Mamas i hale o, happy weekend to you all.... i beg touch my matter o...My 8 months baby uses her chest to crawl rather than hands and leg i.e. she draws her chest on d floor. Please has any mother experienced this? Is there any way i can help her to crawl? Is it possible that she may not crawl at all till she stands? Please share ur view.

Mamas pls help me out on this. I took my first TT dose at 18weeks and the second one today at 29wks2days, does it mean I will start all over? .I read it here dat d first dose should be 4wks apart from d 2nd dose. I don't understand dis my hospital procedure oh.

My fear stems from this: "Sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine should only be used during pregnancy if the benefit outweighs the risk to the fetus. Because pyrimethamine is a folate antagonist, folic acid supplementation should be given during pregnancy. Because sulfonamides compete with bilirubin for binding to serum albumin, free bilirubin levels rise in the presence of sulfonamides. Therefore, neonates are at risk of hyperbilirubinemia, jaundice, and kernicterus when sulfonamides are administered to the mother near term (prior to birth, the fetus is able to dispose of bilirubin via the placental circulation). Sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine prophylaxis is contraindicated at term."

Pls una help me torchlight this matter.
I went for my ANC yesterday and met a more senior doctor. While palpating my abdomen, he said my uterus had reached about 4cm above my navel which is unusual for a 20weeks pregnancy (using my LMP-22nd of march which by the way i'm 100% sure of and i have a regular cycle). He said that fundal height is for about 25wks pregnancy and so he referred me for a scan. I'm worried about this, even made me unable to sleep well last night. Pls wat could be the reason for this?

Secondly while palpating, i felt pain on the left side of my uterus, he said i'm not supposed to feel pain. So he prescribed cefuroxine 500mg and panadol. Pls wat is the cause of this and are these drugs safe?

Pls help a worried FTM.

Hey mama's, I really need honest answers based on first hand experience. What is induced Labour like? Compare it with natural labour if you have had both please.....
How easy were you able to manage the pain ?

My 2nd was by induction and it was very smooth and successful.. like all medical interventions, it can go south but it's not as scary as we make it. Before induction some examinations are carried out like cervix exam, reactive CTG etc to know if you are a candidate for it. For d resp distress, it can also happen in spontaneous labour but there's a slight increase of risk in induction but if labour is progressing normally it wouldn't happen. Also with careful titration of oxytocin it can be avoided. For me, advantages of induction are
1. Contraction is more intense and as such faster labour all things being equal.
2. Constant monitoring on d part of d medical personnel and can dictate when something is amiss
3. Reduced risk of postparum haemorrhage
The disadvantages:
1. They burst membrane first so if it doesn't progress wel, dats emergency CS for u
2. Labour can be so so very intense
3.there could be increased risk of distress for d baby is it becomes prolonged
4. Increased risk of uterine rupture if not well titrated.
NB: induction is more favourable to 2nd time mums than FTM.

Imagine! I'm having a wound breakdown again. The middle of my incision has opened up and the sore is red.

Please, experienced mamas and mamas that have undergone a CS, what do you think could be the cause of this?
I clean it regularly with cotton wool and spirit, i dont do anything strenuous, and i took all my meds.

I'm far away from my hospital, else i would have gone der asap.

I didnt have bp before and during pregnancy so my mind didn't go there. Postpartum edema occurs in some women as per Mr google o.
