Vicjustice: Young woman, you made a mistake bringing such matter to a Nigerian community, you should have known that Nigerians are to worst people to counsel you in a matter that involves sex or fornication: professing to be religious, they are the most hypocritical people on the face of the earth.STFU!!! You read her first post and just jump 'gbam' to post comment. Did you read through the whole thread and see how much people have tried talking sense to her? Do you know how long it took before everyone here could convince her to talk to someone. Did you even read her childish and naive replies to peoples comments.?? Now,who is judgemental? ![]() Abebelube!! Nansense!!! |
Omode lo'n se won.. |
Did Shan george just say she has never posed nude? May thunder fire the mouth we she take talk that nonsense. I can clearly remember her pose with just her hands covering her bwests on the movie "outkast" poster and jacket back in the days. Big liar! |
FrontPageLawyer: that means you'd rather pick a handsome poor man to an ugly rich man?you understand english so? ![]() |
How does kneeling signify remorse? If I am standing and apologizing, does that mean I dont have remorse or not sorry? If I am a woman and I greet my husband while standing up does that mean I have less respect? Keep greasing the ego of the opposite sex and telling yourself that it is about respect.
if massaging my husband's ego once in a while is a price to pay for peace to reign in my home,i'd gladly do it! ..and btw 'kneeling to ask for forgiveness melts the heart' go and find out if you doubt that! |
Oh it is shyt but where in "our culture did it say that men should prostrate to their wives? Incase you forgot, in Yoruba tradition, if an else offends a younger person, he is just expected to call him and tell him sorry and that's it. You are only to prostrate/kneel to someone who is superior to you (king, elder, chief etc) which just means you kneeling to your husband means acknowledging that he is superior to you simple.
where did you get the BULLSHIT in bolded from? What you are saying doesn't make any sense. Kneeling for your spouse to ask for forgiveness after a fight is not inferiority! It futher defines remorse, respect and humility. Hian! |
roseybridge: I saw this on a blog, it peaked my interest and got me wondering what Nairaland peeps would say. Read below:if you are not sure of the spelling of a word, save yourself the embarrassment and use something you can spell. Btw,its "piqued"! |
Congratulations to her.. Olorun a wo won po o... ![]() |
You should have known all of that before getting married to him. Calling your husband's relations aunty or uncle whether you are older than them or not is a yoruba thing. It wont take anything from you so just do it for the sake of peace! |
I know my traditions lady but you and I both know that those traditions were set in place by people who are biased against women. They believed that women are inferior to them and so, the kneeling part. As for me, I will be more interested in what she has to say than the posture she tales when she says it. We are too bothered about the inconsequential so much that we forfeit what matters most
i'm sorry mynd but what you have up here is BALDERDASH! As Kneeling is so women so is prostrating to men culture-wise! The act of kneeling wasn't intended to make women feel inferior nor does it make women inferior.. Suit yourself as regards kneeling/receiving it from your spouse as the case may be but please stop chatting shyt!!! |
I think I am missing a point here. What is the special thing in kneeling down? Does it make that apology more meaningful? Does it show that the person is really remorseful or is it just the simple thing that it is PRIDE? The offending party feels he/she has to grease the offended one's ego to make that person feel high do they will be more easier to get to. Why can't I just dyt you down and apologise? Does that mean I mean the apology less?
wetin you dey talk wey nor sweet for mouth? Who are you asking questions? Aren't you a yoruba man? Kneeling is a symbol of humility...and can also be a symbol of respect. It might not exactly show remorse but it tells whoever is receiving it that you've still got humility and respect for him/her and that his/her forgiveness means more than your ego does at that point. If you had ever had anyone kneel to ask for your forgiveness, then you'll know the feeling. It melts the heart and it takes nothing from you if you do it.. Nothing! |
I would love to see you kneel to me
on to say wetin happen? ![]() |

Its this kind of pressure that makes a lot of women jump into marraiges with just any d1ck or men that aren't worth a second's thought that says "hello". Babe, your mum means well but let not her concern and constant probing push you into the arms of someone underserving. Goodluck! |
