Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has described the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Edo State, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, as “a bad product that won’t sell during the Edo governorship election.”
The poll is slated for September 19, 2020.

Wike spoke in his capacity as the Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party Edo State Governorship Campaign Council during an interview with a national television network in the state.

He drew his conclusion from analysis of facts deduced from the previous governorship elections in the state.

According to a statement on Friday, signed by the Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Paulinus Nsirim, the governor said the erstwhile APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, had exposed the true identity of the Edo APC governorship candidate.

Nsirim, quoting Wike added that it was an insult to the Edo people for Oshiomole to reverse his earlier position and ask Edo electorate to accept Ize-Iyamu.

He said, “Adams Oshiomhole told Edo people that Ize-Iyamu was rusticated from school, that he poured acid on a fellow student which destroyed his manhood; that he is an armed robber that cannot be trusted with money. Such a character cannot be accepted by Edo people as governor during the election.

“I respect the Benin tradition and I know that Edo people are educated to know that Oshiomhole cannot play on their intelligence. If he is now retracting what he said about Ize-Iyamu, who is sure that he’s saying the correct thing now?”

The governor further stated, “Adams Oshiomhole’s sudden U-turn is a great insult to Edo people. This is an opportunity for Edo people both at home and in the Diaspora to use their votes to tell Oshiomhole that they cannot take his lies anymore.”
Reacting, the Chairman, Edo State APC Campaign Council, John Mayaki, said, “The real bad product is the dying PDP and its band of tax-collectors as described by the same man, Governor Nyesom Wike, who alerted the world to how the leaders of his party sold its ticket to Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

“They are stuck with a man they roundly condemned as a failure. The verdict of the PDP on the third anniversary of Obaseki’s administration is available for all to read.

Meanwhile, Obaseki has accused the leadership of the APC in the state of planning violence and importing arms to intimidate and harass his supporters as the September 19 governorship election draws near.

The governor said this while receiving Muslim leaders at Government House in Benin City.

But the Chairman, Edo State APC Campaign Council, Mr John Mayaki, said the governor was confused.

This is a very dicey situation and I don't want it to lead to unecessary issues.

I love my privacy alot and hardly post pictures. I never post him and he never posts me too but he always blows out my not posting him out of proportion. He's obsessed with my social media accounts and I don't even care about his. I also feel giving him him my password will have him posting his picture at will, which I wouldn't like.

Christianity Etc › Re: Ghana Begins The Use Of Chloroquine And Zinc To Treat Covid 19 by sonofthunder: 8:19am On Jul 29, 2020
petra1:
The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has admitted to the use of Zinc and Zithromax as a treatment for persons infected with COVID-19.

Director-General of the Ghana Health Service said the drug is proving to be one of the most effective medications for managing persons with the virus.

He also noted that health authorities are awaiting approval of one more drug which is Hydroxychloroquine.

Dr. Kuma-Aboagye made this known during the bi-weekly update on COVID-19 case management organised by the Ministry of Information on Tuesday, July 28, 2020.

“Very soon, our results will come out for us to know whether the people on Zithromax and those who are on Hydroxy Chloroquine alone will be the outcome. I think that will be very helpful. What we also know is that Zinc helps to protect the mucosal line. If it is weak, it is easier for a virus to enter. So it has some protection of the lining of the mouth, the nose that does not have easy access to the virus. That is why we do that and add vitamin C. Zithromax also provides secondary protection because it is antibacterial, so if you have some antibacterial infection, it offers some protection. But the hydro chloroquine, when the results come, we will see whether it works for us for a decision to be taken.”

Zithromax is an antibiotic that fights bacteria.

It is used to treat many different types of infections caused by bacteria, such as respiratory infections, skin infections, ear infections, and sexually transmitted diseases.

Ghana’s case count
Ghana’s COVID-19 recoveries and discharges as of Tuesday, July 28, 2020, stand at 30,621.

782 new cases have also been recorded from 58 districts in seven regions across the country pushing the cumulative cases to 34,406.

These are from samples that were taken from the period June 23 to July 25 but reported from the lab on July 26.

The number of active cases is also 3,617. The country’s total death toll stands at 168.

So far, 382,752 tests have been conducted.

Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye attributed the trend to some changes in Ghana’s COVID-19 testing protocols.

“As of 23:00, 26th July, the number of Ghana’s active cases stands at 3,617. Recoveries out of the total number are 30,621 with a cumulative total of 34, 406 cases. For the death cases, we have 168. We have 0.04 case fatality”, he said.

Out of the 782 new cases, 428 of them were recorded in 25 districts in the Greater Accra majority of the cases are from the Ayawaso West, Accra Metro and Korle Klottey areas.

The Ashanti Region followed with 319 new cases in 21 districts including the Kumasi Metro and Sekyere South.

Five districts in the Bono East Region have recorded 21 new cases majority being in Sene West, Kintampo North and Techiman.

In the Western Region, seven new cases in three districts were recorded in areas like Wassa Amenfi West.

The Bono Region has five new cases in three districts.

Only one new case has been recorded in Kajebi in the Oti Region and Tamale in the Northern Region.

The nine other regions; Eastern, Central, Volta, Western North, Upper West, Upper East, North East, Savannah and Ahafo regions reported no new case.

Still leading the chart in terms of regional cases is the Greater Accra Region with 2,459 active cases.

It will be interesting to follow up on this. I personally think WHO has failed us in some ways but I'll be happy to be wrong. Most of the studies condemning the use of chloroquine didn't focus on other factors like how critical the situation was, the expectation for survival amongst other things. They make it sound like its the chloroquine that kills the patient and not the corona virus.

Most of the big pharma companies already know they will develop a vaccine but they don't want to lose their investments hence they sponsor studies to discourage any potentially effective drugs.

I have cause to visit Lagos in order to secure the bail of a younger one who got into trouble. My cousin who stays in Lagos insisted I stay with him. He has a wife and 3 kids.

The problem now is that I don't think his wife knows how to cook!! I have had running stomach eating her food since 4 days ago. I tried to turn down her food last night but it didn't go well as she pleaded with me to eat which I did. I had stomach upset through out the night. I just can't imagine eating her food again till I leave.

Please how do I refuse her food without sounding offensive??
Is it that the food is not sweet, you are allergic to the food or you are being served leftover food that was poorly preserved? I'm guessing you eat same meal with other occupants of said house.

The competition for the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) in the world of football has been a bone of contention between these two fantastic footballers, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The argument has been more among the fans of these two players than between the two players themselves.

There are many points raised for and against each of the two players as strengths and weaknesses they have. One of the points raised against one of them is that he waits more on being given penalties to score than nipping his way through the defence of the opponents to hit the back of the net

My article dwells on the penalty kicks awarded and taken by the players since the inception of their individual careers till date.

This table shows the last penalty scored by both of them

Health › Re: Coronavirus Can Infect Ears, Causes Hearing Impairment – New Report by sonofthunder: 5:35pm On Jul 23, 2020
ednawande2580:
It is well known that coronavirus can travel deep in the body, infecting the nose, throat and lungs, but new research has found that the virus can also infect the ear and the mastoid bone of the skull, which is just behind the ear.

In a small study of three patients, two had high viral loads not only in their middle ears but behind the ear as well, Daily Mail reports.

The team, from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, says the findings suggest that clinicians can look in the ears for people who exhibit coronavirus symptoms.

For the study, published in JAMA Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, the team looked at three patients who died of COVID-19.

One of patients was a man in his 60s, the second a woman in her 60s and the third was a woman in her 80s.

Specimens were taken using swabs and stored in a solution called viral transport media before being tested.

Two of the three patients tested positive for the virus, known as SARS-CoV-2, in the mastoid or middle ear.

The woman in her 80s had the virus only in the right middle ear, while the man in his 60s had the virus in his left and right mastoids as well as left and right middle ears.

This is not the first time that coronavirus has been linked to ear infections or ear issues.

An April 2020 study found COVID-19 induced in adults acute otitis media, a type of ear infection in which the area behind the eardrum becomes inflamed and infected.

Another study on 20 patients without symptoms, with no history of hearing problems found that hearing abilities worsened after the infection had passed.

The team of the new study recommends that people be screened for COVID-19 in the ear before undergoing middle ear procedures.

The authors wrote;

“Identification of live virus from middle ear effusions would have implications for surgeons and staff who handle equipment such as instruments, suction tubing, and suction canisters due to current CDC biosafety recommendations. Finally, mastoid and middle ear colonization with SARS-CoV-2 does not necessarily imply current or future otologic symptomatology.“

In the US, there are more than 3.9 million confirmed cases of the virus and over 142,000 deaths.

Your points are conflicting, are they dating or are they committing sin? Those are two different things. You people just hastily generalise, ignorantly condemning what you have no evidence for. How many choristers have you encountered in your life and how many do you condemn as sinners?
