emmajiya: This guy sure talks jive, do you read with your Anus? The same guy who is offering to teach, school whatever you in kerosine business is busy defrauding people, I inclusive.Kai ne daya tunaninsa tare da dubura! This thread is for those who want to learn kero business and not for thwarts like you who are venturing into HYIP. Do you see anyone with the moniker "hollam 201" or Babatunde here? Abi you chop craze? Wawa dabba ba tare da tarar da kwakwalwarmu! Ku dubi barawo! |
blink182: Seriously, have you seen anyone here try intentionally to mislead another?Mr man, face ya front! |
desdichando: People who reason like u are part of dz nations problems!!!!You are obviously either coming from a brothel or a beer parlour. We have seen your type here too many times so we cannot be moved. True spiritual people know when to get empowerment in the spirit to confront issues in the physical. Na spiritual civilians like you dem dey use do suya when the battles of the spirit start raging in a pre-election year. If you like, keep moving around writing nonsense. |
foluade: Does anybody know any company in Nigeria where I can buy Cassava processing machine. I am mainly interested in making Gari. Thanks. Not rocket science. 1) FIIRO in Lagos 2) PRODA in Enugu 3) NASENI (either in Nasarawa or FCT, I am not sure). The above three are government parastatals. Private ones: 1) Capsfeed Ltd in Ibadan 2) Niji-Lukas Nig. Ltd I have all the price lists but will not give that information. You contact the firms individually and do your homework. |
Brimmie: FIXED!There is nothing fixed about the picture. Look at the shadows from the men; they all align. This is not new. If you look at TD Jakes when he is preaching church, take a good look at the two persons seating on each side of a front row pew. You will see the one on the right facing and looking at the crowd on the right, and the one on the left facing the left and looking at the crowd on the left. How do I know those are security guards? They never show the same excitement that the rest of the church shows during service. They do not smile and carry plastic faces: totally focused on their work. I have seen at least one instance of a man who supposedly came for an altar call attacking a pastor physically. If I see the videos, I will put them here. Aha, here is one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlCOSUXp7kQ However, my personal view is that this is a bit extreme. We can have the type of security we see at the Potter's House where TD Jakes is the Senior Pastor. We are not in a war zone for crying out loud. |
favour ume: I though you said you N5M won for the YouWin 1, why are you writing and submitting again. Why don't you allow people like us to win this year naw.He must have been paid money to write for someone else. See? |
ytex82: Pls am seriously interested in the manual.I sent a request earlier but got no reply.will appreciate if u could send payment detail 2 mee(ytex82@yahoo.ca)For some time I have stopped selling this manual because too many people ask for payment details and do nothing. I can't keep giving out my banking information to strangers. So what I have decided to do is this. I will give the manual out to serious people at the cost of N10,000. This will show me who is serious or not. If you want the payment info, send an SMS to 08137971851. Anyone who feels the price is too high should simply walk away. No one is putting a gun to your head. Sorry if I am blunt or mean, but that is how I have decided to handle the issue now. |
9japipper: I have an idea for an online retail store that will serve mostly people in the south and east. The store would be selling just cosmetics and beauty product. Please share your thoughts on thisOshare, this is a business competition and so if you are asking people for their thoughts on your business plan, 99% of them will give you a million and one reasons why it will not work and they will either mislead you or pull you down. You better write your plan based on your own convictions. Do not let anyone do that for you. This is the best advice I can give you. |
emmajiya: Babatunde Balogun aka hollam201 because of $17 wey U steal from me that's why you dey hide? You are a despicable thief hiding under the cover of online trading. I go tech U lesson for just $17.And you bring up such rubbish on this thread? Is this place where to look for someone who took your $17? This is for those who want to learn kero business. Okay? |
jethro2: Check all my write ups, I have never insulted, abuse or exchange words with any one on any thread. You know why? because all I want is the free will to express my opinions without being insulted or being trashed by some uncultured children. What a normal and matured person would have done to an annoying post or thread is to skip by without dropping a comment. That is what i have trained myself to do. I think you should go and learn how to express yourself without constituting a nuisance. Thank youWelcome to my world. I love to be a thorn in the flesh of people who start meaningless threads without contributing anything. You read Naijacutee's post. Better add value to this thread or pull the thread down. I also said you should write good English without typos. It is either you write good English or you write in your native language. Read rule number 21 for the appropriate use of the Nairaland forum. |
May I also add that this ECO-FRIENDLY stuff being pandered around is nothing but a load of BS. In the early days of some of my businesses, there were times I paid salaries from my personal money when the businesses were struggling. I once took a bank loan that almost sunk me and when I paid, the interest I paid was almost 50% of the facility. At such times when the cashflow is in trouble and your staff and their families have to eat, are you gonna tell them "HEY MAKE UNA NO WORRY. AT LEAST WE ARE SAVING THE PLANET..." Try am see whether one of them with big head no go nod all your teeth comot! ![]() |
blink182: You made a lot of sense but I still think magazine business is a bad business especially in Nigeria, it is a luxury item and N10m is not enough to sustain a good magazine unless she wants to produce those funny magazines with glossy coloured outside and paper one colour inside. those magazines are just hideous. One good point you made though is that she should know her business very and she can sell any business plan.Anyone who has done a business in the Nigerian environment (like me from my teenage hustling of the late 80s till date) will tell you that Mr Utibe's contribution makes w whole lot of sense. Printing business is a very viable business capable of creating employment for many people (just come to Murg plaza in Area 10 Abuja to see for yourself). But the fact is that in the hands of a newbie, a printing business will fail. That is my take, knowing how Nigerians are more adept at copying ideas and other people's businesses than taking the pains to do a proper business research. |
Davidolives: Am a man utd fan but ask sir ALEx who is d king of match fixing,or wenger against totteham some yrs ago i can kip mentioning namesGuy, you get proof? Dis your beer parlour gist go put you for wahala! |
jethro2: that will be nice. Though most practising farmers dont have access to internets and most often dont even know how to use it.Surely you have not been to Osun state and seen what Rauf Aregbesola is doing with graduates and agriculture. Make some inquiries and find out. Also try to clean up all your typos. They are annoying. |
171.5 in Sheraton Abuja. |
Godspikin: Any past winner should please help in the following areas where I have some challenges.Someone I know requested for N10m, but said she will bring a certain amount from her own money. Guess what? She was given the sum of N10m minus the amount she said she will contribute. Nuff said. |
Patiladwonder: The question talks about minimum equipment and not equipments. That means, you are allowed to talk about one singular major equipment you either need to start or expand. The word "equipment" can be used as singular and plural. I don't even know that there is a word like "equipments" (I stand to be corrected though). |
vince01: l have 2hectares already and some amount of money, d question is how can one know a good cassava stem to b used? ThanksContact IITA Ibadan. They will sort you out. |
Secularist: But why now?IAA is a US company called Insurance Auto Auctions. They sell only Salvage vehicles, meaning cars that have been accidented! Plain and simple! |
usanieja: I WILL JUST ADVICE GUYS BE CAREFUL! I WAS JUST SWINDLED THROUGH WWW.OLX.COM LAST WEEK ON THESE CUSTOMS/AUCTION CARS! IT WAS PAINFUL PAYING 50,000 NAIRA JUST LIKE THAT! SO BE CAREFULYour greed got the better of you. The Nigerian Customs has warned people severally not to patronize these "bargain" cars. How can you buy a car with a market value of N4m for N100,000? The warnings have been on their website and also on Nairaland. Always do your due diligence and if something is too good to be true, it usually is. Besides, on OLX you are supposed to meet the seller of any product physically. |
saliubello: Maybe I spoil your market. Cassava farmers beware of lofty calculations. I know a town about 25minutes drive from Abeokuta. Their main produce is cassava, and I know how the yields & prices flunctuates. I know 2 companies in Ogun state, one extracts ethanol (AGBARA-IGBESA) while the other is a vendor company (OSOSA) to Flour Mills of Nigeria. The 3rd company makes glucose but its wound-up now. If you are close to any of this locations, go for it. My advice watch out for internet based consultants with no fields, they can be misleading. No one's market is spoilt. I will give you some facts. a) The price of gari is used as a gauge of availability and pricing of cassava. Prices of gari and cassava in Nigeria have a cyclical rhythm, being highest in the months from December to May, and prices tending to fall as from June to November. When prices are high, farmers increase production, which invariably leads to a glut in the market and a fall in prices. The easier harvesting in the rainy season when the soil is wet adds to the price drop in the rainy season. When prices fall, farmers will simply leave the tubers in the ground, and then a time comes when the demand outstrips supply, leading to higher prices. b) 80% of cassava production in Nigeria is in the hands of subsistence farmers. This makes it very difficult for large companies to assemble enough cassava to process within the 72-hour window between harvest and decay of tubers. c) There are several dynamics that make it impossible for those who process cassava into starch and glucose to beat countries like Thailand in the international market. The cost of production is so high that by the time products like ethanol, starch and glucose syrup leave Nigeria, the selling cost is way above the international market price. I will end this by attaching a study on On-farm Production Costs of Ethanol done by 2 Nigerian scientists. That will help you explain why the factory you mentioned had to close its doors. No LARGE-SCALE processing plant will breakeven buying cassava from farmers (as opposed to cultivating their farms). This is why mechanization is important. The biggest issue in the cassava market in Nigeria is having to reverse the ratio of cassava farming methods in favour of mechanized farming. It is key! |
I think that in order for cassava farmers to move forward with mechanization, forming cooperatives is the way forward. You can hardly receive loans or grants as an individual farmer, unless you are an OBJ or the Yar'Adua. Even Dangote is into farming. I know he has in excess of 5,000 hectares of pineapples planted that serves as feed stock for his Dansa pineapple product. By the way, do we know that OBJ Farms is among the top 4 cassava starch producers in Nigeria? |
kingagropro1: TME 419 specie can give you 30tons /ha.Very correct. And it is also resistant to the very aggressive Ugandan variant of the cassava mosiac virus. In fact, no Nigerian cassava farmer should ignore the TME 419 variety. |
soladel: Cultivating Cassava commercially is not just what you can get information through browsing, orally or through a medium like this, you need to be close to the expert. Even if you read a manual, farming sometimes don't go the way one plans it.On point, but how many farmers can afford the tools I saw in this YouTube video? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLi6b89psg4 Tractor Planter Harvester ![]() ![]() |

My point is that the information you missed out are very crucial components of the cost of cultivating cassava. I would have expected that you do your homework to give the whole list. Not just put out the cost of few inputs. How does that help others? |
GGfadar: hey fellow10 acres is 4 hectares. What information have you provided here? |
Now this is what I call change of levels with tangible proofs! |
osinachukwu: ASUU is a political branch of apcI don't expect a typical Igbo man to say otherwise. So APC was in existence in 1978 abi? Nonsense. |
saliubello: Dont be carried away by these lofty calculations. These are only for research institutes' farms. You can not predict the price for your harvest. Call 08099685343 for the information you need. But i will suggest you locate the middlemen rather than going to the companies. Reasons are that they pay you cash on spot but with company, you will be paid as a vendor (instalments). But you dont sound finacially bouyant for this. How many hectares you have & where is your farm? You just landed and don't know the context in which I was talking. The person to whom it was directed did. So just waka pass. |
The Unbeatable: FEEDING: my snails eat "chromolena odorata"(Akintola plant), Talinum fruticosum(Water leaf), decaying cassava peels, I heared they eat cocoyam leaf but I have not given them before. I give them ripe Carica papaya(pawpaw). Those are what I use to feed my over 30 snails of 4-5 different breeds.HAHAHAHA! Ignorance is terrible. How can he feed his pigs with the peels where the hydrocyanic acid is fully concentrated? HAHAHAHHA! |
dvdon: I choose not to comment why I think burst condom resulted to their child (clearence peters), so let me keep my comment to my self.Who was using condoms in 1982? |
Why all these deceptive headlines on the front page? It should read: FUTO SENATE ORDERS RESUMPTION OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES. I was a student when Abacha did the same thing and governing councils were opening universities (including my own) left, right and center. But NO ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES RESUMED! So what the hell is this new joke? Abeg moderator better be careful with the words you use! |
