Jobs/VacanciesRe: Celtel Interview In Asaba?whats Up? by SOJ(op): 7:01pm On Apr 11, 2007
VCKY99:
Hi guys, what's up honeys? It's been a long time out for me, man must wack, celtel or not.

That my friend that was called for the celtel training did not go for it. Presently she's with UBA, and from all the info about celtel's pay structure she got discouraged, she turned down their offer.

As for me, I would've preferred the celtel job to a bank job. Agreed, the pay is small, but I believe there are other silent benefits that will be attached to the job that we don't know about now. Plus the timng, 8 working hours. That gives you time to do other things, business, school and family. Though, I've to say that the delay and the lack of any info from celtel is very hard to handle.

Wish you guys the best!

Odada, hope to get to meet you at Oghara. My special good luck wishes to you, Femi, Veronica, Ifemade and not 4getting myself!
LMAO, yes o!man mus wak,men.I hope they call soon sha, i love movies but gotta have cash 4 d chicks abi nah?!
As per your friend,i guess she was satisfied wit d bank thingi.She didnt consider d pros of d celtel job - as u said standard 8hr work days, off days and flexible leave arrangements(enuf of them dey go jand and yankee well,well).And the sweet thing is dat whenever u dont wanna work, u can make a swap for another person to work in your stead.Cool ain't it?
BusinessRe: Dubious People Called Celtel by SOJ(m): 6:01am On Apr 08, 2007
my guys, its simply a matter of choice.I use the MTN network and it isnt cheaper as opposed to the Simply Special Unity Tarriff.Tell me, where else will u get 15 free sms and call at 33k per sec off-peak?even MTN doesnt beat dat(off-peak calls apply to only MTN nos and it is a measly 50k p/sec).Moreover,i have seen successful migrations done so yours might just be a glitch in thier system, thats all.Nothing a little patience wouldnt solve.

BusinessRe: Influx Of Suspect Finance / Investment Houses by SOJ(m): 11:24am On Apr 05, 2007
Nice post but consider that these chaps are not really investment houses in that sense but only have investment schemes as a means of raising capital for their respective businesses.A close check will reveal that most are into oil and gas which rquires heavy investmets and gives great returns.

Another question: A chain shops selling leather goods is ok in the west but is it profitable in Niger? You probably have to cater for a certain class.

grin
Nah, every one needs leather goods one way or d other,it just depends on where and how u market it.It will take ingenuity and creative marketing to pull it thru and make it a hit.Ofcourse its profitable in Niger.

BusinessRe: Please How Can I Use This To Make Myself Finacially Independent With Machine. by SOJ(m): 1:19pm On Mar 26, 2007
AM sure u know what d machine is used for.It is for body massages and improving blood circulation.U can make urself financially independent by developing a m"Mobile Massage Service".Pick a target market(preferably the 30-60year old population,mostly busy executives and civil servants) and move around to provide massage services for them at a fee.I believe you can provide custoner satisfaction because the machine relieves stress and body tension thus reducing the risk of depression.Think about it.

BusinessRe: Can I Sell My Ideas To Companies? by SOJ(m): 7:38pm On Mar 13, 2007
any good idea should be one that can be started with what you have at the moment.dont think companies wnat your idea,rather they prefer one they can invest in to bring returns for them.i advice u start somthin with ur idea then once it gets bigger,approach someone who can invest big in it.otherwise clamup and go watch TV!

@uspry1
ok then.expecting ur mail.about your travelling plans,i guarantee that u can get a translator here in Nigeria, depends on the end language we are looking at, but i assure u that most Nigerians speak and communicate in good english. You dont have to bother about driving in Lagos or any other place cos there are now reputable car hire and taxi services available;so you may have a "chaperon"!
Anyway, whenever you are ready let me know,i can offer more advice concerning your travel plans.
Still expecting your mail, and dont worry about someone stealing your ideas,i dont have the capacity to do that as u may soon discover, see ya!

BusinessRe: Build New Solar/wind Generated Houses In Nigeria. by SOJ(m): 5:31pm On Mar 09, 2007
@uspry1

Hmm, i think your estimates are a bit high for the average working-class Nigerian. Nigerians prioritise building in a good neighborhood at the most affordabvle cost.About stray/stucco materials, the answer is no.The cheaper affordable alternatives we have to these are concrete-stabilized clay bricks and mud bricks(for the low-income Nigerian).I advise your do more research on using other low-cost building materials(such as precast light-weight panels).This would help bring costs down and makeyour venture an atttractive one.I must say your initiative can come at no better time cos Nigerians need an affordable alternative to cement as buuilding materials(whose cost rises day by day) and an alternative to public power supply,probably through solar energy.
I wonder if i may hjave materials and schematics sent to me for perusal.u can email me at adesoji@enownow.com
All the best!
BusinessRe: Build New Solar/wind Generated Houses In Nigeria. by SOJ(m): 9:31pm On Feb 28, 2007
@uspry1
I really dig your ideas(and passion) but i cannot but agree with seun that nigerians may only buy into your idea if such renewable housiong is found to be cost effective relative to what obatins in Nig.right now,i suggest u do more research in providing housing built without internal concrete blocks(i.e. with padding and filling) especially light structures.Such housing,esp if affordable,could become a big hit in Nig.
Solar powered housing is laudable considering the epilleptic nature of PHCN supply and high cost of managing a generating set.Include this factors as cost-comparatives in your bizplan and you may hit pay-dirt.
By the way,i'm a building professional.Do i make sense? wink
BusinessRe: Starting Up A Consulting Company by SOJ(m): 9:15pm On Feb 28, 2007
Well,firstly u need to be a specialist at something;this means that you must have been working at it for about 5-10years(so i heard!).Then you need to approach people who need your services, you can build your contacts by referrals.
BusinessRe: How To Write A Business Proposal? by SOJ(m): 9:06pm On Feb 28, 2007
Nice one, naijacutee. However i think the chap wants to know how to write business proposal as opposed to business plans(though there are similarities,only that a plan is wider in scope).To write a simple business plan,yu need the following details:

1.An Introduction:state your company name, address and the services you are qualified to render.
2.Statement of the Problem:state the problem/whatever you are proposing to do.
3.Solution: state the solution you intend to offer and the benefits the client stands to gain from this.
4.Pricing/Budget: give details of the bugdet required and whatever can be stated in monetary terms.
4.Conclude by reasserting your claims and benefits of your product/service.

I hope i av done something.You may also checkout www.smetoolkit.org (i think?)
