You guys can make the best decisions by going the information and asking more questions. General requirements vary but the financial implications can be the biggest hurdle for most.
If you think he should remain you have to convince him how staying back van be the best option. Not all people relocate for financial reasons. Some dolls have their families in Canada but stay back and make their money in Nigeria.
The lockdown is a good time to dwell on all this. Maybe you'll end up travelling ahead of him when you gather more information...

My laptop trips up prematurely while in use if I disconnect the power. Before it hibernates at 10% but now it goes off without warning between 20% and 50%. On a more serious note, you need to know when and where to draw a line. There's a difference between your friends, good friends and your best friend but in your case, an outsider will find it difficult/impossible to differentiate the three categories. This in itself is not bad, but you can see how you struggle to cope when things go 'south'

Learn to establish appropriate boundaries for different people in your life (family, friends, neighbos, colleagues, etc), that way your aren't overly hurt by people before fully admitting them into your life (consider it like granting them a trial..... Lol).

Also for the long run and to develop a firm personality, you can consider reading certain books: The Prince by Nicolai Machiavelli, 48 laws of power, why you think the way you do, amongst others but be carefully what you read though. Some of those books can completely change your ideology.

You're the kind of person everyone loves and tries to relate with but its unfortunate many will try to take advantage.

I am sick and tired of excesses of Nigerian government, CBN, & all Nigerian banks.
it is no longer news that we pay extra 7.5% as VAT on every transfer we made from our bank account but this stamp duty charge add to it is completely out of it.
it's very difficult to run successful business in Nigeria considering the fact that you provide power supply for your business, security, etc yet you pay excessive tax to government. As far as am concerned, federal government supposed to be satisfied with 7.5% tax on all electronic transfer but 50naira deduction on every 10,000naira and above deposit to ones savings account is step taken too far. On every transaction, be it debit or credit bank deduct 4naira as sms alert charges, we pay card maintenance fee every month, we pay 7.5% VAT on every transfer from our bank account and now they add 50naira stamp duty charge on every credit of 10,000naira and above ok our account. the worst part was that if you received 10,000naira 10 times in a day, you get charged 50naira each time and that amount to 500naira loss. I see no reason why we should be paying execessive fee on savings account because there's no justification for this. Even on calls we make, we get charged 7.5% VAT and Nigerians cannot point to exact thing their money is been spent on. Nigerians need to come out of our shell and ask government & CBN why they want to kill us with excessive charges and tax, even during this bad time that most Nigerians have turned to beggars, government still continue to tax us this bad.

Nigerians should let's reject this completely and let our government knows we are not fools

If we should food our arms am sure they will introduce more hardship to make many Nigerians resort to committing suicide

Now that we're testing people, we have seen a sharp increase in the number of confirmed cases, to about 220, which is still very low for a country with 190 million residents. However many people suspect that the virus has penetrated our society far more deeply than the NCDC statistics suggest. We've noticed that people who travelled to colder countries recently or spend most of their time in air-conditioned spaces, or their direct contacts, are massively over-represented among the confirmed cases. Is this because they are the only ones being tested, or is heat a factor?

Here is the list of the 10 countries that have the highest number of active COVID-19 cases, and their forecasted temperatures for the day:

The above data, in spite of the outlier, is enough to convince me that the Coronavirus likes cold weather and probably spreads faster in cold places, such as air-conditioned cars, offices, and homes. This, apart from the lack of testing, may explain why we are yet to see any significant evidence of transmission outside the circles of travellers and the rich and powerful in Nigeria. It is consistent with what we know about other respiratory illnesses, and why countries like the US expect the disease to slow down in their summer season (starting from June).

When I see videos of Lagos officials spraying open areas e.g. roads & sidewalks in Lagos, I have to laugh, because I strongly suspect that, if they actually bothered to test for the presence of the virus on those surfaces, they'd find nothing at all because the sun already sterilized them.

Knowing that the virus hates our hot temperature gives me hope. If a cold country like South Korea (0°C -13°C forecast for today) could beat the virus without destroying their economy by imposing a total lockdown, a constantly hot country like Nigeria could do much better if we used the same tactics. We need to start testing people who have had close contact with confirmed cases before they show symptoms. We also need to enforce universal wearing of face-masks and social distancing everywhere, which in itself may even be sufficient to end the virus.
