzy:@ Bolded. That is what I hope most Nigerians decide to do. Voting to continue this rubbish even when you can see it is bad for you is tantamount to cutting your nose to spite your face. |
More desperate vote seeking tactics. Nigeria does not need a special interest president, but one that can fix the country to work well for everybody. A couple of elites from different groups getting juicy positions is not the chaange Nigerians need. |
I am a little lost here. The card readers rejected cloned cards (like the case in Port Harcourt) and they are deemed a failure? |
abokikhalifa:That is not even jogging, it is called walking. |
This is the kind of "democracy" that exists in Nigeria. They must go to jail because they had the audacity to challenge the leadership of Jonathan. Meanwhile Bode George, Alams, Boko Haram, Asari, Unemployment, No Light, Impunity, Corruption involving the administration, all of that should be ignored. What a funny country. I can't wait for this elections to be over. Jonathan is a failure. |
Save the "change starts with you and me" speech, Nigerians are looking for workable solution, not banking on the sudden redemption of the whole populace so they start being the "change" before the people see any meaningful progress, no society has that. Nigeria has endured bad leadership and Nigerians believe there is a leadership deficit and want change in leadership, it really is that simple. |
All this grammar. Is she going to be able to understand it? Genuine question. |
RevDesmondJuju:As I suspected, you have nothing of substance to offer so I am going to move on. For other people who are reading and might still be open to a different Nigeria, I am sure you can make up your minds. A man could not address basic core issues which he campaigned on in 5 years as the president of the country, does it sound likely he would address those issues if given another four years? That same man was also governor of Bayelsa state and yet no one is able to point to any thing he achieved in that state, is that a man that can perform in the next four years, a man who has poor history of performance? No light, insecurity, high youth unemployment, immense levels of corruption, impunity. People who have brains, use it. For the others who don't, carry on as usual, there is nothing to say to you. |
RevDesmondJuju:Address the issues. |
mcdc:But Nigerians need Jonathan to fix what he was voted in to fix and he has failed. Hence the need for change. No personal beef, it is just that simple. It is called democracy. |
koperatemc:The one that is fit and a "youth" as you people like to call him has not been able to fix power, or corruption, or unemployment, or infrastructure, in fact he is even part of the corruption. So what are you talking about? You have brain, use it. |
truenorth:PDP can't campaign based on issues because they don't have a good track record to campaign on. My only hope is that more Nigerians would stop allowing themselves to be blinded by short sightedness and bigotry and start seeing this. The man in power now promised Nigerians light and was promising that to them since he was Vice President to Yaradua. Nigerians gave him the highest office in the land and he has been unable to fix issues but has instead blamed everybody else for his failures, emboldened corruption, and people still think the next four years of him would be magically different, how and why? That is what boggles the mind, and my only resolution to that is short sightedness and bigotry. I just hope everybody shouting change in Nigeria has a PVC and IS going to vote on election day, that is something the opposition need to make sure happens. |
But no supporter of continuity would ever pick up on this. It is one rule for the cabal called PDP, and another rule for everybody else. This same woman said something similar in Rivers State, in fact the opposition has been "banned" from campaigning in Okrika. THIS is one of the MANY reasons Nigeria needs change. It is not even about the crude behaviour of Patience or Jonathan, it is about power returning to the people and them showing their ability to kick out an underperforming President, and a failed party that has seemingly entrenched itself in leadership for 16years and Nigeria is still bragging about 6000MW and no power and insecurity and corruption. Nigerians, nobody can afford to sit on the fence in this election, fight for your freedom with your vote and defend your vote. |
makazona:And you are not ashamed that you are comparing yourself with North Korea. |
atlwireles:If you say so. |
anonimi:The height of insecurity and shamelessness too. Why don't you focus on the thread and if you want to discuss OBJ and Buhari open a thread for that? Back to topic. So are we saying that the pictures I posted are the 13 NEWLY BUILT federal universities built by the preseident of the federal republic of the giant of africa? The president of the estate as opposed to the president of the boys quarters? This is what the estate has produced with the estate resources? |
homesteady:I do, there is nothing hard in taking pictures. I know the kind of animals ruling Nigeria. |
jamace:I took your advice and this is what I got. Are these the 13 new universities that the president of the federal republic of the giant of africa built? This is it? www.nairaland.com/attachments/2023614_FederalUniversityLokoja_jpg1d092e2d90f6e6eaac3306dc82f92213 www.nairaland.com/attachments/2023615_federaoyeekiti2_jpegba11a14e0d0ac680b1c0ebf2073e5722 www.nairaland.com/attachments/2023616_federalfuoyecampus_jpegf178134b9af7b9181059cf32561e6884 www.nairaland.com/attachments/2023617_federalfuoye2_jpeg89c8d8dbf6aa2e94a05880e271230933 This is it? Are there any other pictures? (Source https://www.nairaland.com/2091081/new-federal-universities-built-gej) |
redcliff:Oh boy that is a different matter for another day, I just want to see pictures of these 13 NEWLY BUILT universities first. I want to see pictures of the 13 NEWLY BUILT universities that the president of the giant of africa has built. |
jamace:Show us the one the estate manager who has the resources of a whole estate has done and let us judge for ourselves. Show us pictures of the 13 NEWLY BUILT federal universities, let us see if it is up to the quality of the small tv set the manager of the boys quarters used the resources of a boys quarters to build. Or are the pictures missing? |
customized13:Keep telling yourself that lie. If the last 5 years has thought Nigerians anything it is that Patience Jonathan is part of Jonathan's government and likes to get "involved" in politics. Go and ask the people of Rivers State. APC can't campaign in Okrika because the first lady has decreed it so. I just hope Nigerians don't bottle out and are bold enough to send both husband and wife packing. |
jamace:And yet the boys quarter seems to be better managed and more efficient than the estate. Somebody please show us pictures of the 13 NEWLY built universities that the federal government of the giant of africa built, show us pictures let us see and compare with what the governor of the boys quarters built. |
Page 4 of thread and still no pictures of the 13 NEWLY BUILT federal universities? Post them please let us see and compare , let us see what a whole federal government of Nigeria has built. The federal government of the Giant of Africa. Show us the pictures |
notobs:It is not about talking, show us pictures of the 13 newly built universities and let us compare. Note, pictures of the 13 NEWLY built universities by the federal government. |
PDP has nothing new to offer Nigerians except more of the same - corruption, impunity, and maybe one small token project every two years so it looks like they are working. Unfortunately some people are too bigotted and childish to see it. No right thinking person would vote for a continuance of what Nigerians have had for the past 16 years. Nobody takes Nigerian government seriously in international circles, the only thing giving Nigeria significance is population and oil, that is all. Take that away and Nigeria is just another country ticking most of the boxes of a failed state. |
And this is still considered a party worth voting for? Only in a backward country like Nigeria . . . And yet some underemployed i.diot with no light who has just read that the ruling party was trying to disenfranchise voters would come and shout GEJ til 2019 . . |
Nigeria is in trouble with characters like these. Patience, Asari, Jonathan, Okupe, just many sides to the same coin, and Nigerians need to kick both them and PDP out if this country is to further cement it's democracy, a democracy that has accountability of the government to the people at its heart. |
Yes. This is the quality of debate a party that has ruled for 15 years and kept Nigerians in darkness has to offer. No contrition or proposed vision forward just more infantile commentary. Honestly, people who still consider continuing with the status quo need prayes, it really is that simple. |
Rad1cal:I am not looking for a messiah in Buhari and no I don't expect him to magically make everything better. I do expect him however, to run a better government than the most corrupt government Nigeria has EVER had in the history of the nation under Jonathan. This administration has had more money available to it than Obasanjo and Yaradua combined and yet we are still in debt and have little in the way of savings to deal with the current economic challenges. I could go on but I am ultimately not writing this for your benefit since you are pobably on of those paid PDP hacks who earns 50Naira per word which he uses to fuel his generator and come online to shout GEJ till 2019 without seeing the irony. I am writing it for the benefits of others who might be able to open their mind and think This is not about political parties as such (I couldn't care less about APC), it is about getting rid of an incumbency that has underperformed. It really is that simple. |
