obailala: The pidgin english bible wasn't made for people like you who don't have pidgin english as a first language. If you go into some of the creeks in Delta state, u will meet people who have ONLY pidgin as their language of communication besides their local dialects. My friend's father had two wives. He built his house such that each wife had her own duplex and lived in it with her children then the two duplexes were linked together with a small apartment and a large conference room that housed him.

He was hands on on everything. Their clothes were brought in boxes and if there were 10 boxes,it was going to be 5 for each mother. Food and schooling of each child was well taken care of too. They were RICH. All the children had the best of everything. There was no favouritism for anybody. On the surface,all was very well.

But all these didn't stop the silent competition or the buttoned up ill will or the innumerous issues that came with it when the man died.

Two of my cousins had children this year and no one knew they were pregnant until the children came. honey86: Were you from a polygamous home?. If you are not, then you know nothing about it. My dad married 2 wives and unfortunately my mum is the second. I said unfortunately because I know the kind of issues we've had over the years. From trying to kill my siblings and I, calling my mum a witch and even till this day they are still plotting on how to send my mum packing. your point about money is far from it. I'm from a rich home with a lot of money to go around but there is still strife and hatred. Polygamy is no fun, eni to kan Lo mo.

Well,yes as I have had quite a number of personal experiences(emphasis on the s) living in polygamous homes(relations),being friends with those from the same,have parents who grew up in the same,and have friends who are married into the same.
It might be too microscopic to generalise but If I haven't seen one party(father mother or children) out of about ten polygamous homes state happiness emphatically or publicly,then I doubt if there exist any.

Apart from illiterate or poor polygamous homes where the whole street is aware of their altercations,the literate/rich are more discreet with dealing with their issues.You never know unless you are an insider.
