Yes.

IRCC understands this right?

@bolded. wow. Direct her to this thread. @bankyh1905 in his infinite wisdom, armed with PPR, is ready to answer any questions! cheesy

winner01:

Thanks. That has been a concern because due to the information I was given, I was planning to use only one year experience from when I completed my last degree which was Aug 2018.
But if it's allowed to use years of working experience while on school, that's even great.
The person who gave me the information also has 3+ years working experience but finished her masters April 2019 and she's done her ECA report, so she's waiting for April 2020 to be able to claim 1 year working experience.
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by Stencil: 11:08pm On Feb 05, 2020
Skilled work experience during studies OUTSIDE of Canada does count as long as it was paid and NOC 0,A,B.
This is according to IRCC and several students have got PPR this way.
It might not be common in some parts of the world, but in the western world, going to school full time and working full time is quite common.

vllar:

Yes trueBut the question was whether he or she could claim full work experience while schooling.
You can only claim full experience if your lecture days was on a weekend.

We need to be careful with the information we fill on our forms

I think the bone of contention is whether she could claim points for it. She can. Full or part time, she can.

vllar:

That might be a part time job
It all depends on the numbers of working hours/day
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by Stencil: 5:13pm On Feb 05, 2020
You can claim Foreign (outside Canada) work experience while in school.
Congratulations on your new CRS score.
Evaluating only Msc is perfect. That's what you're getting points for.
@Bolded, feel free to delete that person's contact info. undecided This thread permits you.
Makes me wonder how many others are out there in your shoes.

winner01:

Are you saying I claim years of full time working experience even while I was doing my MSc full time?
If so, this can shoot my CRS score to 493.
I was told by someone that I have to start counting years of work experience from time of last certification (which in my case is August 2018) and that claiming years of Full-time work experience while studying Full-time will raise eyebrows.
Additionally, I did not evaluate my Bsc, only Msc so this shouldn't be a problem right?

Hi there, welcome! I would try my best to answer some of your questions. Please note that Page one of this thread should be your "bible".

1. Good job on your IELTS results.
You get maximum points for your work experience.
Your bachelors degree might be an issue (points wise) [edit; see point 2]
Go here to calculate your CRS score. Quick summary of the process.
get2udex:
Hello, I just found this page today, and would appreciate if someone can offer me some detailed help.
I was able to make an 8.0 IELTS, Bachelor's degree, 4years working experience

2. I going to assume she is younger than you. You stand a better chance applying with her as the Primary applicant. You could apply as a common law partner (you have to prove this) or get married (court wedding) and apply together (less hassle).
She gets points from her siblings too!
My partner (we are doing this together not married though) has 3years experience in the UK, and a Master's degree, she has siblings in Canada.

3. Unless you are considering PNP (provincial nomination), this isn't a relevant detail.
I have experience in Software tech, Business Development and Manufacturing.

Don't worry! Get a notebook and take notes. Do some research on here and on google. If you can't find an answer, post here and someone will help out!
Honestly, I don't seem to have a low level understanding about how the process works.

All that isn't required for gift deed.
Please keep things simple.

Gift Deeds Explained. (Page one had this information)

Thecannylady:
Good evening everyone. I am doing a gift deed for my POF(coming from my dad). I believe I need to show a proof of our relationship. I don't have a birth certificate. All I have is a declaration of age..will this be enough in addition to his International passport and my wedding certificate which carries his name as my father? Please help!

To claim sibling points, he has to currently live in Canada. Unfortunately, they will find out if he isn't.
PS: Please edit your post and delete the document attached. For your own sake.

oluwamitomisin:
Can anyone please advise me? I am filling out my ITA, and I indicated that I have sibling in Canada. But he doesn't maintain an address there already as he's away in another country completing his PhD. He's been to Canada to pick up his PR card anyway.
Items required of me to as proof are:
1. proof of PR
2. proof of residency in Canada
3. proof of sibling relationship.

Your work experience does not have to be in the same NOC
You can combine NOCs.
Just make sure that you worked in one of the NOCs for one year continuous.
Many applicants have successfully combined 3 to 4 NOCs and got PPR. There is no limit in the number of combinations.

Rutee1:

Hello, does this mean one can use NOCs from different industries say Pharmaceutical and Banking (changing career situation...lol). I am in a similar situation and haven't gotten a definite answer to this despite a lot of research.

I'd really be glad to hear from you and any other person that has an answer to this.

It's so bad out there. They're either sharing Jollof rice among themselves while asking people to wait or shouting at each other and other innocent victims or telling people how they don't have booklets/can't find their applications. It's a scene out there..smh.

I can send the link for Montreal if you PM me.

Jesusbabygirl:
Thanks for your response. Lol @ "please don't say Atlanta". I heard TERRIBLE stories about Atlanta embassy, so NO. I am looking at New York because I believe that is the only Nigerian embassy here with the option of expediting. Glad to know someone at least knows about the Montreal VO. Do you by chance know if there is a Post AOR group for the Montreal VO?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 9 by Stencil: 8:50pm On Jan 22, 2020
You can claim 3 years work experience. With at least one year continuous.
You need to provide 3 different work experience letters.
You will need 3 different NOCs as they seem to be in different fields.
Job description determines your NOC not the job title.
Find your NOC here

MedellinCartel:
My people, I have a question that needs clarification from the gurus in the house. I plan to apply for the PR program but what I am yet to clearly understand is the NOC and job listing.
So far, my official work experiences are as follows
1 year as a chemistry teacher during nysc
1 year as a management trainee in quality assurance with loads of projects
1 year and counting in supply chain management (my current career path, I switched)
How many years of work experience can I claim and with which NOC?

Montreal takes an average of 8 months to approve applications (unfortunately). APR/MAY AORs are now getting PPR.
Which state are you looking to renew in? Please don't say Atlanta.
The passport offices typically give you the option to expedite the process. Maybe you could explore that.

Jesusbabygirl:
Hello house..please I have a question and will appreciate a response from anyone with similar experience or knowledge.
So I am post AOR (Was 5 months yesterday. I am with Montreal, Quebec VO which I am yet to see someone else on this thread say is their VO). Anyways, to my question. My passport has exactly 6 months to expiration (Expires July 23, 2020). Now, to renew it here (currently in the US), I have to make an appointment (which will most likely be in a month's time) and then travel to another state to the embassy, then wait another 4 - 6 weeks to get the new passport. That makes me nervous because what if COPR comes during that time. So, my question is, do they always ask for a new passport automatically once the one submitted has less than 6 months to expiration?

First of all introduction.

I’ve been a silent follower and this forum has been of very immense benefit to me. I’m pre ITA.

After a second IELTS, I did an EOR because my writing was still low. God gave us the first W of 2020 when my EOR was successful and my writing was increased from 6.5 to 8! Bye bye to IELTS! CRS 473. Waiting patiently for the next draw in 2 hours. Praying for ITA.

The rest of your educational history goes to personal history post ITA, so you aren't omitting anything.
Only include documents that you evaluated, in this case, your MSc.

usmee:
Thank you bruv, however I did my Bachelors degree in Nigeria, do you think it will be a problem since I didn't evaluate it more provide it as part of educational documents bearing in mind that I only used my highest level of education which is MSc in the UK.

Documents needed to prove our common law relationship can include:
Letters showing same address (bills, bank statements etc)
Lease agreements
Joint bank account statements
Drivers license showing same address
Proof of relationship - Pictures, Flight tickets, Hotel bills etc

Advice:
Proving a common law relationship is sometimes quite tasking. Another option would be to either get married in court (nothing fancy) and apply together OR apply single and get married post AOR (CRS score is unaffected).
If applying as married lowers your score then you might want to wait until after AOR to add them to your application. If they boost your score, go on and have your PPR wedding!

kniru:
Hello friends,
Please how does the common law partner works, how do I prove my GF is a common law partner.
Thanks

Good evening guys. I received my ITA earlier this month and I have 2 questions pls
1. I did my MSc in the UK and I only did WES for my UK MSc which is my highest qualification, so I want to know if I will have to upload my WAEC and BEng when uploading my educational document.
You only upload what you evaluated.

2. I plan on getting married later this year, does my wife to be have to write IELTS too or can I just add her to my profile and at what point in time can I do it?
Thank you so much for your help thus far.
I suggest getting married after AOR and then add your wife. This way your CRS score shouldn't be recalculated and she wouldn't need to write IELTS or evaluate her degree.

I work in my brother in law's company. it will be 3 years in august, before then I worked in customer care but that job doesn't fall under the eligible noc types for EE so I want to use only my current job. Is that going to be a problem?
I don't see why it should be. As long as it is in an eligible NOC, you were paid and you can get the requested letter, you should be fine. Since it is a family business, I would take proactive steps like including paystubs/checks or show salary inflows into the account, this helps you immensely.

Will I still have to get work reference for the past job?
You only get work reference letters for jobs you are claiming points for. The rest goes into personal history. Short answer, No.

Also in this current job, getting a work reference won't be a problem at all but we don't get payslips. Can I make do with just the work reference? Do I absolutely need to get payslips cz it's really not going to possible.
Pay-slips are not a requirement when applying for EE, people include it to solidify their applications. How were you paid? If you were paid in cash, please see page one for a sample Cash Salary Certificate. Include your bank statement showing salary deposits, this would be very helpful to your application.

I hope this helps. Good luck with everything!

I'm going to focus on Express Entry when answering your questions.

1. You get max points for 3 years.
2. Not really relevant to EE points
3. You're not single if you have a "hubby". Spouse unaccompanied is what you'd apply as.
4. Proof of funds would be for 4 people. "Hubby" is a part of the family, POF is for the entire family, accompanying/un-accompanying.

With the information you provided, you have a CRS Score of 447 [IELTS - 8777 - LRWS].
This can be improved in several ways. Please play around with the CRS tool.
If you're good with languages, you can try French. With CLB 7, your scores should go up to 487. Please click here to visit the TEF thread.

Please do your due diligence and verify the information provided. I wish you all the best!

ifyjip:

1. 3years work experience (2010 -2013)
2. Opened Photography studio which was registered in CAC in Oct 2018. I'm a photographer.
3. Single ( hubby not going). 33years now. Highest qualifications Masters
4. Advise me generally. The Proof of fund for 3people Express entry and PNP is scary.

Apply single and marry her post AOR. Your CRS score would be unaffected.

WiseYoungMan:
Gurus in the house, please i have a question.

I have a girlfriend i intend to get married to within this year, presently i'm in the pool with a score of 478, i tried to re-calculate my score as "married" and i got a score of 451, considering that she hasn't done ECA or IELTS.

My question is this, when is the best time to add her to my application? We don't want to go through the stress of ECA and IELTS for her.
Considering the score factor, can i safely add her Post AOR or Post PPR?

Thanks.
