I don't know about you guys, but this is my own understanding of love. Armed with this understanding, I don't love in anticipation of either a good or bad reward from my loved ones. Because when I am expecting for instance a favorable/desired reward and it turns out to be the reverse, then I'm bound to be affected negatively- I'd stop loving- caring for others.

And if we were to stop loving entirely, then I don't think we'd survive for even one day.
