Arysexy: Mumu! Don't think every one here is as jobless as u r. Go tru this thread u wil read wia I lamented about bn at cross road as to weda I will leave my well paying job (bt not secured) for TCN job. My present salary is in 6 figures and far better than wot TCN will pay me so I don't know wia ur 'Almighty TCN' blabb is coming from. Am not as jobless as u are, I only applied for TCN for 3 things, job security, training and career progress.

Don't think every fellow dat comment here is as jobless and hopeless as u r, take ur frustration elsewia and allow those luck has smilled at to discuss about d recruitment, ur frequent ill-wish and pessimistic views here are really annoying, just an advice.
Lol! Some people are getting angry. . . Big boy on 6 figures (though that doesn't change a sympathetic frustrating past)! . . . not even you can drag me down to your low status of calling people names in an online forum.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by SolutionsGuy: 2:02pm On Oct 30, 2013
Arysexy: Young man, we don't need ur advice, shove it down ur throat. Ur comments here sounds like dat of a bitter or wounded lion.

Ppl read ur comments and see ur inner person and wot u represent. Out of the abundance of d hrt, d mouth speaketh. U av wished this recruitment was cancelled, probably bc u didn't make it. This is a free revolving world man, u av to move on when u miss some opportunities. I av written NNPC test twice and never made it to interview stage even though I knew I did wel. That did not make me to wish d recruitment be cancelled.

Grow up guy.
Eyaa . . .inner person expert . . . you definitely do not need advice, what you need is sympathy. I sympathize with you on your frustrating past. Congratulations on the 'almighty TCN job'!
If you can bring up a post where I wished the recruitment is cancelled, then you are a truthful person. I have always highlighted it as a possibility, just like it is possible that I may die before tomorrow. That doesn't mean I have wished myself death. I wonder who needs to grow up.

No! No!! . . . #answering-&-getting-scared&frightened-dat-Quodragoals-is-about2catch-me.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by SolutionsGuy: 11:48am On Oct 30, 2013
Quodragoals: Pessimist!
Lol . . . that is what they call those who tell them bluntly

Maifata: @solution guy or wots dat ur name sef.. Can u copy n paste ur appointmnt lettr let's c? Pls
This guy and his/her admirers are like grade 6 pupils . . . I was like . . . is anyone still this daft?

Quodragoals: O boi ano sur say d guy(solution or weitin b him name) dey with us 4 TCN.
Does it really matter? Why should I convince anyone else that I have something with TCN? It's utterly immaterial. An African proverb said "paddle your own canoe".

I'm glad that after checking my posts over and over again, I have not seen where I wished anyone misfortune. Anyway, it had been pointed out earlier that we all have different levels of understanding English language. It's apparent that many are frustrated and trying to transfer the aggression to someone else. As I said earlier, go get busy (if you are not)!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by SolutionsGuy: 9:38am On Oct 30, 2013
Some say it is 'severance package', some say it is 'approval of training budget', others say it is 'delay until they hand over DISCOs and GENCOs', some others even say it is that 'the recruitment wasn't transparent'. Lol, Lol and Lol again!!! It is just that people in here always want to hear something and soothe their burning anxiety. If one should tell him/herself the truth, how will approval of training money stop ordinary documentation. Govt owes itself and NAPTIN doesn't need bags full of cash to train TCN staff. They are all under the same ministry and will reconcile accounts later (even if they will be paid in the next 5 yrs).
Bottom-line, something is holding the process but all the hear-says pasted here are FAR from anything 'reliable'. It could be tomorrow, it could be February, it could be next one year, it could also be cancelled entirely. They are all very very possible options. Go get busy people! Go to school, go do some training, continue with your current work, or just do something, instead of sitting day-in day-out and swallowing doses of lies & getting deceived on this wall(at your age).
@Filcast, I agree that an engineer should have good communication included in his work paraphenalia, but this does not call for too much impeccability in English grammar usage as found among linguists. In fact, while on the job, engineers are advised to employ engineering terms rendered in phrases, as such a profession demands a high level of technical know-how and less speech--except during training sessions and the likes. Besides, in some locations, engineers are advised to communicate in their shared native language as certain actions/activities are better expressed and aptly captured by our indigenous language.
Even sometimes, people speak better than they write.

Are you with me?

Your own 'grammer' and 'where' were wrongly written...grammar... were. Whereas there is no such word as 'grammer' in the English Lexicon, 'where' is an adverb of place wrongly placed in the position of 'were' which is a plural past tense verb.

Learn more...08034373942
What on earth is this guy trying to say? You are wrong my friend. Any thorough recruitment process will not have this akym guy listed as successful candidate. He could have been favoured by Nigerian lapses or the federal character thing. I think this is just an intro . . . when job starts you will see every dick and harry packed in the name of 522 engineers. That is part of the reasons why NEPA suffered, PHCN suffered, and now TCN has already started suffering. If you don't know, effective communication in english is key to engineering profession.

By the way, it is not 'paraphenalia' but 'paraphernalia' . . . "er" not just "e". Paraphernalia is used to describe tangible objects and it's not applicable in your logomachy. You can't use it to describe things like skills for a job.

@akym2005: I thought you wrote better than this. What the hell has happened to you. You go village? Lol!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by SolutionsGuy: 6:15pm On Oct 20, 2013
gibits: To the best of my knowledge this is the most transparent recruitment exercise in the history of nigeria.
Gives an indication of what your knowledge is. Ones thinking is always limited by his/her knowledge . . . when people born in 1980s (or even 90s) come to make conclusive statements on the history of Nigeria. It is ignorance.

By the way, I don't know anybody in TCN till today but recruitment processes have been much more transparent than this (i.e. for people who have the opportunity of asking the older people how things have been before). This one looks so transparent because it was massive. Those who did interview in SE (and those who are observant) might have seen that some few candidates were referred by 'whoever' to take test and do interview the same day. Plus some other connections that went on in Abuja.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by SolutionsGuy: 4:21pm On Oct 20, 2013
While I do not believe authentic2013, I still believe in statistics. I'm a realist and technically his info is very possible (following any labour laws or constitution). Having an appointment letter probably without a specific resumption date does not entitle one to any benefits. You have not worked for TCN for a single day!

blessmyij: Its a big lie. The appointment is still intact . They are having problem with d money approved for d NAPTIN stuff. We might still join d training. I narrated authentic's story to a top TCN staff , he laughed and laughed, he said dat its not possible dat they tried to do d recruitment as transparent as possible. I am a living witness. I will update you guys maybe on tuesday
Was it really the TCN that did the recruitment of the Ministry of Power? Note that many parties have faulted the recruitment process. In fact, ab initio, the so called NUEE said it is off the due process (cf: http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/recruitment-labour-faults-power-ministry-s-move-to-engage-hr-consultants/136351/ ). That news was before the advert came out (Jan. 15, 2013). I'm not saying that your "top TCN staff" lied but know that some of these ogas cannot admit that they have NO information because of ego.

blessmyij: To an extent. I am a living witness. At least for once in d history of Nigeria, SOME people got d job without knowing anybody.
This Ij girl is getting to excited. My friend, Nigeria HAS NOT degenerated to this level. In almost all major govt recruitment, a good percentage get the job without knowing anybody- NNPC, DPR, Military, Police, FCSC (for various ministries), etc etc. Some were just siting in their houses and got call, SMS, or letter. Get facts straight before making absolute statements.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by SolutionsGuy: 2:45pm On Oct 03, 2013
Arysexy: I don't think TCN was affected, Discos and Gencos are d ones dat that got privatised. No one knows wot this ppl are planning. God help us all.
National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) includes TCN staff. Meanwhile, some group had also faulted TCN recruitment though.
However, I wouldn't think there's any thing they are planning. Just hitches associated with govt things. No need to worry much shaa.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by SolutionsGuy: 8:37am On Oct 03, 2013
ugfunky: uhmmm....ok I got accepted today....I pray they dont post me somewhere stupid..... I studied electrical electronics........I hope I get posted close to a cash - friendly department
You see why government job will always suffer . . . a full fledged engineer doesn't care about career development, hands-on experience or what contributions to make. His/her particular interest is in "cash-friendly" department. We are finished. If over 50% of the new engineers share this mentality, then TCN will be exactly the same with the defunct NEPA, meaning that survival is not at sight as the TCN will not be able to service the Gencos and Discos . . . that's where the major problem lies.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by SolutionsGuy: 2:58pm On Sep 20, 2013
Opylo: How much are we going to be paid during the training(officer 2)? My calculation amt to approximately 108k per mth. All u need to do is put an addition sign where d multiplication sign is to get the basic . Also put an addition sign where d subraction sign is to get the full per annum pay. i think the 887k is for d allowance. GOODLUCK to all new TCN staff. pls comment on this if u think in d same direction
Lol! . . . this guy...
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Transmission company of Nigeria (TCN). by SolutionsGuy: 9:26am On Sep 17, 2013
cyraxjay: Guys , do not be discourgaed by what you see on the letter. I collected mine today. True, on the letter its 37,000 but I have it from reliable source that the minimum is 100 thousand monthly for officer II.
Now they have started again with the reliable source thing. Why giving people false hopes? I am not saying anyone should be discouraged but take what you have seen written in black & white first, and any other addition you see will be a surprise. However, that is below minimum wage and one should expect to see more in alerts. Significant change usually comes after training/confirmation.

DAZZLEME88: Hello everyone. I was called this morning by a staff of Federal Ministry of Power. He requested for the correct spelling of my names. I cannot draw any conclusion from the conversation, I only observed enthusiasm from his tone. I am optimistic.
Perhaps he wants to clone documents in your name so as to swap your slot for a relative.

chukdc: Governor Fayemi of ekiti state, stated about 8 weeks ago that 500 engineers have being recruited for NIPP generating station in the nigerdelta ,you can search it out online.
Vice President Namadi Sambo stated about 6 weeks ago that Nigerians will soon produce an aircraft. You can search it out online.

chukdc: i make spirited effort to go to TCN headquarters in Abuja and source for information.
So that what will happen?

chukdc: Last year 500 engineers were employed in the end of last year for phcn generation company. They are being trained now- at Niger state.
That is not correct. In fact, it is either that you are mixing up information, or that information is mixing you up.

This is not the first time a group of fraudsters is doing this. Check: https://www.nairaland.com/1339647/oasis-oil-gas-job-training
