Bekwarra:And how old is Jonathan? Is he a "youth" in your eyes? Some people just reason from their anus, the person you are proposing we continue with is destroying the future of the youth you claim to represent and you are still adamant he most continue. Corruption, unemployment, insecurity, no power, and you still have the gall to come up here and throw that infantile justification in the face of people with basic common sense. |
PDP is a joke they have absolutely nothing to offer to the national discourse, absolutely nothing of value. This is their biggest issue? Bunch of jokers. |
Welcome development. All money we have should be poured into infrastructure and all leaking areas from government waste plugged and poured back into infrastructure. That is what we need to create an environment conducive for growth. Power, security and good roads. No need for seven point agenda, just give those three things. Sure-P is a leak, so it government sponsored pilgrimage, so is government paying militants salaries, and yes, so is fuel subsidy. |
rozayx5:Have you no shame? No power, high youth unemployment, and you are there doing 'our bribe is bigger than yours'. Have you no shame? |
iamrealdeji:My thoughts exactly. Nigerians are not voting for son of the year, they are voting for president an vice president of Nigeria. And considering Nigeria's bad history with utterly corrupt and greedy leaders who amass power to make every member of their family a millionare, I am happy to try an alleged stingy man who would be more cautious with the money we don't have, if that is the question being posed by this story without context beyond a picture. |
If the alleged father was pictured in a 6 bedroom mansion with champagne jacuzzi now people would have complained and asked where he got the money from. I don't understand what extrapolations the poster expects us to draw from this, but if it means the man is tight with money then I say let us have a non corrupt tight with money person in Abuja than the current utterly corrupt spend thrifts that occupy aso rock; that would indeed make a welcome CHANGE. So what exactly is the pont in this story without context? |
One is based on logical reasons and debates, the other is based on infantile attacks on personality devoid of any solid debate, but you can't blame the PDP ones, some of them I believe are actually paid to do it. Just give it a moment and someone would soon come and shout "GEJ till 2019". |
This is simply the vision of Jonathan's Nigeria. Vote for another four years of logic and decency being turned on its head. |
Jonathan will NOT fully implement the recommendations of the confab because he is NOT that kind of a person. This a man who has been promising 24hr light to Nigerians since he was a vice president and even proposed it as a criteria for judging his administration when he was campaigning last elections. People should stop dreaming up track records of performance and achievements that don't exist, just look at the man's track records right from when he was in Bayelsa. Only mentally deranged people will buy this nonsense, when did confab finish? In fact look at his record now, did not make serious effort with Boko Haram till it was threatening his electability, that is a man you want sensible people to vote for? |
So what is going to change in the next term, he is going to become serious? This election is too important for Nigerians to be voting with sentiment when the data and results are out there. Jonathan has not got a history of performance, period. He didn't have it in Bayelsa and he does not have it in Nigeria. A Jonathan administration will NOT tackle corruption or waste or impunity, these are all just vote begging tactics. |
Funny how you see TAN t-shirts and signs in the GEJ side. The ones holding placards for APC are ordinary Nigerians who have not been paid to hold placards, that is the difference. |
This woman obviusly doesn't reason before she talks. It is not even worth picking holes in the things she says, hopefully Nigerians are wiser. |
Brilliant article! It really is that simple. This election is not about a choice between differring political idealogies, it is a choice between corruption, insecurity, unnaccountability, disunity; and something else that might resemble credible governance. Most of the arguments you here for sustaining this government in power for another four years are things like "It is their turn" "Let him finish his own" "He is ordained by God". Nothing about performance or addressing the numerous ignored scandals Nigerians have been assaulted with. Is the choice really that difficult for any right thinking person? If anything this is a chance for Nigerians to break 15 years of unbroken incumbencies that have taken them for granted. Nigerians, choose to believe you are worthy of a change in direction. Choose to believe you are worthy of better governance. Choose to believe you are worthy of any semblance of credible government. |
Even if they beg, that doesn't change the fact that Jonanthan has failed. The most wasteful and corrupt government we have ever had. It is not about begging, it is about aspirations for a better Nigeria. This election trancends lazy sentiments and petty games of one upmanship. |
Randerl: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ?/It is not about reconsidering stance based on begging! Do you think we deserve to give PDP and Jonathan another four years considering the way the country has been run, that is the real question. Imagine a man raping your wife in front of you, but he begs you to reconsider calling the police so you say - "Well I was thinking about it but now you have begged me I will reconsider". Nigerians mneed to start thinking more. |
You don't have to vote for APC or anybody for that matter. If you are happy with the way the country has been governed over the past 15 years and especially the last 5, you are free to vote to continue down the path the country is currently on. Others want to try something different. It is called democracy and that is why we have elections. |
anonimi:And how did the increase in IGR happen, was it by magic? You are not even smart enough to know when you are inadvertently complimenting the people you aim to chastise. In general APC governed states have outperformed PDP states considering the resources available. PDP had failed Nigerians. You can keep shouting on nairaland about paper achievements but it seems people are now wiser. Good luck trying to sell bad product. |
Revolution:WOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW ![]() Watch and listen!!!! |
Good article and salient points raised. If anything, the idea of a permanent shift to a multiple party political space is reason enough to vote out the current party (as if underperformance was not enough). |
customized13:And all I remember were his childish school boy ad hominem attacks, that is how effective a communicator he was with his fancy degree. PDP keeps shooting themselves in the foot by not sticking solely to issues and using thugs like FFK, Okupe, Fayose, Patience, Wike and Asari to try and sell themselves. Hopefully Nigerians have grown wiser. It is not easy to run against a bad record. |
customized13:And with all the grammer he still could not make any point worth remembering. I would take the Amaechi with intonations than the rambling Fani-Kayode with nothing valuable to add to advance the debate. But it is not his fault, it is not easy selling bad product. |
Femi Fani-Kayode, what a child. Could not answer simple questions started shouting about how he knew Amaechi when he used to wear the same shirt for a month. Forget the grammer, only simpletons would be impressed by that performance. All grammer and absolutely no susbstance. |
GovWahala:If you see what is happening as uncommon transformation given how much money the country made then I genunely feel sorry for you i really do, you have not enjoyed good governance or development before so you have nothing good to compare with. What is the current exchange rate again? |
aminashy:But it is okay for a corrupt and incompetent man to govern abi? Very few supporters for continuance of PDP rule actually seem to have any intelligent debate to offer beyond the irrational "Jonathan must finish his term" "It is his turn" "He is destined to lead". Meanwhile the house is on fire, and you are asking us to continue pouring kerosense on the fire for another four years. |
What is stopping him from getting the ball rolling now? Or are we saying the presidency is not going to be doing any work till after elections? What a joker. I will tackle corruption after election, I will improve infrastructure of elections, I will address boko haram after elections, I will do everything after elections. Do people really buy these lies? |
Jonathan, your inability to tackle corruption, insecurity and unstable power is not only scaring away investors, but is stifling and killing off economic growth within the country. Stop blaming everyone else and reconcile to the fact that you have failed Nigeria. |
Adminisher:Absolute nonsense. This is how dictators and sycophants are born. Who are you to decree that no one is allowed to hate their country and how on earth do you plan on policing that? Are you going to be the judge that sits in the court and decide with your expert vision if accussed citizens are emitting the right ammount of green white green love coloured rays from their rainbow coloured hearts? The laws are there for a reason, if you have viable charges to bring against Sahara then do so and stop all the round about, I am sure if they posted something you agreed with you would have been trumpeting their cause as defenders of democracy. Meanwhile what has Jonathan done about the leaked tape from Sahara reporters that indicted Fayose in electoral malpractice, is that a man that "loves" Nigeria? What warped reasoning, you won't go after the people who really hate Nigeria and are running it to the ground, it is journalists you want to go after. And the same people will later shout Buhari is against press freedoms. Someone help me spell I.R.O.N.Y |
It is funny how Sahara Reporters become the devil anytime they publish news some people don't like to hear, but when it is the flip side they are the paragons of all that is noble and decent in journalism. Please people be consistent, after all is said and done they have consistently broken news stories that have proved to be true even before any news paper in Nigeria got wind of it. Sell your hypocricy somewhere else guys |
And I am afraid anybody who believes him is probably a hopeless clown. This man has been promising 24hr power since his days as a vice president. Nigeria needs over about 20,000MW to even have any hope of stable power, and we have been celebrating at most what? 5000MW when it rains? If he could not address power in 5 years what makes you think he would address it in the next 4? If governance was about promises Jonathan would be up there with the great world leaders, but I am afraid we need results and not more empty promises, and if you cannot deliver then we need to try someone else. |
jars9:I knew I was wasting my time with you but thanks for confirming it. What I posted is for more sensible minds to digest and not your lot. Buhari and Obasanjo regime more corrupt because when they were at the helm of affairs oil was selling for over $100 for years right? Keep lying to yourself and ignore all the massive scandals that have gone unpunished in the last 5 years, also ignore the fact that this administration had more money at it's disposal than both regimes you mentioned combined. When election comes the people will decide and live with their choice. |
