This kind of surveillance will be in segments, a new company like that with no track record at all could be given a small segment of the project to handle by the main contractor. Maybe just the lighting, or the alarm system, or something not too complicated or costly, maybe like maximum of 100m worth out of the 3.7b.

4. A company that was asked to break down the components of the surveillance and explain which part does what, the presenter replied "I don't know, this is just a prototype" And we should hand over 3.7 billion (N900 million in 4 places!) to such company

I am sure that there have been negotiations you have engaged in, without experience but the conviction and know-how that you can deliver the job once awarded to you. There is always a start. The company may have had the know how but not the experience. How they put forth that know-how for the awarding of the contract was left to the awarder to decide. however, I would not rule out the fact that they may have had the know-how for implementation. periodt!

The least anybody asking me to approve a project for him is to convince me he or she can do it. Experience is just one of the ways people use to convince that they can deliver. So if you don't have that the give me reason to give you the job, any logical reason. It is a no brainer to even think of that as a good idea to curb the menace of unprecedented insecurity in the country, eg. kidnapping, unprovoked attacks and killings, banditry and terrorism that's bedeviled the country for over a decade.

Common sense should tell anyone that there is no security anything anywhere they are installing. This is the way projects are normally approved in Nigeria but this particular one was rejected maybe Ameachi did not carry some people along.

In case you are not getting it, let me point some things out to you, forget about the experience of the company for now (even though it matters a lot)

1. What is the brand name of the equipments so that we can look up the company that produce them or is it the 2 years old company that manufactures the equipments

2. What does each part of the component of the equipment do? Which one is camera, how does it operate, which one sends signal or alert, how does it operate. Which one fires warning shot at advancing bandits (if there is anything like that there)

3. Who are the personnel that will be responsible for this project, can they be trusted not to compromise with terrorists to go sell the anti whatever installed in the equipments to terrorists?

As someone who has been involved in several business negotiation processes (maybe a few tens of millions), I have a lot of questions to ask whoever is presenting this shoddily put together proposal. Not to now talk of of BILLIONS of naira and people's lives at stake.

Now back to your analogy, so you will be comfortable to give all your life savings to a mason who has never built any kiosk before, doesn't even know the name of equipment he will use in plastering or how it works while also asking you to give him 100% payment upfront to build house you will sleep with your family? Think about that.

If this is the way majority of Nigerians reason then all hope is lost on that country

A pro-All Progressives Congress (APC) on the aegis of Bridge Builders Initiative For Green Nigeria (BBIGN), gave the ultimatum during a solidarity march in support of APC and Ameachi, Wednesday at the APC national secretariat, Abuja.


National President of BBIGN, Emmanuel Orgwu, said any person who will find Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, and convince him to declare his interest to run for the 2023 Presidency will be rewarded with Ten Million Naira.


According to Orgwu, Nigerians are becoming impatient over his delay. But whether he is interested or not, Ngerians want him.


"It is based on the qualities which Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has that we, Nigerians are calling on the Ubima born leader and politician to declare his interest to run for the 2023 Presidency to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.


"We Nigerians have saved the sum of Two Billion Naira to give to Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for his electionary activities once he declares his interest to contest for 2023 Presidency. So, Mr. Minister, money is not going to be a problem or cause any hindrance. Therefore, we are giving you a twenty-one day ultimatum to declare, otherwise, we shall force you to do so.
