if out of 100graduates 70-80 percent creates jobs whilst the 30percent get the job isn't that a fair deal and won't that lighten the government burdens?

See the thing with unemployment is that it is a collaborative and joint effort IT's not only for government and so if those who are entrepreneurially inclined produce the jobs, those who are more career inclined can do the work and everyone wins, government and the people, isn't that reasonable?
No not at all, the government are the top dogs when it comes to who and who will make entrepreneurship happen.
How many young entrepreneurs can provide power?
How about roads for business that rely heavily on transportation?
Loans nkor?

See many people run away from some places with opportunities basically because the place doesn't have things like hospitals, road, stores, companies and etc.... forget sometimes there may be opportunities but when constrain of lets say electricity hit you, you may spend half of your profits on electricity.

Some farmer couldn't reach their customers because of bad road.

lack of infrastructures like Schools for kids and also good hospitals are major reason why some people ran away from some areas.

Baba of them all is lack of good capital to start some big ideas, who wan give you 600k to start bread business?

Most entrepreneurs we have in Nigeria today are in there because of they have no alternative, if they find a good job, Omo them go run oh

Good day every one, I'm currently learning Python, I saw this challenge on a webpage to code a password validator with at least one alphabet, symbol, and number, I've been unable to think of anything, and I don't is it that I'm not intelligent enough to be a programmer or I'm just been lazy .

I need advice
Not at all, you just don't understand how a computer thinks.

To validate a password, you need to understand how a computer sees text and what we call string manipulations.
After this you need to know how python can be used to achieve this actions.

Programming is about communicating with a computer using a particular languages as much as there is an interpreter/compiler

I remember when I wrote my dissertation.my contribution to knowledge and recommendations was focused on the academia.i said

*THE ACADEMIA SHOULD TILT ITS CURRICULUM TOWARDS RAISING POTENTIAL GRADUATES TO BE EMPLOYERS OF LABOR INSTEAD OF JOB SEEKERS BECAUSE IF EVERY GRADUATE IS LOOKING FOR A JOB AFTER SCHOOL,WHO ARE THE PEOPLE GOING TO MAKE THE JOB*?

During my defense (to the glory of God) I told my external examiner when he said tell me how your recommendations in your theses is applicable to the Nigerian situation.he said you have 15, minutes to prove yourself and I told him every teacher and lecturer keep saying study hard so you will make a 1st class and get a good job,how about study hard so you will be an employer of labor?

How about study hard so that you can reduce unemployment rate.if you raise 50 students for example to be employers of labor,do you know the multiplying effect that will have on our economy? Look at the Chinese, look at the Lebanese guys look at the Indians that come to Nigeria to do business, some of them aren't even graduates but they're employers of labor because they're skilled, how about raising not just intellects that dont fit into the current reality of the Nigerian situation, instead raise SKILLED INTELLECT

Now look at the consequences of lecturers telling students to earn 1st class or 2.1.we have a lot of them in the labor market, some are fortunate to be employed but there's no job fulfillment and some of them are not maximizing their potentials because the academia only trains Nigerian students to be academic robots not pragmatic thinkers.i have a friend for example sir who finished with a very strong 2.1 in agricultural science he had a CGPA of 4.0 and he is working as a bank cashier.why? Because the academia only told him to get a good grade and job hunting will be easy for him.imagine about a hundred graduates from each university producing Jobs in each of their respective state that is after the nysc and the nysc gives them a start up capital for a push, properly monitored in order not to be misused, think about it sir .

The man (my external examiner) stood up and congratulated me (to Jesus be all the glory)
You don't understand that University training Student to becomes entrepreneurs isn't what will keep people out of job hunting.

The first and foremost thing for entrepreneurship to happen is when an entrepreneur find himself/herself in an enabling environments.

If not, you will get frustrated with time.

Government should provide basic amenities that would facilitate the entrepreneurship mindset.

Hello
We are willing to start a taxi service application
Like Uber and others
Costs and proposals and suggestions
Tnx
You are wrong.
A team will develop the app, it's not a person job except you need it like in a year interval.
Other options is to outsource it to a company.
or you find the teams yourself.

Anyone who tells you he would build uber app single handedly has an ulterior motive.
#Advice.

By the way I am backend developer just incase.

As much as been a biker man is respectable, it is not what anyone should stay in, it should be a stepping to saving for ones career. And as you know it Taxis are different from commercial bikes, infact most commercial bike has been ban from plying major road and in some place you don't find them at all.

When I mean commercials bikes I am not referring to Opay and delivery bikerman and co but to the bikermen we see around every day

So should those being underpaid with no alternative at hand resign heir work to give room for more desperate job seekers to replace them or they should continue to persevere while seeking better opportunities, skills or capital for investment? About your struggling all the days of your life that is not determinant of the salary you receive but how you manage it with your Creators blessings. For even many with big salary struggle financially.
Read properly, where did I mention resign?
So plan to get a better job means resign in your language?

just imagine a barber rendering barbing service of #500 to #1000 per cut, and let's say he barbs for more than 15 people daily. you do the maths
His daily home take will be like 4k(theoretically, I assume customer are coming everytime o)
1. They spend heavily on fuel,
2.They would buy other maintenance equipment

4k times 25 = 100k (excluding sunday)
remove shop like 10k or 15k.

this approximately 85k per month, in reality, they earn about 60k - 65k per month.

How many barber charge 1k so I used #500

Except you're barbing rich men, you will still struggle alot to live day by day.

First correct statement so far in this thread.

Youth wouldn't fight source of their problem instead they will become motivational speaker and run to spiritual leaders for solutions to their wretched job or joblessness.

The rest will reduce their self worth and settle for the less and worst of all become thankful for 80k job and serve their employers like slaves. The senseless of them all will stay in that position for all his working years and would fight hard to remain in such position **spits***;

Yea, cyber security has a big future. Made some research and I'll be going with data science. I wanted to learn python first but someone suggested I learn SQL first for data science. Do you have books on python or SQL that you can share?
Such person don't understand data science. Just learn python basics

variables,
decison,
array,
loop,
functions,
OOP

After this stop reading books and dive into algorithms and application dev and Data analysis, by this you will know what and what not to learn and which books to read and which not to read.

have seen your points, how much do you feel is minimum wage a graduate should earn?
No specific amount actually, I started out with 90k lucky enough but after then I learnt web development and now I don't want to mention my earnings.
All I will advise is try to either improve your certificates, skill just anything that will make you ensure you aren't stuck with low pays.

It kill plans, you won't be able to further education, you can't buy properties at young age, so many problems.

And what of those earning less than 16k in a month and somehow surviving? I think it's about knowing what one wants and working towards achieving it. Be it Business or upgrading oneself with skills then your meagre current salary won't matter then. And also environment matters for a person earning 15k in Kaduna will live a more comfortable life than someone earning 60k in Abuja or 80k in Lagos.
Bro under payment is underpayment whether you living inside a mud house, one thing common is that you will struggle all the day of your life.

80k isn't a salary at all, if you are doing it then fine, make future plan to either develop yourself and start out alone or get a better job.

i didn't misqoute u I am only arguing with your mindset when u said 80k shouldn't be seen as money

Dude everybody is not the same 80k paying job is a job it's called a job because u work and get paid at the day no matter the job

Some people earn 200k per month but do u know the amount of stress they go through? The amount of medications they take? Do u know if their mental state is still intact? Trying to force urself ending double figures and u end up in the grave who lose is it not u?

Please people that are happy with the amount they earn don't force them into doing what they will regret later the pay might be small but it's still a job period

Good bye
Let them remain happy, as for me and my household we are going to reach greater heights.

indeed not everyone has a mindset for greatness. I think that where we find common ground.

Good day

you really understand the business, i also only give out to a family man with kids, and my form was drafted by my lawyer friend and i hold on to my particulars

I just laugh when this people think riders are paupers
Riders are paupers, if they were not why are you not driving yourself.

You guys won't bear the shame to drive instead you will buy a bike and put for hire purchase.

If we remove your gain and money for fuel, how much is the rider making?
perhaps bike riding isn't a professional job, so it isn't fit for an educated man who want to build a life career plan.
A reasonable graduate would only it for shortwhile and gather money to do something reasonable.

The only time I would take any form of riding as a profession is when I plan to someday start a riding company, and that's the career path I want to follow, second option is if I work for a riding firm that pay well and promote staff aside this, count me out.

Don't sell us what you can't buy yourself.

As a graduate if u see 80k job don't collect if people have this mind set of yours i don't think there would be productivity at all in this country

Everybody should just fold hands and say my certificate doesn't permit me to collect 80k
Three things you have misquoted since our arguments.

1. You're saying that I mean poor people are not in other country.

I have never said so, and I only said they were living above the average man here. and I was specific with the countries I mentione which were USA, Canda, China, Uk etc I mentioned them because I don't see them any better than Nigeria.

2. You're saying I said Bsc owners shouldn't accept 80k job
I have never said so, I only advice them not to see it as a job but see it as a stepping stone meaning they should find a plan to help them leave the job as early as possible.

3. you think I am saying those already in the job should quit immediately
I never said so, I only advice them to start making plans to improve themselves and then quit.

Stop misquoting me to make a point

About deciding, I thought I could use people's opinion here on the two fields in deciding. An exposition of data science and cyber security will be okay.

I'm tilting towards data science though..
In my opinion
Data science is the biggest sale point right now and all kind of company are out there looking for who will help them in data collation and manipulate especially business knowledgeable manipulations and statistics tools. On the other hand Cyber security has a big future that will happen in Nigeria, not many people find it important in this part of the world for now but with the rise in use of internet and network and rise in data stealing and corruption , it's importance cannot be replaced, so it has a bright future.

You have comprehension problem, I said the poor ones are rich when compared to us.

Singapore have just 14% of poor people.

China has reduced poverty to a minimum.

USA has about 3% unemployed youth.
