tubbytubby:You should be laid off yourself. How can you come here throwing unsubstantiated allegations, mentioning names and yet you yourself remain anonymous? Let us know you so that if there are fallouts from your allegations, we will hold you to your word. |
The nationalisation of the three banks (afribank, BankPHB and Spring bank) involves recapitalisation by AMCON. The MD of NDIC has said that neither depositors' funds nor the jobs of the staff of those banks will be affected adversely. I hope we can take his word for it and he won't later say he was quoted out of context. |
russy:My brother, there are many intelligent traders here. Just follow what is happening here and you will pick some very good ideas that will take your trading very far. Meanwhile people, this was from the Swiss National Bank Chairman a while ago, Philipp Hildebrand: 2011/08/08 06:04:00 SNB chief Hildebrand says will not accept a further appreciation in the franc without acting E be like say SNB wan intervene o! If you are bullish on the CHF, beware! |
naijababe:You should have shorted immediately after the market open as the pip gainers take profit. BTW, the US Finance Minister (Treasury Secretary) Timothy Geithner is ranting away on NBC right now about the S&P rating. I quote from my forex news feed: 2011/08/07 22:24:00 *GEITHNER SAYS S&P MADE `TERRIBLE JUDGMENT' 2011/08/07 22:24:00 *GEITHNER SAYS S&P MADE `TERRIBLE JUDGMENT' 2011/08/07 22:24:00 *GEITHNER SAYS S&P MADE `WRONG CONCLUSION' 2011/08/07 22:25:00 *GEITHNER SAYS CONGRESS `OWNS' U.S. CREDIT RATING ![]() Look at that last statement. I think Timothy Geithner is getting highly delusional. Has anyone watched the documentary "INSIDE JOB"? It is a must buy so you see how Geithner, Paulson, Greenspan and co engineered the global financial crisis. |
naijaspeak:Sorry to say this to you, but you are probably the biggest dolt on nairaland. ![]() |
denitro:You have to get back to the foreign bank that issued your card. I once had an issue when N20,000 was deducted from my Payoneer Mastercard on a GTB ATM. It was not GTB that I went to. I had to report the issue to Payoneer, who got Hellenic Bank in Cyprus to sort it out. I was told it would take 50 days, and on the 50th day on the dot, I got my money back. Lesson: always be sure that an ATM is paying cash before using it. I usually hang around for someone to first use an ATM before I use it. |
Mr man, if you do not have an allocation from the Presidency or Petroleum Minister, forget it. |
luckyboy1159:You are an ignorant f.ool, yet you do not know it. I have more than 3 sites paying me $30 an article. That they are not commonly listed does not mean they do not exist. Stop posting your ignorance here and enlarge your knowledge. |
Extremely funny that there is so much inferiority complex among other Africans. Nigerians are the best and a typical Nigerian is ten times smarter than a Ghanaian and South African put together. We know it, they know it and the world knows it. Oh, and Ghanaian food? The most Bleep.d up stuff u can ever eat. UGGHHHH! ![]() |
meshpips:You cannot compare the gains or loss of an interest rate differential with a move of 100 pips. I know all about swaps, and in fact, if you go to fxstreet.com, they have a calculator that helps you calculate your earnings on a carry trade over time. The swaps only make sense when you are trading up to 50 to 500 Standard lots like the big dogs do. That is why long term investors factor in swaps into their trades. As far as intra-day traders like me are concerned, swaps are not important. They only mean that for a short trade on the AUD or NZD, you won't gain $10 per pip on a Standard trade. You will probably gain $8.2 if you have a winning short trade. So if like I did, I sold the NZDUSD and made 100 pips from it, why would I bother about swaps? Again, I follow the news because it tells what is about to happen. With it, you can make informed decisions. I was also guided by comments by the NZD finance minister: "intervention is up to the RBNZ" (this was 45 minutes after intervention). On Friday last week and Tuesday, the same guy had made comments that a Strong Kiwi was of great concern to the NZ govt. On the strength of these comments and the eventual intervention, what USD pair do you think I should be selling? EURUSD, GBPUSD, or NZDUSD? Look at the performance of the three pairs in the first 3 hours post intervention. The news is there to guide us. I use it, analyse it and then use it to make rational trades. |
meshpips:Your call was defective from the get-go. In an intervention, it is always good to know which currency the central bank is buying with its own currency. In yesterday's move by the BoJ, they sold close to 500billion Yen and bought USD. After the initial intervention, another round of selling was done at 78.35 (don't ask how I know; I have access to some deadly insider news software). This massive flow of USD buying is what has prompted USD strength, especially in the carry trade currencies of the AUD and NZD. I personally did not trade the USDJPY, but sold the NZDUSD (see my post on this at 3am this morning when the intervention took place). You can see how far south the NZDUSD has moved. Always understand the fundamentals thoroughly before going technical. |
blackgucci:Did you not use a trailing stop? The intervention was massive. |
with 100pips to the good, i wish you all a good night. ![]() |
2011/08/04 02:24:00 BOJ seems to be back in action, |
It is 3.05am. I stayed awake. I just had this gut feeling something big would happen tonight and here we are. The BoJ has just sold 300billion Japanese Yen and purchased USD. I am selling the NSDUSD right now as these are the currencies being traded in teh Asian time zone. |
2011/08/04 01:37:00 Unilateral Japanese intervention shoots USD/JPY more than a big figure to current highs near 78.40. |

5 kids in 12 years. That is an impressive scoring rate for a man. I am not surprised; his libido is something to behold. |
Well, I can confirm to you that the price for selling US dollars is N160 to $1. But this is Abuja price o! |
Everyone knows that the road to Abuja that passes through Okene is always waylaid by robbers. Why should people add to that already clear and present danger by travelling at night? |
There is nowhere in the bible that women are stopped from wearing trousers. Nowhere whatsoever. Clothing is a matter of the tradition and fashion. In the times of Jesus, were men wearing trousers? NO! The traditional Jewish dressing for males is a gown with a girdle. If she was asked to put on a trouser in an operating room to prevent infection, should she put her so called religious beliefs (which I contest because I have never seen it anywhere in the bible where women were told not to wear trousers) over the life of her patient? |
I did not get your message brother. You have to resend it. Or maybe I will contact you via email. |
So what is the nationality of the other "UK most wanted" |
2011/08/02 18:08:00 Fitch Maintains AAA Rating On U.S., Calls For Further Action |
At last. My internet is now back, just in time to meet Obama signing the debt control act of 2011. This Yen strenght everywhere may start to unwind. |
Yes, I am thinking of cracking my modem for universal function. Enough of this rubbish from these guys. |
I have tried for 24 hours to update my monthly plan on MTN, to no avail. SO I have been unable to capitalize on the big moves. That is why everytime they come up with one silly promo, it is like saying to us: "hey you know what, it is ok by us for you to suck our c--k, but open your mouth wider so we can ram it even deeper". I hate those guys with a passion! |
BOMANY:Fantastic question. We are talking of buying dollars in cash and as far as I know, it is still at N165 from the mallams' end. |
heedabs:I will give you a very brief call tomorrow. Cheers. |
