When you are before a mobile court, you are not expected to plead not guilty. They're not interested in the truth but the money. Go to the mobile court in lastma hgts and they will tell you that the case will be transferred to a regular court and your car will be impounded with demurrage counting till the court date. You will gladly pay and let them let you be.

With all due respect, I still repeat, Land Rover range rover, free lander do not command low budget and low maintenance. Something must go bad no matter how religiously careful one is in owning these marques.

We are saying the same thing. But the bottom line is early detection and repairs. That's why I always say that range rover brand are for directors and not for managers. Another client with an 06 supercharged came last year for service and we discovered a dynamic response fault that would cost him less than 40k. Guy promised to come again and never did until 2 weeks ago towing the car to the workshop. When I saw the condition of the car, I was sad that the gentleman will have to pay very much to bring the car back on the road. That's is the definition of high maintenance. I have seen Range Rovers that come in for service every six months for 2 years with a change of brake pads only. There is this 2019 Autobiography supercharged LWB that we were the one that did the first service and at every 6 months when due. Last month, we changed the brake pads front and rear. That has been the only thing that has been done on the beautiful car. Range Rovers are low maintenance cars only if you are a director.

Bros, low maintenance is possible if he does not allow the car to develop big issues before he fixes it. Someone had low coolant warnings on his 2014 range rover autobiography supercharged and I told him to top it and I will send someone to pick it up the next day. Guy added water and the warning stopped but he did not ask for us to come over for the car until the cooling system collapsed and the gasket was burnt. That's the difference between low maintenance and the extreme maintenance that most people are afraid of when we are talking about range rovers.

Try the 06 to 09 model. Low budget maintenance is possible. Besides engine oil change, everything is affordable.

Made in Egypt or the one from the US? The Mobil 1 US spec is almost similar to the Castrol Edge also made in the US. But what I don't understand is why will mobil be sending the Egyptian spec to Nigeria when they know very well that 90% of the cars in Nigeria are from the US and so they should factor the good oil specification for American market cars. Make I nor talk too much.

Sorry bros. Na how we see am. They are all diesel and petrol engine oil. Castrol will display on their gallon the star bust logo of Gasoline engines only. If the logo is on the Total gallon, then it is good. Do you know that Toyota is one of the vehicles that are very selective of the oil you put in their cars? Check out the oil chamber cover of a Toyota and you will find gasoline engines only, energy or resource conserving. So with this information, you will never find it on any oil manufacturer in the country and not even the Castrol sold locally from SA except the oil from the US and some European countries. So if Toyota did not recommend these oils, na range rover go come say that make you use am on our high compression engines?

Welcome to the club and please ensure that you make all necessary changes when they are due. You will need the octane boosters for your Lr3. It's for all models of the land rover brand. Remember that maintenance is the key. Try and change the engine oil and use the recommended oil. There are many types of Castrol but avoid the ones that are petrol and diesel engine oil, those SN-CF spec, that will also eliminate Mobil, Total and Oando. They are all 5w30 but not all 5w30 are permitted on the range rover. The Castrol Edge 5w30 extended performance in gold color gallon is the best for the car. It has been proven to withstand high temperatures and cools down the engine and eliminates friction among the internal components of the engine. Good luck to you as you experience the wonders on wheels. The off road capability is second to none as we have tested it on the elegushi to eleko Beach route and it survived beautifully.

Toyota Super Long Life Coolant is excellent for newer model Toyota cars manufactured from 2004, but I discovered this OEM concentrate which meets the specs and costs a bit less. The premixed Toyota coolant costs about 11k in my area but this one is a concentrate requiring mixing with an equal volume of distilled water, so yields 8Litres and costs 8K

A rewire without a scanner will put the car in limp mode. Scan the car first before any other options. We're on the mainland. In ikeja.

Thinking of purchasing a RRS and ship it to Nigeria, but the problem is, I réside in Europe and only visit Nigeria once in a year, majorly during the summer. Having gone through some amazing discussions about the less frequent usage of the RRS, I previously use Nissan brand, but I'm thinking of going for RRS. It'll be parked at home if sent to Nigeria until I'll come home on vacation. Moreover, I don't usually go out when I'm in Nigeria, so the truck will be drive less often.

Will there be any huge problem with my potential choice or I should just opt for infinity fx30 or 60 brand?

Fuel is still doing wonders to our Range Rovers. I'm currently fixing a 2016 Range Rover supercharged. Just cleared from the Port and it was scanned before the lockdown. The proud owner just bought fuel only once and all the oxygen sensors are crying for help. The low octane fuel is really a challenge for us. Get octane boosters now.

Since the correction of the fuel pipe by my original mechanic, everything has been running well, till yesterday I discovered the oil leakage from engine cover area.and you were last to touch it.

Now I will spend another 22k to more to buy Mobil 1 again.

The problem with you is you outsource someone's car to numerous mechanics in your mechanic yard.

And all of them will be doing different different things without coordination and hence errors everywhere.

Bros, those little errors are very critical and it is unpardonable. If I were to be in that situation, I will call him to meet me at the bridge or arrange the towing at his cost. All those talk of being over priced is normal because there are many factors to consider like logistics and sundry matters. Autologic is good but like you rightly observed, sometimes he is overwhelmed by the multitude of jobs he has to do. The Scope Baba is very good with his method and it takes time to be able to determine the reason for the failure he is troubleshooting. I will advise Autologic to refund half of the towing cost to you. Internet Mechanics are in vogue right now because even the scanners need the Internet. So we are all related together. One good aspect of Internet mechanics is that they dont give wrong prescriptions like our Medical doctors who cannot interpret the results of a simple laboratory report and they will end up telling us that e be like say you get typhoid and malaria.

For the 2014 Range Rovers and upwards, always use the right coolant and engine oil. It's very essential for the peace of mind of the owners �.

When the roads were safe, from 2012 to 2015, me and my Range Rover Sport were like 5 and 6 on Nigerian roads and the only time I cried on the road was when I used a substandard engine oil to test if I can use it for other people's vehicles. I spent one week on the road. Just Lagos to Abuja. Catalyst was gone and that marked the beginning of the end of the Sports. Reliable and efficient is the same as Above and Beyond. For those complaints about the car, the reason is because the dealership are trained in fixing the car and not repairing it. The ability to repair is the only reason people are bringing salvage cars into the country because there are a lot of us that can repair the car and set it up as new. I once had a Nissan Pathfinder US spec in Europe and it does not get into reverse gear. To fix the problem, the mechanic is charging me 1000 Sfr to remove the gear and take it to the gear specialist who will charge 2500 Sfr. And then another 1000Sfr to the mechanic to fix it back. And I bought the car for 2000 Sfr. I just shipped it to Nigeria and it was repaired for 25000 Naira only. So if Range Rovers are exhibiting reliability issues, in Nigeria, their head go reset.

There's a difference between fix and repairs. Fix entails changing the engine instead of overhauling the engine like we just did on the car. Before it was shipped down, they have called for an estimate from the dealership over there. To change the engine over there will make buying it a wrong idea. So bring it home and repair and it's good to go. That's the difference between Coscharis and me
