Ms Nas: Following the debate on twitter. The fool has been sacked by her company even before her plane landed on the Africa sef. Our winch too much! ![]() |
Seun: I think she's safer in America. She could literally get AIDS in South Africa if she doesn't take refuge in the right areas. I think she's just being punished for having the temerity to say out loud what many others are thinking while being female and pretty. And being bad at her job too. This is a load of BS. What are you talking? |
conceptmay: hello good people, i have a close friend who just lost his high paying job, fortunately he was able to save a whooping sum of 7million naira , please good people, genuine advice is needed on what he can do with the money he had saved. i have suggested farming to him and he is not ready to go into farming .please house ,your genuine and trusted advice is urgently and highly needed now. thanks good peopleBad idea. Agriculture is the future. If you see people like me who have been in oil business going to secondary agriculture (not the farming aspect, but value addition), then you should know that it is the future. |
pdf90: thanks .The estimates are very wrong. It takes approximately 110,000 to cultivate a hectare of cassava in order to achieve a yield of 25 to 30 tons per hectare. This has been dealt with exhaustively on other threads on the subject. I wonder why people would come here to provide figures that have no basis. If someone were to use them to take a loan, trouble is what will wait on the other end. |
eminikan soso: it is trueMr man, we are talking of 30 tons per ha with varieties like TME419 and you are talking of 9 tons. Don't send us back to the 1950s with your wrong and obsolete information. |
He should be careful. One in 30 Nigerians carry HIV. One in 4 South Africans carry HIV. Statistics do not lie o! |
OP, God bless you for this post. Ever since my dad's office enemies nearly had our entire family poisoned through our house-help when I was a kid, I have had a complete aversion to them for like forever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV_5bNFbX0g If this video does not shock you, then you have not imagined the serious damage that these househelps can do. |
Corpers get half price. And also when sending me your texts, indicate where you are located so that your manual can include information specific to your area. |
ceah: HAPPY BIRTH DAY @ 71 to;Have you ever heard of Tunde Thompson and Nduka Irabor and how Decree 4 was used to put these two journalists in jail until Buhari was removed from power and IBB freed them? Have you ever heard of ESSENCO? (I am sure you were not born then; I am talking of 1984). Do you know how import licenses were issued to cronies of government to bring in essential foodstuff because it was cheaper to import goods than to manufacture them locally, thanks to useless policies of his government? What of the ill-advised 1984 price controls which crippled many local companies forever? Who were the beneficiaries of PTF contracts under Buhari's watch? OP, some of us were very much alive and not babies when Buhari was in power. You cannot pull the wool over our eyes. |
favour ume:I hope say you go invite me to lunch at your business premises by June next year, courtesy of the proceeds of your YouWIN grant, and throw in a N3,000 recharge card to go with it. No dulling! ![]() |
Like I said, people should answer that particular question anyway they deem fit. I feel the mistake is from the YouWIN staff that structured the questions. Many of those questions are kind of vague and should have been structured better. As for someone asking whether I dey give am food to chop, that is a sign of an inferiority complex and has completely nothing to do with the question being asked. With 10 days to go I would expect people to be more concerned with submissions now than engaging in a war of words here. So final word: answer the question as the Spirit of God gives you understanding. |
favour ume: Oga English language may not be my first, but the question is self explanatory and it says - "Describe this equipment" which means it is just ONE equipment you are require to describe.Every answer I give here is stemmed from the proposal I wrote for my sister which won in YouWIN 2. I did not start speaking English until I was 4 yrs old from what my parents told me. So it is left for you to decide if the question is asking about ONE equipment, or SEVERAL equipment. There is no word in English like "equipments". |
alaoeri: Being an activist & having a good marriage are two different things. The great Madiba married 3times in his life time. But Madiba's failed marriages were as a result of the strain the struggle put on the women, not because of domestic violence. Your analogy is totally faulty. |
favour ume: 1. You were asked for AN equipment, which means one of the equipment needed, without which you cannot start your business. For example, if your business is about cutting of meat into cubes, one equipment that is needed is your meat shredder. So you will be explaining and giving the amount of the meat shredderEquipment is both singular and plural. So "equipment" means ALL the machinery needed, not one machine. |
The car looks recently sprayed. |
Krucifax: Finze and Gongola are multimillion dollar businesses that have been established for decades but it's not about competing with them as they are on another planet you need to do you. It@s a bit like saying you like fashion but can't open a fashion brand because you will compete with VersaceMy brother, I was discouraging the OP. I am a business man myself and the number one business killer in this country is lack of capital. Forget everything that people will tell you about capital not being the most important component of business. IT IS! 700k to start a block business is just too small. The costs of setup will denude the OP's capital and then what will be left? He needs to ramp up his budget to at least N1.5m to make any headway. That is what I meant by competing with Finze and Gongola. Those guys have money to run their businesses and I can tell you authoritatively that you need money to stabilize a business especially when it is growing. There is no guarantee that the OP will start selling the few blocks he can come up with straight off the blocks (no pun intended) to generate more money to stay afloat. I do not like keeping people's hopes unduly high. I have seen the good, the bad and the very very ugly of business. It is not a kid's game. His best bet if he cannot come up with more than 700k is to at least go and start to hustle for some small jobs. Locate areas where construction is going on and lease some land to start operations in close proximity to these sites. Then he can go from site to site canvassing for jobs. If he prays well, God will send his angels to go before him and get one person to give him a prepaid contract. A prepaid contract was what saved one of my cash-strapped businesses from imminent collapse. Keep it real! |
down4bj: This car doesn't look anything near the 2009 model....its a 2002 i guess..A company can still manufacture an old model in a current year. See? |
andyanders: If you go the filling stations here in Nigeria, most ladies who serve as the attendants are pure robbers.Never look at their faces when dispensing fuel to your car. They will be cheating you and same time smiling to kill you.You see? I don't want to describe how two female pump attendants tried to rip me off 500 bucks. Shame! |
arcbabe: OP that is where cashiers get their money from,I have worked as a cashier before. You are very wicked trying to expose her and if they sack her what benefit will it be to you. If a product bought is scanned it will reflect in the invoice but if the product is not scanned it wouldn't reflect in the invoice and that is where cashier see their own money from. So they feel it is better not to scan the product so that it wouldn't reflect in the invoice and the money is theirs b'cos you can't scan a product that has already reflected in the invoice and take the money, they will have shortage of cash and the money will be deducted from their salary. So the trick is don't scan a product and it won't reflect in the invoice and the money is yours without you having any form of shortage. It is people like you that come to Shiloh to steal and then carry curses down their family lines. God help you not to ever work in any of my companies. You would be strolling your village streets with madness. |
And mr Frosbel, I have asked you this question again. a) Do you lock your doors at night with padlock? Why not leave it wide open? Afterall, angels are on guard not so? b) Why not leave you car open with the keys inside and put a bold inscription: touch not? c) Do you have any locks on any of your house doors? d) Why not leave your ATM card and the PIN boldly where it can be accessed by anyone? Afterall, God is there to protect it. When you start making your analogies that are bereft of commonsense, look at your own life. You are the one who is a fake! |
frosbel: Only the wicked who have something to hide have bodyguards, Jesus never had any body guards.Did you ever read the portion of the bible where the disciples answered Jesus: "lo. here are two swords..." LUKE 22 verse 38. WHAT WAS THE RESPONSE OF JESUS? And did you also recollect what Peter did to one of those who came to arrest Jesus? Sliced the bagger's ear off.. Your bigotry has made you lose complete focus. Men of God are allowed to have bodyguards for protection. As long as they do not harass people and are used strictly as a rapid response force when the physical safety of the preacher is in jeopardy, they are ok. As a final note, perhaps you should explain to us why God Himself planted a cherub and a flaming sword that could turn 360 degrees to guard the garden of Eden when Adam was chased out. He could as well have left the place unguarded, not so? And can you also explain how people like David had an army, as well as bodyguards including a certain Abishai who came to his rescue when a giant from the lineage of the Philistine giants almost killed him (2 SAMUEL 21 verse 15 - 17)? Stop reading your bible upside down! |
THIS IS THE THREAD OF THE YEAR! My wife would love this. |
ngezeck: pls help me with dis last question.Simply put: do you have any unpaid loan you took for the business? Did you borrow money for the business which you are yet to pay back? You have to be very honest with this because when you are awarded the grant, your accounting and bookkeeping will be thoroughly examined by the YouWIN inspectors and the inspectors from SMEDAN. If it is discovered that there is money unaccounted for which you probably used to pay off an unpaid loan and in your initial application you failed to report this, you could be disqualified and asked to refund any grant money given to you. I am aware that this is being enforced strictly in YouWIN 2. |
Gregterx: Thank you, this might help. But do you know the price of a generator that can power these machineYou need a 25KVA gen. |
Tayeni: lol....don't say that. The lady has the right to be scared of idea thieves. The smallest element in ur proposal maybe the main thing. Remember, entries will be graded by humans and humans talk. If lecturers, government officials could dabble into businesses such as pure water biz...then I hv every reason to be careful how I share. Innovation is rare. That's why copy cats abound. The business plans are marked by a foreign consultancy firm and so are not under the control of any potential idea thieves as we see in the ministries and government parastatals. I think people should quit worrying about who will steal your idea. Pat Utomi said it is better to have 10% of something than to have 100% of nothing. YouWIN is an opportunity to own 100% of everything. If you can't trust the process, is it Nigerian banks you will trust? Someone was here three or four years ago talking about a Nigerian bank that stole his idea after submitting proposal for counterpart financing (was it GTB? Can't recollect again..). So just do your proposal and submit. Besides there is hardly any idea out there that is new. |
Katier00 :I doubt if you can afford to start this biz in Abuja with 700k and be able to compete with the Finze or Gongola industries. Maybe you should start by selling cement. |
Tayeni: blink and stagger.....how old are u guys? Stagger I'm sorry to say this; your childishness takes the cake I swear. I mean, do you guys know each other outside nairaland? I will suggest one of u challenge the other to a gun duel. And finish each other instead of messing up a beautiful thread. The thread is on point. Take the fruits and leave the chaff. Simple. |
OCTAVO: Sharaaaaaap man!Go sit on your middle finger. Nonsense. |
adelegan1: Please don't not be deceive agriculture is not profitable in this country. Don't start what you can't end successfully you will waste your money and time. If I have farm 20hectares for 3 years and I must tell you. I learnt of lesson. But agriculture is never profitable in any part of the world. In America the government subsidize the agricultural sector heavily and that is why people are still farming. In nigeria people that produce food are the small farmer. Now sometimes when we see a truck of tomatoes we think is coming from just one farm that is not true. This product were collected by agent in small farms to filled in that truck from the north to bring to the city. This goes with most agricultural product. The only people that make money in agriculture are the agent and merchant. Now lets take the case of cocoa farming. The cocoa farmer lives in poverty while the agent and merchant become very very rich just within few time of starting the business. Please be warn . I will be here to see people that will loose money and precious time on farmingMy friend, stop talking what you don't know. If you use a blunt knife to cut bread, it will never slice it. I am sure you understand what I mean. |
favour ume: oga/madam stagger,I have different personalities. I can be the nicest person, but I can be very aggressive and will not take nonsense from people like blink82 who make it a point of duty to keep sticking their nose where it does not belong. What can I say? If you are in the industry where I operate, aggression is what keeps you afloat or you will be sunk. That's just the way it is. I have my direct competitors sending spies to my premises all the time, and that is just a tip of the iceberg. People like blink82 who cannot mind their business will simply end up putting their legs in a termite hill. He thinks he is smart, when in actual fact he is a knucklehead with nothing in his skull but arrogance! |
Babatunde Folorunsho. Ishola Oyenusi and a Naval Sub Lt. named William Alders Oyazimo were the three robbers whose pictures appear (the trio slumped on the stakes). The civil war led to the proliferation of arms and that is where we have found ourselves today. Check all the countries where civil wars were fought. They have never been the same. |
blink182: You behave like a kid excessively, can't you act right for once. I did not even say that with the wrong intentions.Your arrogance knows no bounds. Always taking panadol for another person's headache. Again, you were not the subject of my response but you had to stick your nose in my business. You should be praying for your proposal and not constituting a nuisance here. |
