When the engine is sluggish due to the use of low octane fuel, the ml uses premium unleaded fuel only and when you read what using a low octane fuel on a mercedes does to the car, that is one of the reason the poster advised that you should run. Poor fuel economy, the Gear will follow suit and when it happens, you now observe strange behavior from the gear. But the benz is able to withstand the low octane fuel better than vw, audi and co but proper care can be given to the car when you use high grade oil, try and get the real mobil 1, change your gear oil and filter yearly and get a good octane booster. Then you can boast of being a proud owner of a mercedes ml. Not all owners of mercedes benz are proud because of the agonies they have been put thru by the Germans. I will suggest you up the ante by going for the 350ml.

You are lucky. The majority will do otherwise. A trusted parts seller ruined my E240 by selling to me an ecu, hammer and key of a six plug e class when mine was a 12 plug e class. Gear in low range, then in limp mode, change egs, transfer case, valve body. Sometimes, you need to calibrate to take the car out of low range, that is when the manual mode fails. 12 plugs in a v6 but getting the right plugs is difficult. They will sell star plugs and you think it is the right one but you might buy an A class plugs all in the name of star. Power steering selects oil, so try and use the recommended one. I used to buy from Globe motors cos you dont know the oil that is inside the can at the open market. Engine is sweet when all is well and when you see the mobil 1 logo, dont assume that it is the same mobil 1 in the country else you will be battling with sludge and it will come to the point where the oil will not flow as the thickness ot the sludge is impeding free flow of oil. Whenever you see any ml on the road, most of them are frontally slanted, it is a sign that they are living in their past glory.....

Diesel Range rovers are becoming a reality in a country where the diesel is not bluetec or clean diesels, where all the new mack trucks are disappearing from our roads because of the poor quality and adulterated diesels. Unless there is diesel exhaust fluid commonly sold in the country, owning a diesel range is desirable. I have seen the autobiography sports a lot, the little luxuries in the interior makes one confused. Who is it intended for? The driver or the man sitting at the rear? I hardly see anyone with a range sport sitting at the rear while being driven by a driver, maybe 2 owners of autobiographies but no one wants to give his range sports to his driver, he takes charge of the thrills himself and so the autobiography in a sport does not match the autobiigraphy in a range rover vogue and i believe that is why no one is talking about it.

I took my car to him in January for servicing and now-April- the car is showing due for service with code B1 which means a whole lotsa things need to be checked/changed. I requested for Mobil 1 engine oil, and in the 1st week after servicing the oil life dropped to 80% and continued dropping really fast and now finally at 3262 miles, oil life 10% and really embarrassing service due warning popping on the screen every minute.
Unfortunately you don't get to see them when they are WORKING on your car as you will be instructed to sit in the reception.

That is not fraud, it is the oil that you are using. I had the same scenario with a client that bought a brand new cross tour. The first service, we used Oando syn, less than 1000mls and within a month, oil service light was 10%. Angrily he came back with mobil 1. We changed the oil and a month later, same 10%. This time he was boiling but because he was alway there when we changed the oil, he could not say much. I noe checked the oil spec written on the oil chamber cover and it was written, 5w20. We then used castrol 5w 20 and over a month now, he has not called or returned with a complaint. I suggest that you follow the manufacturer's specification.

Congrats and welcome to the club. I will suggest that you stop driving the car before you destroy the gearbox. There is no oil in the gear and the fibers will get burnt if you still drive the car. Fix the gear first before we talk about the other issues

Op, what oil did your car recommends that you use? 5 w 30 sm or sn? Check the cover and it is written there. I concur with Gazzuz that lubex is not the right oil for many vehicles. It is a turkish brand, seahorse cousins and I meet them all the time at the auto fair. They are not sure of what they are producing. The bottom line is if your car requires 5 w30 sl, sm, or sn, go for the oil specification. If lubex is sm and your car requires sn, why buy lubex? I have seen some synthetics that will state 5w30 sl, there are many toyotas that are supposed to be using that oil, look for the specification and use it. Using the right oil saves you money as you will be free from sludge and over heating. Total q9000 is synthetic but it is an sm, same with lubex sm and both are european certified, why are the prices different. Lubex is not what they claim to be. Whoever is promoting lubex or any oil should show us the oil certifications and the data. Nigerian motorists are hurting and it is time we sift the chaff from the wheat.

Today, a friend of mine was looking for the balloon of an e550 toks and they told him 150k. A new balloon for a 2011 rrs is 180k. Which is more expensive? The 2006-09 is 80k brand new, so how can air suspension cost 450k? The gears dont go bad unless you believe a lie that the oil is lifetime and therefore you pay for the assumptions but it is not more than 350k. The engine is above a million but I dont subscribe to buying in Nigeria becwuse the engines are not reliable. I always recommend buying from the Usa cos the engines from there are tested and retouched. The reason for the rare engine failures is because of the engine oils produced locally that cannot hold down the temperature of the engine and so it fails. Oando, forte, total and mobil are a danger to these engines and from what i got today from castrol, we should use castrol magnatec 5 w 30 for oil service. This is not the same sold by eterna oil. With all these safety tips, you should buy the two brands, you will be in the range with your family and let the tundra be used behind you to carry rice and tomatoes to the people in the village
