Must a woman be at the saloon every month? Must she buy a new shooe every month? Must she buy perfume and make up kit every month? Must she call everytime?? As long as you tell your woman the truth, she will understand with you unless you go and marry some woman that was spoilt from childhoold with $$$.
This is how it will happen - Since she is at home, she can beg her friendly neighbour to weave her hair with synthetic weavons for N400. China slippers are all over for under N1000. Make up? yes, she can get a set for about N500 and will last her for 3 months. Gele? Buba? Does she have to go to party every weekend? No she don't! When situation improves, she can host her own parties,
Are you from the moon? Listen to yourself.

Can you tell us here whether your wife or girlfriend or both (whichever it may be) begs neighbours EVERY MONTH to do hair with synthetic weave-ons (which by the way, do not cost N400 last time I checked)? Does your wife or girlfriend use China slippers? What kind of make up application lasts for 3 months?

No dey talk like say you no get head! Either you do not have a wife or you do not have a girlfriend, or you just want to come here to talk unrealistic trash.
BusinessRe: Can I Receive Money To My Naira Mastercard by stagger: 10:22pm On Aug 22, 2011
You cannot receive money to either your GTB Naira or Dollar Mastercard. I have tried it before without success. In contrast, I can receive money to my Payoneer Mastercard in three simple steps, and it is processed in 48 hours.

We have a very long way to go in Naija.

Cut your coat according to your size. With N45,000 a month you can still live a quality live and plan for higher grounds:

Housing - N12,500 per month (Decent 1 Bedroom Flat in Ikorodu, Owode, Berger, Akuwonjo etc)
Feeding - N15,000 per month (Take lunch to work from home. This is just you and your wife)
Transportation - N4,000 per month
Clothing - N5,000 (Save this for 2 months and do clothing shopping every 2 or 3 months)
Wife up keep - N5,000 per month
Others - N3,000
Savings - N5,500 (This will increase when your income increases)

Easy to do. Just get use to this routine. When you get married, your wife may bring in some money too. Before she gets a job, make sure that you give her the feeding money monthly.

Hope this helps
This is a joke. OP, anyone that tells you that you can marry and live with a modern-day Nigerian woman on N45,000 is deceiving himself. Ask them to tell you how they much they are earning and whether they are on the same unrealistic budgets as you see above.

Let me single out the woman's N5,000 upkeep as advocated by someone here.

Question:
1) How much does it cost a woman to make an average hairdo? (Let's be honest here please)
2) How much does a female shoe, or gele or buba and iro, or any other type of female dress cost?
3) How much does a female makeup kit or perfume cost (or are you telling me your wife will not make up or use perfume, even if na N800 perfume like FairChild)?
4) How much does a typical Nigerian woman spend on phone calls?

Tell me how all this can happen on N5,000 allowance for a Nigerian wife of 2011.

My guy, go and buffer your earnings to at least twice this amount (i.e. start earning N90,000 minimum). You do not need to change jobs. Augment your N45k income by doing some things at the side. There are some towns in Nigeria that are so hot. Where I used to live in one of the Northern states, the demand for ice blocks in my area was so high that I actually knew someone making N10,000 a day selling ice blocks. Do the maths here.

So do not live in a fantasy world. There are so many posts here that can guide you on low cost businesses you can start that can if not anything, push up your monthly earnings by at least N20k or N30k.

I am just being real with you my brother. Advise no be curse!
PhonesRe: Is A Blackberry Better? by stagger: 8:37pm On Aug 21, 2011
Bandit C.:
Bro. I have no idea where you live but out here in Europe, nobody uses a blackberry phone or even knows where they sell one simply because blackberry phones are rocking pretty old techs and cannot compete anymore with the iPhone and Android Smartphones. I would advice you to go for an Android phone and if you do, please stay away from Samsung phones because their hardware is utter crap decked with plastic cover. I use an HTC Desire HD (check it out) and that phone is a beast, with a snapdragon processor, mature look and some of the best interface on a mobile platform that i have ever seen,so i would advice you to get an HTC Phone. If the Desire HD is too costly for you, you might wanna check out the new smaller Desire S, crazy phone i tell you.

About apps, whoever tells you that a blackberry has more apps than the iOS (iPhone) or Android OS is a straight up clown or has no internet to keep himself up to date. Get an Android Phone and go to the android marketplace to get yourself overwhelmed by the number of apps that are there and most of them are free. There is an app for virtually anything you want (even ones that let you point your phone camera skywards and get detailed information on every airplane that is flying through at that moment, even ones hidden behind the clouds). So i would advice you pick up an android phone.

Then again, if you are in Nigeria, you might want to join others in acquiring a blackberry phone, so that your status would magically be upgraded, lol.
Please preach it to them. I am sick and tired of all these girls wey dey use BB dey make inyanga for everybody in public places, not even knowing that Research in Motion can't even sell enough phones to keep its workforce afloat!

RomanceRe: Guys Are You Afraid Of Girls With Cars? by stagger: 8:09pm On Aug 20, 2011
Silly thread if you ask me. Girls are not interested in whether a guy is riding a car or not if they are looking to get married. It only becomes an issue if the girl is looking for a cash cow. So if a guy without a car sees a girl with one, and marriage is the number one thing on their minds, I do not think this is even a problem here.

BusinessRe: The Wrong Way To Defend The Naira by stagger: 9:59am On Aug 19, 2011
The truth of the matter is that the way things are in the country, the true value of the Naira should be around N180 to $1. Just like it occurred in Britain in 1992 (the so-called Black Wednesday), a day will come when the CBN will be unable to keep using foreign reserves to defend the value of the Naira, and then the currency will experience a free fall. Dollar demand is surging every week, and in a country that continually imports every single damn raw material and finished product, this demand will not abate any time soon.

Continuously using foreign reserves to defend a currency is not a one-stop approach to solving the problem. Like Odiaero has said, some of us have keyed in by engaging in business where we are paid in US dollars. So if the government is not interested in tackling the issue instead of just continuously throwing foreign reserves at the problem in the name of defending the currency, then the problem will persist.

Obasanjo was the one who promulgated the decree that prescribed the firing squad as penalty for treasonable felony, so he could execute Dimka, Bisalla and all others who were implicated in the 1976 abortive coup.

IBB had the power to commute the sentences. Tobias Akwashiki, whose wife (a former actress of the Village Headmaster fame) is now a Senator from Nasarawa State was fist sentenced to death, then had his sentence commuted to life in prison, then given ten years and as IBB was leaving, he set the man free.

So why could he not have saved his bestman for crying out loud, no matter what?

IBB, you will be another Mubarak. I am sure of it, because your sins are many.

I do remember that in my school back then, a particular campus fellowship exco invited a girl who paid a tithe of N100,000 to explain the source of her revenue. She had to reveal in detail how she made the money over a period of 4 months during ASUU strike.

I do not think Farida Waziri is asking or anything extraordinary. Churches as custodians of moral Christian values should regularly seek clarifications on suspicious tithes.

I mean as a parent, if I walk into my 18 year old son's bedroom and I see N1million cash in his wardrobe, do I just keep quiet and thank God for buttering his bread? Ridiculous in the extreme!

My problem with all these World Bank and IMF technocrats is the use of the term "economy" How about improving the lot of Nigerians and empowering the masses economically and not "fixing the economy"?

Living in Abuja makes one easily forget the poverty all around. That is the problem. I think many of these ministers should be made to live in the suburbs so that they are reminded daily of their responsibilities to the Nigerian people.

Your Bank PHB shares is still intact. The buyers of the bank has assured depositors and investors alike that normal banking proceedings continues and there will be no sack nor retrenchment. just bank at your preferred branch with a new name and branding.
Don't misinform people here. Nowhere was the word INVESTORS mentioned in that public notice out out by AMCON. The assurance was given to DEPOSITORS & WORKERS.

Old investors have lost all because the banks technically were insolvent and were bought over by AMCON to keep them afloat.

Russy, just as someone else stated earlier, I like your courage and determination. I was treated very much like you are now when I first started out; you won't believe that even my closest friend back in school who I helped write his whole semester exams (free of charge) when he was incapacitated asked me to pay $1k before he'd teach me!

I was told all manner of things; I would never make it in forex if I was self-thought, but I took d challenge and kept moving, fast forward to the present day, I am doing fine. I won't claim to be a multi-millionaire trader, but I'd say that I'm able to consistently turn in profits every month - and that is the dream of any trader.

You wouldn't blame any trader here for charging you large sums to train you because forex could be draining and they would want to get paid if they would have to put you into their schedule.

With that said, owing to the road I've followed to my present day, and once gone thru what you are now, I'm willing to teach you - and for absolutely free too! Yes you heard that right; for free! There is absolutely no strings attached to it. I'd take the pain to put you through all I've learnt over the years. It would be a pleasure if I see a successful trader in you tomorrow. If along the line you feel you wanna give me just anything at all for my time and effort you can - but you are not obliged to do so. It's all free will!

Now some peeps would doubt the effectiveness of what am gonna teach cos of the 'free' clause here, but if you doubt my methods you can go through the thread and check with my calls.

Why did you quote his response? Anyone asking people to be posting forex signals is lazy. Tomorrow they will turn around to start blaming people for bad trading calls.

Personally I never went to any forex training. I am 100% self-taught, and it took me a lot of years to get to my level where I now consult for foreign trading companies.

Whatever you learn sticks with you for life, and that is the message I am passing across to him. Personally, I do not even have time to teach anyone. What is N50,000 a month to me that I will spend my whole time talking for hours a day for 6 months? That is not even up to 25% of my kids school fees!

Trading is not a joker's game. It is a school on its own and there is too much to learn. In fact, you cannot stop learning.

If you cannot afford it, then you are not ready to trade forex. You cannot live your forex trading life asking people to post signals up and down. Many newbies cannot even interpret such signals.

FamilyRe: House Chores: Should Husbands Chip In? by stagger: 4:08pm On Aug 10, 2011
Anything pertaining to house keeping is the woman's responsibility. If a man decides to help, it is principally what it is: HELP.

Help rendered is not a compulsory stuff. But of course, there are situations where it just makes some sense for a husband to help out.

For example, whenever my wife is out of the country, I do not expect her to come back after a journey of many hours and then enter the kitchen to start cooking, or expect her to go to market same day and then start cooking. That is wickedness.

Personally in such situations, I hit the kitchen and do the cooking. But otherwise, she handles all kitchen and house chore activities while I do what I am supposed to do as a man: providing for the household.

After all, let us face it; many wives earn money and we married men know very well that at one time or the other, we tap into their financial reserves when our own tap runs dry (warning: should not be habitual).
