I know there's almost no basis for comparisons here except that they are both successful american women. Given what i've known about men in my twenty-something years on earth,i'd opine that lots of men would rather opt for the hot,alluring and desirable Kim K instead of the warm,open,down to earth,not as pretty but well-groomed Michelle O. Men who prefer trophy women to real assets.. Men who have thrown out wheat for chaff.. Men whose hormones have held hostage instead of their brain.. They abound especially amongst Nigerian men. . Now,i ask that you NLers be sincere with your answers. . Men,What kind of women have your preferred in the past and now? The Kim Ks or the Michelles? What kind of woman are you with now? Paentera: On our first date, she was not too reserved and just remained herself - she had sent her picture and I waited to meet her at the Palms Mall. For some reason, she came with her elder sister's brood and since I knew her and she didn't know me, I saw her usher those kids around in a very ideal way I would have wanted her to treat ours - they love her so much and rely on her for so many things. She seemed so responsible and then as she walked into the pharmacy to get one of them some drugs - I tapped her shoulder and as she spun around...she just game me a hug and asked that I give her a few minutes to finish up with the kids. Once she was done, she handed them over to her younger brother and we went to see a movie - she allowed me to hold her hand during the movie and she put her hand on my shoulder as she cried during the movie. I had not even asked her out! On my way to drop her off at her folks, she felt so comfortable with her self in my car and just did that thing that women after your heart do - they own the space! lol. I just knew that first day we met, that we were made for each other. 5 years after, we're still together and we celebrated our 2 year of being together in holy matrimony yesterday September 4, 2012. I'm still crazy about her!isn't this just sweet... Awwwww  |

I don't think its okay to force unwanted responsibilities on a man no matter the case. What happened during courtship? Wasn't the number of kids they'd both love to have discussed and decided?? How come she now doesn't want what her husband wants? |

Lemme give an example here.. . My maternal grandad just died and my mom wasn't told because of her closeness to her dad. Instead,a message was sent to my dad since he'll know better how to break the news to her. . Now,if she was the type who had no respect for such privacies and had stumbled on the message on my dad's phone and had passed out after that,whose problem would it be? . The point is if you both have an understanding of what's acceptable and what's not,there'll be no issues! ...and even though you aren't hiding things on your phone from your spouse,you might have good reasons to not want him/her knowing stuff! |

Ujujoan: So it's ok for him to hide something from you, but not ok for you to read his text messageremember i said 'if'! Not that i expect him to but i trust his reasons! I don't go looking through his phone or reading his texts without his consent except i have some other motive! Its wrong and we both understand that! |

Ujujoan: so you dont share anything that belongs to your spousei do not have to have anything to hide. Its called mutual respect for each other's personal stuff....especially if there's no reason for distrust! My partner tells me everything(or so i believe)...and i do the same. If there's something he's not telling me,then he probably has a good reason why he's not. That's trust...and except something changes that,his phone is his and mine's mine! |
