Dannyset: They just think everyone is as delluded or drunk on selective amnesia as they are, they really are a silly bunch that no one really takes seriously. Imagine PDP calling Buhari's 5 month old government divisive? Which government has been more divisive than Jonathan's in this current republic, or been more corrupt or exercised mnore impunity? 2 Likes |

Rossikk: I would say we are playing catch up mainly because of bad leadership and poor governance. Colonialism is not to be blamed for everything. In a global sense Nigeria was not the only country that gained independence around that time and left with little to no infrastructure. What is our excuse against the east asian countries? Nigeria was not as heavily affected by the first and second world wars. Other countries had their cities destroyed and rebuilt them, so no I don't always buy into or agree with the "we are not as developed today because of colonialism" no matter how significant a role it has played in the history of the country. 4 Likes |

PDP needs to be replaced as the opposition party, they do not have the intellect for opposition. A party tried to rig presidential election and still lost; brazenly and violently rigged state gubernatorial elections and won temporary victory that has now been overturned, and has the audacity to attempt to make their loss about anything other than a correction of brazen impunity. Nigeria is so messed up that is why such public nuisance is being tolerated, if not what we really should be discussing here is pressing of criminal charges for electoral malpractice. Shameless and useless party that runied the country and wasted opportunities for 16 good years. 16!! The real shame is that more of them are not in jail! 3 Likes |

iterator24: I see what you're trying to do but it really isn't necessary. South African cities have better infrastructure than Nigerian ones, there is no need even arguing it, it is just the fact, patriotism doesn't mean one has to be blind to the truth. And please, Nigerians need to stop defining infrastructure with pictures of people's big houses and the same roads seen over and over again, it is embarassing. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Ballmer: In regards to the part in bold, with all due respect to you, you don't know what you're talking about. SA infrastructure is much better than Nigeria true, but not Europe, to even suggest that sounds ignorant. Take just rail as an example. . . . I don't want to get into this on this thread but do your research. And also explore out of Jo,Burg. It is such a silly statement to make. 1 Like |

I don't doubt that Nigeria has a bigger economy than South Africa, and the economy is highly hindered from growing even faster due to poor infrastructure. Economy isn't just about infrastructure (even though this helps immensely), but population also plays a role. Nigeria has the population (market) and the natural and human resources going for it. Is there room for improvement, yes. And just for clarification, Nigeria didn't just overtake SA economy a couple of years ago, it was bigger before then but not fully evaluated, do you know how big the country's informal economy is? 7 Likes |

Mr 'Talks a lot of nonsense' is talking out of insecurity because he's worried his own turn might be coming, you think people have forgotten about "Ekiti-Gate" and Obanikoro and all that? This has NOTHING to do with APC or PDP, and only vacuous minds do not understand. This is a fight against brazen impunity. melvinjames: So you don't make similar mistake in future as well, go and learn how to draw conclusions. Go and also learn about straw polls conducted and the difference between "I took a straw poll" (figurative), and "there was a straw poll" (implies some use of statistics). The only conclusion to draw from your "straw poll" was - Majority of the "celebratory" posts that caught my attention when I looked at (name inserted here)'s twitter handle, were from people who had Northern and Yoruba sounding names. Note - This is not the same as saying: "Those celebrating Wike's removal are mostly from the southwest and the north". I hope I have been able to educate (for future purposes). Have a good evening. 1 Like |

melvinjames: You are the one being ignorant. Go and read about straw polls are conducting them and come back so we can have a discussion about why you don't know what you're are talking about. You going on twitter of whatever account, picking out comments you didn't like and telling us the majority of the people celebrating Wike's removal are from the SouthWest and North, does NOT constitute a straw poll. And the fact that you are willing to continue in such reasoning really is embarassing. Straw polls are still based on statistics, and sorry to say but your feelings are not a veritable substitute for sampling size and methodology. |

mikolo80: No one is saying don't have a thug and idiot rule over you, I am just saying let that thug be elected in a free and fair election where people are not shot at and slaughtered like sheep for not supporting that thug. melvinjames: And you draw conclusions on important events by the names of people celebrating on twitter? We have serious educational problem in that country. This is how you people were lying to Jonathan that he was loved and would win election. These things are not won by who has the most "likes" or has the most twitter followers. How peurile can you people be? Never underestimate the will of the silent majority. It is like that childish mentality displayed online that proposes anybody not in favour of Jonathan or Biafra cannot be from the East or the Niger Delta, this dogmatism and stifling of plurality of thought is worrying.. . And there was no industrial scale rigging in the whole of the South East and parts of the Niger Delta for Jonathan, giving him margins of hundred percent turnout and hundred percent voting share in some places? You are funny, you think appeal is like garri you just keep collecting from a bag? If he appeals to the highest court and the court nullifies his election it is over. That doesn't have to take 4 years, this one took only a few months. I don't know why you people like telling yourself lies to support what was obviously wrong, do you people have no iota of conscience? The people that died during election, were they not from Rivers State? Someone suported statewide thuggery to force his way into power and you are here making him look like the victim. These are the kind of mentalities we need to expunge for Nigeria to move forward, very backwards. 20 Likes 5 Shares |

mrsmith11: Remove one subsidy for another subsidy? I do not support that or see any wisdom in that, it is very short sighted and myopic. Removing subsidy and using the money to develop infrastructure or improve on the building of more power plants makes much better sense. Nigerians should chill out with this whole subsidy thing, subsidy is not meant to be a permanent situation. Nigeria is poor and has limited finances so you need to prioritise. You can't be asking for everything to be susbsidised for you and asking for magical transformation of infrastructure as well, the money has to come from somewhere . . . . . . . |

That is the Jonathan legacy. Because he was not happy with Amaechi he dragged on a federal airports project forever while others were finished years earlier, thinking he was somehow paying back Amaechi. That is how petty things were. And yet some blind bigoted tribalistic small minded petty idiots would come and give lecture on Amaechi the betrayer and Jonathan king of the Niger Delta.
