As much as I am not too excited about an IBB Presidency because of the very dangerous precedence it might set. I honestly do not see Jonathan becoming a better President than IBB. An IBB Presidency may not be the dissaster people are saying it will be because the fact remains that no matter what you make of IBB's character he is naturally a brilliant/smart man. I don't know if I can say that about Jonathan. And you all know the dangers of having a dumb dictator, they are usually very insecure.

I am sick and tired of electing leaders based on assumptions/speculations that they will turn out to be ok. My only prayer for Nigeria is that choices available to us in 2011 will not be just between Jonathan vs IBB.

You're right; he could be saying one thing but will end up doing another. It's the system we found ourselves in. Before, he never supported those issues but now, for the benefit of the doubt, I think he has studied Nigeria and knows what needs to be done. After all, he has nothing to lose; he’s been there before but as a military guy.

But you answer to the questions portrays you like someone who cannot stand opposing voices. . .If you followd the American presidential election dabates you will discover the OBAMA sold himself to the electorates by not attacking the person of Mccain (while Mccain was busy attacking  the person Obama) but by selling his policies and programmes to the masses.

I follow d American election, where policies, charisma and antecedents of the candidates are critically appraised by the electorates b/4 supporting the candidate. USA has 100% literacy while Nigeria has much less than 20% (EEU, 2008). Our people vote for 'Big Man','Big Name', 'Big money' and ethnic loyalty without any clue of what d candidate represents in terms of their own welfare. IBB has all these evil advantages over any other contestant for now.

U are right I cannot stand IBB (after xperiencing OBJ). I have known IBB and OBJ 2 av been brought up wit d same philosophy but I actually  grew up on d streets of Lagos as a restless teenager realising we have 2 Satans. To your first question I will say YES.
To the second question. In fairness to d west I think they did their best to vote against OBJ in 1999 and even pointed out some of his evil tendencies to those of us from other parts that were probably too young to know him well in his hay days. They however caved in to ethnic loyalty in 2003 and OBJ ruthless methods.

OBJ is an evil we ave put behind us but being presented with another brand new hottest Evil Supremo (IBB) through our 'own' Dokpesi is unacceptable. I am a Nigerian hybrid and personally dont care where the 'good' presido come from but I know IBB (more than any other evil man in Nigeria) represents a potential Tsunami we dont want to try.
