Anonimoux: nobody is wishing evil on the country ok. Blame your political leaders for being unserious with the economy due to mismanagement. Now see the aftermath. He's such a child. They are destroying the economy before his eyes but he choose to blame fellow citizens calling out the government. An oil dependent country that can't control oil theft or meet opec quota.... Where else are we supposed to earn dollars from.? |

zionstaar75: but your evil wishes for the country too will never come to pass. You're a saboteur You are such a baby. Until the root cause of the matter is addressed, every other cosmetic application is bound to fail. We are not earning dollars, the lowest hanging fruit is to increase oil production but they have failed woefully to do that, they couldn't even supply to dangote... So how else are they going to strengthen the Naira? The fake it till you make effort of cardi b will not yield much result. |

airsaylongcome: Sounds like you own a retail outlet. Or possibly manage one. How do you handle the need to constantly update product pricing and make that updated price visible to your customers? The problem with making updated price visible is the the unpredictability of the market. There is sharp fluctuation in the market and it makes it difficult to maintain stable pricing. This fluctuations happen almost daily due to hyperinflation in the economy. Business thrives more during stability and make lots of loses when prices are unstable. To remain afloat, you are Constantly checking with suppliers to ensure you don't sell at huge losses and it therefore makes it difficult to constantly update prices... Reason many of them choose not to. Don't forget that the update cost money too. |

Politics › Re: This New Tariff Must Not Stand! - Simon Musa by slowice(m): 6:51pm On Apr 06, 2024 |
nairalanda1: Actually, electrcity is not produced at a cheap rate anywhere. It's expensive elsewere (at least until the band A increase.).
And the reason why it would be very expensive when full deregulation occurs is because the mess left by years of price controls and cheap power mean we have a very bad power sector.
That;'s what happened with GSM, and why we were paying at one time 10000 or more naira for a SIM back then. Years of NITEL running like a subsidisied company meant we had a very terrible infrastructure for telephony. MTN, and company had to build everything from scratch...we had zero supporting infrastructure for GSM back then. But as the investment paid off, making prices cheaper became profitable. Do you really think this can happen with electricity.? As we speak they have cunningly increase bill across all bands. I usually pay between 20 to 25k monthly in my business place, but today's bill was a whopping 80k for a band D customer. You see how criminally minded they are? FG gave them an openly cheques to steal Nigeria blind |

I use to pay between 20-25k month in my business place. A band D customer but today phcn gave me a bill of 80k. The painful part is that power didn't even improve. I get less Tham 3hrs of electricity daily and worse on some days |
Politics › Re: This New Tariff Must Not Stand! - Simon Musa by slowice(m): 6:01pm On Apr 06, 2024 |
nairalanda1: Unfortunately the cost of production of electricity has no respect for anyone's purse especially the government Electricity is produced at cheaper rate in other parts... We can pay more than the Americans when they earn 20times more than us. The funny thing is that even these guys have jacked up prices across all bands |
Politics › Re: This New Tariff Must Not Stand! - Simon Musa by slowice(m): 2:15pm On Apr 06, 2024 |
helinues:

If areas are grouped to the right band based on the electricity they are supplied, this new tariff shouldn't have much effects.
All this epistle is unnecessary No part of Nigeria should pay that much for electricity. Nothing in Nigeria supports that level of extortion.. No our income level, standard of living or even electricity distribution |
