Quick tip as several people have made this mistake..

When you get to this question : Was more than half the study program English or French as a second language courses?
Answer NO, you won't get points if you answer Yes.

Good luck

Find your NOC.

As said before, your job description determines your NOC not your job title.

Here is what CIC says about Proof of employment letters. Read more here.

The following documents are mandatory for each work experience declared:

A reference or experience letter from the employer, which

◘ should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),

◘ should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits; and
if the applicant is self-employed, articles of incorporation or other evidence of business ownership, evidence of self-employment income and documentation from third-party individuals indicating the service provided along with payment details (self-declared main duties or affidavits are not acceptable proof of self-employed work experience).

Adva45:
Someone asked me if it is true that on one's reference letter, the company's email must bear the company's domain name for ppr.
I want to confirm for him.

S- 8.5

Use this to calculate your score manually. It will help you see each allocated point and possibly help you determine what you're missing.

This will also help anyone looking to see how many points they'd gain in different scenarios. Eg: With or without spouse

I would say don't worry about that now, if they need you fill one, they will send an ADR.
There are people who proactively submitted one with their application and still got an ADR for the same thing.

Good day guys, please I’m new to the nairaland thingy and i have a question, i was denied a us visa earlier this year and answered yes to the statutory questions about that. Well, there is something called first hand experience, which is what I am looking for. You might live in a little hole as you are the only one that has responded impolitely among the many people that have responded to me positively on this forum.

I started on Monday and I will probably have more information on this by September.

I leave you in peace if that is how you are.

I have learnt a lot from others on here.

This is subjective. It depends on the field of work.
Look for jobs in your field and see what the qualifications are.
In the requirements section you’d see a list of things you should have to submit an application.
Indeed.ca and LinkedIn are good places to start.

Triplezero50:
Maybe my post wasn't clear.
The couple has gone beyond calculating CRS scores. The point they have is high enough without the spouse's masters evaluation. It's just that they already started the process. So they want to know now if the evaluation will be useful when they get approved and they land in Canada. Will the spouse need the report to get a job in his field? This is the main question. Does everyone, regardless of whether they used it to add to CRS or not need to still evaluate their certs for job search after landing?

If he doesnt need it, since his evaluation can still be modified, he can switch it to course by course evaluation because we know he definitely needs that one for certification later.

Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by Stencil: 6:59pm On Aug 26, 2019
Unfortunately you’d have to wait if you want to claim 3 years of work experience.
The evaluation process takes a while and you might clock 3 years during the wait.
Your ECA has to be done before you get into the pool anyway.
If 3 years is only 2 months away, I think it is worth the wait to get those extra points.

chibabe25:
Hello All,

Please I'd like to get a clarification. In order to get the maximum points based on years of experience, must the 3 years be before ITA or it can still be counting pending when the whole process is done?

I did my NYSC in 2 companies; spent 4 months in one and 6 months in the other and I currently have about 1 year 8 months experience post NYSC. This totals 2 years 4 months as at now. Though all my credentials are yet to be fully evaluated by WES. If I give it till the end of the month, it will total 2 years 10 months (though for some reason, I don't want to include the 4 months experience).

When I tried to use 2 years in computing my points, I dropped a whooping 25 points and my points were low.

What can I do? Kindly advise.

Thank you

Calling CIC - Steps

1- CIC call centre
+1 613 944 4000

2- English press 1

3- immigration press 1

4- transfer to citizenship and immigration processing application press 1

5- status or processing times press 1

6- become permanent resident press 2

7- application starts with E press 2

8- then enter application number (without the letter E) followed by #

9- listen to the entered number and press 1 to confirm

10- enter the year of birth and then listen the entered number and press 1 to confirm

11- hear the details

12- then press 1 to check status (there will be a pause)

13- hear detailed status at the end press 0 to speak to agent

Use Skype or Google hangouts or any international number service

You might get a prompt that your call would be disconnected, just stay on the line.
If you somehow get disconnected, call back and start again.

It helps to ask specific questions otherwise you’d get generic answers.
“Eligibility, Security and Criminality” ask about these.
PPR awaits us all smiley

From your POF account.

amaya21:
So, my POF is with one bank. However, I did transfers from my business account to that account, as well as from my salary account. My husband also transfers to it. Do I need the bank letter and statements for all those other banks? Or just the one where the POF is being kept? I'd rather not complicate things but then again I want to provide enough info.

Please check this link for more information about Proof of Funds.
Everything you need to know is on there.
CIC never requested Bank statements, people just include it, most times to answer questions before they are asked.
The Letter from the bank is very important.
Many have got PPR without bank statements, however, I suggest including it to help you sleep better at night.

amoskitto:
Thanks for this clarification.
I actually thought that a Bank statement was sufficient. So does this mean that what I need is a letter from the Bank and not the Bank statement? And do I need to get this for all my Bank accounts or just the one I need to demonstrate proof of funds?

The bank stating your balance per month should still not matter.
Most people don't have the entire proof of funds sitting in their account (including the Officer(s) that would look at your case).
That is why there is an option to be gifted the money.

code7x:

Oh I got it now. I actually thought the bank will state my balances for all the months, which got me concerned (cos me I no get personal money o). Thanks for the education
