Is it a must to get multiple ghost updates before a final decision is reached? I have only received 1 ghost update since my eligibility review started on Jan 12th. Winter 2021 intake, applied nov 5th, got NSE request and sent since dec 23rd, gcms notes delayed for 90days Jan 1st. Patience is really a virtue, IRCC is really teaching me this embarassed

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by sleekcheek: 8:49am On Jan 30, 2021
I like the way u put it, u got delayed. Nice one

mankind5050:
Got delayed too yesterday based on purpose of study. If I were delayed coz offinancial status. I will just pay full tuition and do a GIC of $10,000.
That should remove all though concerning finances

Any link to the thread 13- 16 so I can do some work too and research myself, google is not helping.
I know u don't owe it to anyone to answer but pls help a brother achieve this dream.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by sleekcheek:
You can defer and wait for your PPR without sending the new LOA to IRCC until they request for it and you can also choose to send the new LOA immediately you get it via web form. Either way works

Celoexpress:
Hi guys,

For those that deferred.

Did you need to ask the school for a new admission letter and sent to the embassy ahead or there is no need to or did you need to inform the embassy via gc key portal that you have deferred or I should just defer, no need to inform the embassy, just chill for the PPR then continue with my admission that way.

School needs me to drop out this week as my sponsor does not want to balance up my tuition fees without PPR from the embassy to avoid refund issues even though I made some deposit before I applied initially.

What do you advise or what did others do?

Please help awys, frankrobbin, otunbatee, lekkibobo, anon, and anyone that has been through the stage.

use a dollar card, you can find someone that has one if you don’t and you either fund the account with dollar from the black market or give the person the naira equivalent. I heard access bank naira card still has a higher limit but not sure of this

Iffylove:
Please do you have any idea on how I can go about paying it.... The amount exceeds 100 dollars.
Thanks
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by sleekcheek: 9:21pm On Jan 24, 2021
The monthly limit on GTB naira MasterCard is now 100 dollars, it was reviewed downwards this month. He/she will not be able to use it to make payment for the visa application fee

deommanuel:
Have you tried using your GTB card?

I used my GTB card to pay for my study permit application(235CAD I think) and it went through.

Several people here have submitted ielts general and gotten approval. Also a screenshot of a tweet from ircc confirming they accept both has been shared on this thread. You can search online for this yourself, also the letter did not indicate either one which also shows that both are acceptable.

saskatoonguy:
Thank you Yteem and mankind5050. This attached information is what is confusing me. Have you seen anyone that successfully used IELTS General

Congrats on your resilience so far, I pray it ends in praise. A friend of mine is trying to get admission into memorial but most courses require a 2.1 or B average. Which prog did you apply for and what did you do differently? Is it a masters prog?

Rootiab:
Good day everyone. Please permit me to share my story.
I started this Canada talk since 2012/2013 when I graduated from secondary school then I later went to one university in ghana. Fast forward to 2018 when I was serving and I still wanted to travel then 2020 came and j started my process, I was miraculously able to raise 1m cause when I suggested Canada to my parents they said no. So before I started, a friend gave me an agents number which I called and he said I can't get admission for masters with my 2.2 and that even if I apply for pgd I have 20% chance of getting visa, I later went home and prayed and I applied and I got admission into 2 schools in Canada and chose Memorial and I paid part of my tuition which was also above the initial deposit and I wrote my ielts, which I just prepared for 3 days and I passed. So after all this I started thinking of where will I get statements since my parents are refusing to sponsor or help in anyway, then I spoke with ese and she told me to pray and have faith, although I contacted some people who were telling me to pay 500k, 400k for statements of just 10m. So I finally decided to go back and ask my parents with the help of my sister and Glory be to God my parents agreed and gave me statements of 15m which was more than what other were offering for 500k. Luckily for me I was able to submit my application this morning by 3am. I Just want to Say Thank you so much y'all for encouraging everyone and also advising everyone. I'm grateful, for those yet to apply and still in process, commit everything to God and he will do it. Peace

I got the courier payment, transmission amount was not stated. Thanks for the clarification

Anamekele:
You can read it again. I said that I paid 12570 for return Envelope
Also I paid #7430 for transmission fee.
Thank you.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by sleekcheek: 2:26pm On Jan 15, 2021
Congrats!!!

Please confirm how much you paid for the transmission fee. Thanks

Anamekele:
I just got my stamped passport now.
To God be the glory.
I sent my passport to Abuja on the 4th and it returned unstamped because I didn't pay transmission fee due to someone's advice that they will contact me to pay. They didn't instead they returned it. I had pay the transmission fee, pay couriers one way and paid #12570 to vfs for return.
My advice is that people should take note of this so that it won't happen to them.
My application was refused 5 times , my admission expired 2 times, I kept hope alive .
I went to court for judicial review and won.
Finally it ended in praise . Don't give up hold onto your dream with clean hands and clean .
May God bless you all.

For memorial it is clearly stated in the requirement one academic reference and one professional reference. Except yours did not state that

FrostyButter:
Seeking advice here... My application process for admission requires two reference letters... Got a great one from a lecturer... Is it advicable to use a senior work colleague (in the industry my masters program is about) for a second or seek out another lecturer. Ps: applying for course based masters.

Have u given your biometrics? if possible consider doing an upfront medicals.

Also is there a possibility of deferring the admission in case you do not get feedback in time?

Omolayo02:
Please I need an urgent response to this..thank you in advance

Wow, this one sweet me too much. Big congrats. More NSE testimonies loading!!!

OtunbaTee:
What God cant do doesn't exist..

1st application August 4th refused October 2nd

2nd application I did myself with Gods help on October 8th and approved today January 8th..

Thank you Jesus...I was so worried and God did it...

Longjonjoe:
When did you submit your NSE documents pls
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by sleekcheek: 3:31pm On Jan 06, 2021
I just noticed that only my additional documents are being currently reviewed as seen on my portal. Is it possible for them to be reviewing NSE documents without the main eligibility review?

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by sleekcheek: 10:20am On Jan 06, 2021
Yes it’s General and my program is for 1yr

JustMellow:
Hello Sleekcheek,

Except your IELTS is General and the TRF results expires in 2yrs. This may be possible only if your program is 1yr.

Best of Luck
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by sleekcheek: 10:05am On Jan 06, 2021
Oh I see. My score with the ielts result I wrote for the NSE stream is 471, way above the current cut off but I don’t have the WES evaluation and I have already gone far in my study route. I plan to apply for PR immediately after graduation using same ielts result and my Canadian masters cert

Goodbetterbest:
Yes you don't. But my aim is to get the PR before I finish my studies hence I'd still be applying with my Nigerian cert. My score with French points looks good.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by sleekcheek: 1:23pm On Jan 05, 2021
I thought u dnt need Wes if ur highest degree as at the time of PR application is a Canadian degree?

Goodbetterbest:
Have you calculated with your own profile? If you have more than 3 years work experience you'd score the full transferability points (100)

Anyways please try and first exhaust your EE and PNP options first (if your hubby's work experience and education are the same and his NOC is in demand in Saskatchewan go for it. Also check other provinces)

I did the same and my score is stuck at 445 so I'm opting for study route (genuinely too as I'm changing career) my plan is land while studying I'll see how I can incorporate learning French so that my WES won't expire I don't have stress to go through that trauma with my school again (it took 7 months)

So please first exhaust your EE/PNP PR options while arranging docs for study.

Good luck
It will end in praise

GCMSBuddy
iampaulsmith:
Which website did you order your gcms from?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by sleekcheek: 10:10am On Jan 02, 2021
Ok this makes sense because my eligibility review just started after I submitted NSE documents last week.

awys:
It could be they had not started anything on your application as at when you applied for the GCMS notes so if they send it they will just send empty GCMS notes without tangible updates on your application as at the time you applied if they have started reviewing the application then there will be something to write in there hence the reason they asked for 90days extension that's what I feel ooo
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by sleekcheek: 9:32pm On Jan 01, 2021
I just got a mail that my gcms notes were delayed for another 90days by IRCC. Requested for it since dec 1st, IRCC sha. Is there any reason why they delay notes?
