gbemmiey: Yea, if I were to go to Medway via train, how do I go about it, missed the 11am bus even tho I got there at 10:50. It's really annoying.
Where exactly are you coming from?

BTW, there's a double room and double bed available very close to school. The person listed it as 320 but you could get it for 300pm.
All bills inclusive

I would have taken it but i already paid for another place before he responded for viewing.
Here's the link

HudsonBanks: Reporting Live from Hamad International! Got here 2 hours agogrin Na God go punish all our Nigerian Airlines oo with their piss poor service I swear. My flight was super smooth with 5 star service I repeat 5 star service!! Chai!

Planned to go to their Oryx Lounge but the airport itself na lounge with fast working free wifi and all, so no need to blow $40 on the Oryx Lounge any more.

I almost missed my flight today oo and even carried a little bit of excess luggage (Carried two bags, one na 85% Indomie grin cheesy) but talking nice and smiling wink to the fine lady at their check in desk allowed me get away with being late and paying for excess luggage.

Arriving London in the morning. God bless us all here and allow us achieve fantastic grades in our post grad endeavors, Amen!

I hope that indomie is the big pack(220g). I couldn't find it here in gillingham, i had to buy a carton of the small packs(70g).

KingRuckus: Guys, I got admission from both Kingston Uni & University of Hertfordshire ; please which 1 offers the better academic quality & correct social life ??
January entry, 2015.
From the leauge table here: http://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/league-tables/rankings

It's obvious Hertfordshire is far better. Nevertheless, you still have to consider location, money involved and student life

MallamYahaya: Iyawotobe,

I had the same issues too. Please check your account too and find out whether you have not already been debited.

Create a paga account. Google paga and register. Transfer the money to your paga account and pay through paga. That was what I did.

I can confirm that paga is reliable.
She doesn't even need to create an account with page, she should just pay through paga gateway

DFAM: Pls, how best can I move my fund from GTB into my Barclays account. I supposed I could use my master card at the POS to do that. But the lady I meet at the bank says they can only give me swift code and then I have to contact GTB to effect the transfer. Cc: SpikesC, DonOms.
You should be able to do that, i am sure of it.

Nevertheless, if your GTB account is domiciliary, then you can do an international transfer else you'll have to withdraw it from an ATM.

If the money you wish to move is for paying bills, like school fees, i would advice you pay with the card.

honey86: Unfortunately its a single 30kg bag, my parents flew emirates to manchester last xmas and they could only take 1 bag each.
na wa oooo

EAkoteyon: thanks all for your response.
I'll look for ways to reduce my load.
As I'm taking connecting flight from Dubai, will I pay again at Dubai if I have excess load after I've paid In Lagos?
naaah
TravelRe: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by spikesC(m): 9:11am On Sep 25, 2014
DonOms: It's a single hold luggage of 30 kG and a hand luggage of 7 kG for Emirates. EAKoteyon will have to pay for extra luggage if it's above the recommended.

It should be about USD 65 per kG for Economy flight from LOS to LHR. You can use the baggage calculator to know the price: http://www.emirates.com/uk/english/plan_book/essential_information/baggages/baggage_calculator.aspx
If you got this from there website, just disregard it.
Flights, in Nigeria atleast, are mostly double check in bags.

Royal air maroc listed 1 checking bag on there website, but i called them and they said it's 2. It was also written 2 on my ticket
That was why i told him to call to confirm.

If he's paying for extra luggage online, he's wasting money. Extra luggage is cheaper to pay for at the airport because you can beat down the price.

EAkoteyon: abeg o, I hope my crayfish, dried fish will be safe and arrive successfully. I think I'll b having excess load, how's d charge like on Emirates? what's d maximum load I can carry on Emirates?
They will as far as they don't get above 20kg altogether.
I think Emirates is 2x35kg checking bags and 12kg hand luggage.

But am not sure, so contact them and ask

pato231: thats nice @spikesC i will also be at medway campus in january,do you think i can commute from london to the university daily as my wife lives in london and will want to stay with her,if thats not possible can one get a short stay accomodation where i can stay just monday to friday and go home weekends.thanks bro
Yes it's possible, but solely depends on your capability.
If you can get to the Greenwich campus easily, they have a school bus that goes from there to Medway regularly. Though you'll have to compare your timetable and the departure times of the bus.

Or, you can go by train easily to the Gillingham station. Though you'll have to take a 35mins walk down to school or take a bus.

Yes, you can get such rooms but it's very few and most times it's the same cost as a normal rental

GeneralShepherd: Royal air maroc is 77k
sharp man grin

For anybody booking tickets, search with wakanow.
If our precious royal air maroc is still the cheapest, call them directly and book your flight. They will charge you exactly what you got from wakanow.

It can also apply to other airlines.

IyawoToBe: Same prob we are having. Been trying to pay with GTbank's card and it keeps saying unsuccessful payment.
You guys should be able to pay through payga.

When paying, you have the options to pay through mastercard, visa, payga etc. Just chose payga
Though they charge a little bit more

GeneralShepherd: Guy abeg ehh a friend of mine used his credit card to help me pay my school fees. And I want to give him 4million in the uk. What is the best way to pay him that money in pounds sterling?
You made a mistake o. You should have paid it with your Nigerian card.
Well, if he must take it in pounds, you have to exchange your naira and send it to him through bank.

You can also use the services of individual money transfer and exchangers as they're a bit cheaper.
I know of one here on nairaland, bebe2, i think.

Pls, note that i have never used her services, therefore i am not endorsing her, neither is this a guarantee.

But she has been on nairaland for long and was a regular on this section.

IntroVAT: I've decided against arik.I was just told by Arik I can't for a student, and that even if I book a return flight since i'm going for a 3 year course, the return will be forfeited. Ridiculous

Or is that the same for all flights? For longer terms like mine, the return is forfeited?

So if I want to book for a return, what should the return date be in my case? What's the maximum a ticket can be held for?
Arik is an uninformed company or they probably like the money they get when people forfeit their return tickets.
You can book a one way as your course lasts for more than one year. Just look for another airline

If you intend returning within one year, then book a return ticket that gives you the option of changing your return date.

Amdan: I just finish my MSc here in the UK and about to start my PhD and want to bring my family along. I already have established presence and want to rely on this when applying for visa. My tuition fee is already covered. The thing is, should I extended my visa here first using the "established presence" then apply for my family to join me later using the same "established presence"? Or go back to Nigeria and apply together with the "established presence" backing? Which approach will require me to show less amount for living expenses?

I intend to apply in abuja. How fast can I expect Teleperformance to process my Visa if I come back and apply together with my family?
I would advise you extend in the UK first, then send your documents to them to apply.
This is because their visa expiry will be the same as yours.
