A40: A40 is not a wind vane like most of these fanboys. I have always held him to a Higher standard that is why I opined that he underperformed with the Pelicans. We know how to dig up archives too, Lol. You didn't have to be so selective A40: Don't get it twisted. AD should have led the Pelicans to more wins. That is not debatable. However one must also point out the team is playing far worse than even it's floor level. You can't tell me with a straight face you expected the Pelicans to be the second worst team in the West A40: Indictment on his mentality. A #1 pick in his prime should not be joining a team where he is being questioned as the best player. Had he gone to Boston for instance with the season he is having do you think anyone would not have him as a runaway MVP candidate?
AD did not consistently show his ability to lead his team to anything other than the lottery. His first chance to do that and he opts to be a second banana to Bron.
Is he good enough to lead? Lol if he was he wouldn't join the Lakers so that's pretty self explanatory
Great as AD is do you think anyone would ever mention him in the same breath as a Duncan, Dirk or Karl Malone? No! A40: What was the disrespect? That he failed to lead New Orleans? Did we lie?
That Giannis is comparable to him. Is that disrespect?
Because he has the luxury of playing with LeNomad we no go hear word? A40: He won one playoff series in 7 years. That's not good enough for a transcendent talent. Stop making excuses. We saw Dirk lead the Mavs to Finals and multiple series wins with Josh Howard as his second best player
He was supposed to make more than 2 playoff appearances in 7 years. Even the much maligned Harden is doing it with Houston and he didn't let his team crumble when his top 2 options get hurt
I did not agree there was absolutely nothing he could do with the squad? Where are you getting that from? I said perhaps it was not entirely his fault not that he could not do anything with the squad. They are clearly underperforming like they did even with AD A40: Josh Howard was literally the only guy that made All-star in Dirk's first run to the Finals.
What prime?? Is this a joke?? Shawn Marion 33, Terry 34, Kidd was 37 bruh, Stackhouse was 32 back in 06, Butler missed their title winning season. Wait did you just mention Gerald Green? Did he even play?? Lmaooooooo you're name dropping at this point. Tyson Chandler was a cast-off from New Orleans that failed his medical don't try to paint him like he was some star. In isolation these were all role players
AD had Holiday, Tyreke Evans, Ryan Anderson, Eric Gordon. All young and were good enough to be led to playoff contention by a transcendent talent
Monty Williams was their coach and he's hardly a scrub
Harden maximized the limited talent he had, AD underperformed with his. Nothing wrong in admitting this
Yes his 1-2 punch(LeNomad) just happened to be another top 5 player and some would argue still the best player in the league. How many elite players will be teammates with LeNomad and slack? The likes of Giannis, Kawhi did not need LeNomad before running things |

chic2pimp: It works both ways though after all this is the same AD many claimed would have taken the Bucks to the Promiseland last year had He been in Giannis's position. Let's assume anybody said that. At least he's now proving his worth while playing with LeBron. For those who said he couldn't carry a team, what excuse do they have? |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 9:58pm On Mar 11, 2020 |
Just a few months ago, folks here were talking down on AD, about how he had a good team but couldn't lead them to success despite the fact that his stats showed that he was balling out. They said his numbers counted for nothing if he couldn't get the best out of his team.
Now, he plays with LeBron and has similar stats, he's suddenly the one who is carrying the team.
HYPOCRISY OF THE HIGHEST ORDER |

benji93: I guess we may have to look at him differently now, under different circumstances. . I have never doubted his talent though, in fact his talent is one of the reasons why i concluded that his stint at NOP was an underachievement. But there's one more thing i still don't trust about him though. We'll have to wait till the playoffs for that one. However, for now, i can't help but admit that the guy is balling out. We knew he could put up those numbers, but to do that alongside LeBron, as you indicated, is something quite impressive. Of course, AD is now an outstanding player, anything to diminish LeBron |

It's futile. Whatever makes you sleep at night bro |

benji93: The Rose situation and the current situation are not comparable at all. Not even remotely. The bulls led by Rose had a better record that the Heats led by Lebron with Wade and Bosh and you tell me Rose didn't deserver it. That fact alone made him a serious contender. This case is different. Giannis not only has a better record, he leads him in multiple categories too. Now if LAL takes over with the best record, as you suggested, then that's something worth considering. Wait, did you say something at the end there? I want you to be more specific. Are you saying you won't mind LeBron being the MVP if the Lakers have more wins than the Bucks? |

LBJ is the best player on his team, but he is not the most valuable. I hope you catch it. Whatever makes you sleep at night man |

Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 9:26pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
Eruditor: No 2 players will have the same volume so analytics sets a benchmark to judge players. As a result, Klay will be adjudged better for all players who have taken 8 shots and beyond.
The best 3pt shooter is judged based on % from volume taken.
Or else a player just needs to score 50 pts in one game and refuse to play again so his ppg will be 50. You're just beating around the bush. What do you mean by "better for all who have taken 8 shots"? So how do we judge who is the best shooter overall? |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 6:34pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
benji93: The argument is about the weight. Who has contributed the most to LAL's success statistically? And please don't bring up "You have to watch LAL games to see who contributes more" What do you mean statistically? LeBron contributes over 50 points per game by way of points and assists. His rebound numbers are not dwarfed either by AD. The counts is 7.8 to 9.4. Steals is 1.2 to 1.5. Points is just a difference of one. I told you that box scores could be deceitful. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 6:27pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
benji93: But honestly can you tell me how many 3 pointers Howard attempted and how many he made. The sample size is so small that the NBA doesn't even remember. . Perhaps they just did that hoping no one would notice. And your submission on Judging the best 3-point shooters based on FG% is bogus. Where did you get it from? The status quo hs always been volume and FG%. I hope we don't revisit this issue again. Just forget this Howard thing. Your argument is quite laughable. Volume is relative. Someone who shoots 6 a games is regarded as a volume shooter, as well as someone who shoots 12 a game. There's no set number to determine who a volume shooter is |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 5:55pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
Eruditor: Nobody is saying AD is the MVP. They are only saying LAL success is down to those 2 players. So LBJ has to make his case against AD before thinking about Giannis.
Just like when people rushed to pit LBJ with Jordan, Charles Barkley was one of those who said, when did LBJ pass Kobe to even be on the table with Jordan? Oh, so you mean the success of the Bucks is solely on Giannis? Middleton played no part? Listen to yourself. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 5:53pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
benji93: Don't tell me that's what you believe ooo. I know the angle you are playing. . Well played. But statistical analysis says sample size does not help your argument. The guy is shooting a whooping 60%, and Lebron won't encourage him to shoot more? So why the hell is Dwight's name there and not KCP? That's just what makes it funny. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 5:52pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
Eruditor: Like Bradley was not the best player on both ends of the floor? Or where was Bron when LAL took the lead in the 3rd quarter? Why not ask me where Bron was in the 4th quarter? |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by steady986(m): 5:48pm On Mar 10, 2020 |
Eruditor: No it does not.
The player who took one freekick and scored it. Has 100% conversion of freekicks.
The player who took 20 and scored 15 has only 75%.
That is why the best 3pt shooters at judged by % and volume not either. No. The best 3pt shooter is judged by percentage, not volume. If Harden attempts 12 3pts a game and makes 4, is he as good as Klay who attempts 10 and makes 4? Or if Harden attempts 15 and makes 5, is he better than Klay who attempts 10 and makes 4? |

Eruditor: AD is suffering the same thing that anyone who ever played with Bron suffers from his fanboys. They give him all the credit. Admittedly, he was very good in both games. But without AD in both games they don't win either. Also, without Bradley and the concomitant no-show from Lou Will, they don't win the LAC game. But see who the narrative is about. What you just said is the equivalent of saying that salt is salty and pepper is peppery. |

benji93: Probably true, but that's not enough, he's got to produce offensively too. He got 2 points in the Bucks game. Yes 2 points. That was egregious. . He's been blunt offensively against Clippers as well. Green had 0 points, Howard had 0, Caruso had 0, Kuz had 8. If you have a hot had, we gon give you the ball. Bradley played 33 minutes, which is unusual. Rondo played 22 minutes, which is unusual. They were both good scoring and playmaking. The points could have been spread across if Bradley wasn't scoring. |
