We knew that the first round would be a bye basically for the favourites in the east. It's in the second round that the playoffs begin for them. That goes to show you how far apart the top teams are from the mid to bottom teams in terms of quality. It's in the west that you have fierce contests right from the first round.

It's only LBJ that can go from a 23/17/16 triple double one night to a 38/12/8 scoring performance the next. The most versatile player in the history of the NBA. Truly the GOAT

AD is the primary scorer? According to whom? The last time i checked Lebron has averaged more points in his career than AD has. I thought AD was there to help carry the scoring load. Ofcourse it's absurd. A 27 point per game player keeps giving the ball to some streaky shooters hoping they snap out of it. Such an incredible thought from someone with the highest basketball IQ(supposedly).

AD averaged more points this season, but I'm sure you knew that.

Anyway, say what you want, I'm off to watch replays of that dominant performance by the King.

The only thing we complained about was poor shooting, including AD. And it's not lack of effort that made The Lakers lose the game that day, it's simply poor shooting. What a bunch of crap. Why would you keep giving the ball to someone that's missed 5 open shots. Perhaps his poor shooting was what affected his teammates. The third game for example he was efficient, and that trickled down to his teammates. They shot the ball better. He shot terrible and it's as simple as that. Perhaps he began throwing the ball to his teammates when he realized he's been shooting the ball poorly. This is exactly my point. He's not to blame cos he amassed 16 assists? To this i say yes he deserves some of the blame. Stat padder. Didn't he realize he may have to carry more of the scoring load given his teammates were poor. How many assists did he rack up in game 3, in which they won? 8 assists. That was half of what he had in the first game where they lost by about the same amount. So racking up 20 assists doesn't make you blameless when you lose. Cos it means there's something you didn't do well, which may include stat padding-Racking up 16 assists.

In case you forgot, let me remind you; AD is the primary scorer on this team and it's his job to score the recommended amount of points for us to win the game. So get off LeBron's back. LeBron scored only 10 points in game 2 and we still blew Portland out.

And for you to say that someone shouldn't be given the ball to shoot because he missed his previous shots is absurd.

First picture is from yesterday. LeBron scored a game high 38 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. But look at the measly plus minus beside it...+2

Second frame is from his 10-point game 3 days ago. He had a +/- of +23.

For for someone who has never bounced a basketball in his life to come here and dictate how LeBron should play his game is buffoonery of the highest order. There are different ways to impact a game other than scoring. That's the reason why MJ is their goat. They are blind to all other aspects of the game, they just want the guy who scores the most. When AD scores less he has to be more aggressive. Lebron always makes the right basketball play. If you make a basketball play in the lead up to a loss, you must partake in the blames. I am sure a player of average IQ can realize it when his teamates are shootinh poorly let alone Lebron. No one cares if you pass yourself out of shooting rythm. It doesn't matter who passes, i can only give what i have. In the first game for example, the talk was about AD not being aggressive and his other teammates shooting badly. Sorry but the last i checked Lebron has been shooting badly too. So maybe you should aknowledge that he's mortal and he errs too.

None of his fans blamed AD for not being aggressive, it's haters like you that did that, so stop trying to turn it around like we were the ones who came up with that AD need to be aggressive shiiit. Guys were missing wide open shots, especially KCP who went 0 for 9. So how ever you want to spin it, a guy who amassed 23 points, 16 assists and 17 rebounds in a loss is not to blame. Besides Gobert is not good from the midrange.

I mentioned defense just so you won't pick one over the other because one is clearly better in defense. It's the offensive styles I'm particular about. Gobert is dominant in the paint offensively, whether it's offensive rebounds or put-backs or dunks. The reason he doesn't score a lot of points is because he's not his team's primary focus on offense.

AD on the other hand is more midrange to 3 pointer, in addition to being dominant in the paint. It's obvious that teams would want the guy who can do more.

As a perimeter defender, if you choose not to post me up but instead recede to the 3 point arc, i would be glad you did it, as i know you are taking away shots from better shooters. I can live with a 30% 3 point shooter running out to the three point arc. Such relief. I don't understand the obsession with the 3 pointers. If i was defending a big man like KAT or Porzingis, in that case i may have no choice than to follow him to the three point line. But for AD, heck no. Good riddance.
If you get a big man that can shoot 3s above 35% cool. But you don't go into free agency or into a draft looking for one. It's unnecessary.
Moreso, it's even more unnecessary if you have a great shooting backcourt in Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

Are you telling me that if GS are going for a big man and have to choose between AD and Gobert they'd choose Gobert. Both are stars in their role. Gobert owns the paint, AD can handle the ball and shoot from outside. Both are excellent defenders, all stars and DPOY nominees. You'd take Gobert?

Valid statement. You don't need your big man to shoot threes if you have the greatest(arguably) shooting back court in NBA history. Go to the post and do your work. That's primarily the Job of a center. You've got no business going out all the way to the three point arc. In my book that's for centers who've got no guts. Besides you may be very poor from the 3 point arc, but if you practise and try to master your midrange shots you could be shooting above 40%. Hakeem was 20% from threes, that's partly because he seldom shoots it, which means he doesn't quite practise those kind of shots, but he's as good as anybody else from beyond the perimeter. He was lethal from the midrange. If you are shooting less than 35% from threes- it doesn't matter who you are-you better go and work on your midrange. Apart from Kristaps and KAT that are shooting quite efficiently from 3, the others are shooting below 32%. Why not do your business within 13 ft of the basket? in which case you arel ikely to be more efficient. My point is shooting 3s when you are quite inefficient from the arc is a waste of time. Get closer to basket, where you can be more efficient.

The way the game is going, big men who can't shoot threes won't be able to get jobs in the near future. We're not saying they should know how to shoot so they can dwell beyond the arc, it's just a very handy tool. Having big men who when they move out of the two point zone can drag the opposing big man with him is very valuable. Imagine Javale for instance. If he goes to the three point line the opposing big man can decide not to follow him because he knows he won't dare to shoot from there.

And we're not saying they must be lethal, just be able to shoot. A big man who shoots 30% from beyond the arc is dangerous. That alone is enough to take your guarder wherever you're going, especially when your team needs to spread the floor. And if he can handle the ball and drive to the basket, then he'll be even scarier. Because once you pump fake a big man at the perimeter and he falls for it, he's gone for good. You have about a 2-second headstart to drive to the basket.

Everybody obsessed with shooting threes. What we need is someoen who's decent from the midrange. When you have two incredible shooters i don't know why you need your big man to shoot threes. You especially need the midrange/post shots when those threes are not falling. Na fear you dey fear ni dissuading the Golden state from getting Giannis. . But yet Giannis is not quite good from the midrange so perhaps getting him may not be a good idea.

By extension, one who shoots threes should be capable of shooting mindranges
And a big man who's capable of shooting threes is an added advantage. AD, Embiid, Towns, Porzingis...these guys can dominate in the paint and still be handy beyond the arc

If I'm the Warriors I'm picking a big man in the forthcoming draft. One that can shoot the three. No need going for Giannis.
