In the wake of a recent clash between Deji Adeyanju, the director of new media at People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Olusegun Dada, a volunteer with the presidential media team at a lounge in Abuja, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce admonished youths to refrain from such divisive actions. The senator representing Bayelsa East senatorial district advised that young people should relate with one another with courtesy without placing undue emphasis on religious, political and ethnic affiliations. “Only foolish youths fight each other over APC/PDP,” he said, noting that there was no substantial difference between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the PDP. The senator also pointed out the fact that there were no youths in the federal executive council, to buttress his assertion that neither PDP nor APC would fight over youths. He therefore called for more collaboration among youths. The chairman of the Silverbird Group further urged youths to note that by fighting each other, they fall prey to the ‘divide and rule’ tactics of the elite who would surely bypass them in selecting new leaders. Two days ago, Vera Sidika hinted that she will no longer be part of the TV series Nairobi Diaries, a show about socialites and the luxurious lives they lead. Today, she confirmed the rumours that she is finally done with Nairobi Diaries, addressing the issues fans have with her character in the reality TVshow, and emphasising that it was all scripted by producers. She said.... 'It's not a rumor, I am No Longer on Nairobi Diaries. Got my Mind made up. For those asking why is it my business questioning people about stuff; kindly ask the producers. I do what I'm asked to cause its work at the end of the day but people judging & claiming u poking your nose on people business when it's not as it looks is sad. When u watch ask yourself why wasn't I given a chance to talk, where was my confession...Lies & Betrayal is something I can't take. I will not be used or let anyone ruin or damage my brand. With that said, I'm not going 2 be on Reunion nor Season 2. Either way, I still love you all.I'll update y'all on more projects to come...Soon. As for now, Adios Nairobi. However, one of the stars of the show Stacey Pendo (who has had real life confrontations with Sidika) denied claims that they are given scripts and added that the show would do much better without Sidika. In January, Pendo and Sidika got into a physical fight when she allegedly emptied the contents of a glass on Vera. Standard Digital reported that the fight was linked to Davido, who had allegedly dated the two women. And now, some of Vera’s fans are voicing concerns about how Sidika and Pendo fought on the show over Davido. “What shocked me was how you would call Pendo to interrogate her and go on and on about Davido,” a fan named shirohgee commented on Vera’s page. In response, Vera clarified that it was all the producers pulling the strings. “@shirohgee I didn’t even call anyone; the producers called her,” she said, “…Girl, my brand is better than this. Working on my own shit now.” So that’s how Davido traipses all over the continent, causing wahala? LOL! NB:The first pic above is Vera Sidika while the 2nd is Stacey Pendo. See How Ali Baba And Julius Agwu Reacted To AY's Marriage Crash(pics) A Trezzy Blog reader has brought our attention to Ali Baba's Instagram post from yesterday about women that remain in abusive relationships. His followers have become accustomed to him writing lots of short notes and relationship advice on social media. So people didn't pay much attention to this particular post. Some of Ali Baba's followers believe the post (below) was directed at comedian AY Makun and his wife Mabel, who were at the center of a media storm yesterday when news of their collapsed marriage filtered in. Ali Baba posted a lengthy story about a violent relationship/marriage that ended up with one person dead and the other in jail. The exact time he posted the story on Instagram, corresponds with the time news of AY's marriage broke online. Although many have insinuated that AY's marriage crashed as a result of infidelity from both parties, some of Mabel's friends have been dropping comments online and on social media, hinting that domestic violence was the root cause of the breakup. They claim AY was always beating Mabel. Below is what Ali Baba wrote on his IG page yesterday. Read it and figure out if he was referencing AY's marriage or not. "People can be wicked. They know you are dying but they will be encouraging you till you kill yourself. I know you know that this picture is just to give you the humor before I sink in the message. Many people we call friends really are not. They will watch you fall into a pit, just to know how well you can handle it. "The friends who see what you are doing and advise you may be few. But then again a son once said 'The heart is not so smart'. So listening to friends can be detrimental. Bad friends that is. Sometime in 2010, I advised a lady, on Facebook to leave her man. Who was beating her blue and black. He will go to her workplace and drag her on the floor. "This was not even a husband and wife matter. The whole over sabi Christians and non Christi'anus' on my page unfriended me and asked since when did I become a marriage counselor. Some blogger even used me to shine. Because when she posted it, the ones that were abusing me did so with so much venom. Others said counselor counsel thyself. I let it be. Because as they say, what an elder (or someone with experience sees) the child (ignorant) can't even if they climb a ladder. "Anyway fast forward to 2013, I then heard that they truly went ahead and got married and her friends all collected Aso EBI. It was the LORD'S doing. One of the people who called me names even sent me a picture. I replied congratulations. She replied, "You thought you were God". I was humbled. I had to agree that people could change. I regretted my advice to her. I saw them at a dinner I worked at as an MC In February last year. They were cool together. I repented again. "So you can imagine how i felt when I got the news today that the worst had finally happened. I called the couple who had the event in February to just touch base. And I was told in the Nigerian way, "Ali remember that couple that came from overseas for our dinner?" Ehen. "It's her memorial on April 27th". Eyaaaa, she died? "So you did not hear? The husband stabbed her to death few days after they got back to Houston. He is in jail now sha "... I still repent!" Also, comedian Julius Agwu reacted to the crashed marriage. The first photo above was posted by Ali Baba while the second was posted by Julius Agwu. Source: http://www.trezzyblog.com/2016/02/is-he-referencing-ays-crashed-marriage.html

Yesterday Senator Ben Murray-Bruce shared a photo of himself hanging out with Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, and he sensationally captioned the photo which shows them laughing at an intimate event. “Hanging out with Chibuike Amaechi, dinomelaye and Senate Minority leader, Senator Akpabio,” he said. Recall that in early February, Murray-Bruce and Rotimi Amaechi got embroiled in a bitter social media fight which saw their respective fans exchanging blows on Twitter, defending their favourites. The feud started when the Bayelsa politician called out President Buhari over the comments he made in his Telegraph UK interview. “Your own minister spent ₦80 million on a one day dinner,” Murray-Bruce tweeted at President Buhari, referring to the allegation that Rotimi Amaechi spent N80 million in organising a dinner for Nobel laurete,Wole Soyinka adding, “yet it is your citizens you accuse of being criminals #IAmANigerianNotACriminal” And the Transport Minister didn’t take kindly to being called out on Twitter. In his response, Rotimi Ameachi dared Murray-Bruce to mention his name. “A coward who is not bold enough to name the minister that he alleged criminally spent N80M on dinner is unfit to sit in our senate chambers,” Amaechi said. “I will not respond to innuendos. Be courageous, name the minister. We know you talk here & do ‘siddon’ look where you are elected to talk.” Well, it obviously is water under the bridge as the politicians from the top rival parties are now chummy chums, and Murray-Bruce reminded Nigerians that there are no permanent enemies in politics. Leaders of Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have expressed commitment to a”stable oil market” and a “rebound of oil price.” At a bilateral meeting between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia in Riyadh hosted by the ruler King Salman Bin Abdul-Aziz, the two leaders accepted the fact that their two economies are tied to oil and that all cannot be well with both countries when then the world oil market is unstable. They therefore committed themselves to doing all that is possible to stabilize the market and rebound the oil price. The two leaders who engaged in extensive discussions on regional and global issues also agreed that terrorism posed a common threat to their states and would require close cooperation to prevail over the threats. President Muhammadu Buhari who was making his first pronouncement on the invitation to join the coalition of Islamic states against terror spearheaded by the Saudis congratulated the Kingdom on its formation. “Even if we are not a part of it, we support you. I must thank the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the recent creation of a coalition to address the menace of international terrorism. Nigeria will support your efforts in keeping peace and stopping the spread of terror in your region. This is in consonance with our own commitment and on-going efforts in seeking to stamp out Boko Haram terrorists from the West African sub-region and Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC),” the President said. Speaking on global terror generally, President Buhari said that “international terrorism made a statement by attacking one of the advanced countries by carrying out an attack on Paris in which 130 were killed. Now we have to come together to find a common solution to the problem of terrorism.” He thanked the Saudi government for it continuing support to Nigeria in the fight against terrorism. Turning to the menace that Libya has turned into, President Buhari regretted that the late Libyan leader Muammar Ghaddafi recruited, trained and armed citizens of many states in the Sahel region. With his fall, these mercenaries have returned to their countries, “doing nothing but to shoot and kill.” He cited Burkina Faso and Mali as the main victims but expressed happiness that the countries neighboring the Lake Chad have tightened their ranks to finish off the Boko Haram threat. “Luckily, we have cultivated our neighbors. We are now working together against Boko Haram, otherwise the problem would have become worse.” He and King Salman hoped that the Libyan factions will soon see reason to reunite and restore fully their own country so as to save the world from further terrorism spin-offs from that country. The leaders also focused on trade between their states and agreed to give fresh impetus to the joint commission previously established in order to boost commercial and other activities to unify their peoples. In his remarks, King Salman commended the progress made by Nigeria in combating terrorism and promised to give further support and assistance. He welcomed the support of the Nigerian government for the new ant-terrorism coalition and implored the President to consider its full membership. King Salman pledged his full support and cooperation to Nigeria under its present leadership and directed all agencies of his government to follow up on the discussions. “I now instruct my team to go and sit down with your relevant agencies to push forward cooperation between our states,” the King concluded by saying. The founder of The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua, has donated the sum of N5million to Mr. Sunday Udoh, whose wife was shot dead by police in Lagos State last year. Prophet T.B. Joshua counseled Mr Udoh that he should be consoled in knowing his wife died after returning from church. He further encouraged him to continue worshipping in his church, adding that one should stay where God has placed him. Below is what he said... “One moment was all it took. One bloody, harrowing moment and the world of Mr Sunday Udoh literally came falling apart. The body of his beloved wife lay strewn on the floor as blood flowed from the gaping wound on his jaw. Two brutal gun shots and then deafening silence… Mr Udoh, his wife and children were returning home from a prayer meeting in their church when tragedy struck in the cruelest, most heinous of ways. Halted by members of the police, who were clearly intoxicated by alcohol, the sum of N2,000 was rudely demanded from Sunday. Insisting he had no cash with him, he was grudgingly waved on to proceed. However, moments after sitting down in his vehicle, two gun shots rang out. One struck his shoulder and then pierced his lower jaw. The other killed his wife instantly. The baby she carried fell alongside her lifeless body, three young children witnessing the ruthless killing of their dear mother in cold blood. No tears could replace what had been so callously taken away. Confronting the policemen responsible, Sunday received nothing more than threatening words before they took to their heels. Nearly six months down the line, the body of Mrs Udoh’s wife was still lying in the mortuary. Their children, traumatised by the horrific incident, had left school – the eldest daughter developing epileptic fits in the wake of the senseless killing. Although the policemen responsible had been dismissed from their workplace and human rights groups had protested and called for justice, the family were still suffering. Sunday was incapacitated, unable to work as he struggled to overcome his injuries. Two major operations later and the wound on his jaw still leaked pus and his shoulder remained numb. Although not a member of The SCOAN, Sunday was advised that if he could come to the Arena of Liberty, God would use Prophet T.B. Joshua to assist him both physically and spiritually. After sharing his ordeal, Emmanuel TV viewers and partners around the world wrote in, promising to support the family to start life afresh. Prophet T.B. Joshua announced he would give the family N5 million, counseling Mr Sunday that he should be consoled in knowing his wife died after returning from church, stressing that the manner in which death comes should not be focused on. He further encouraged him to continue worshipping in his church, adding that one should stay where God has placed him. “You are because I am; I am because you are.” Source: http://www.trezzyblog.com/2016/02/tb-joshua-donates-n5-million-to-man.html

Fairy tales are said to have a happy ending, but for Olajumoke Orisaguna the happiness seems infinite. Ever since she photobombed TY Bello’s shoot of Tinie Tempah for ThisDay Style, her story has captivated the world and the goodwill continues to pour in. The latest act of generosity which has been bestowed upon Olajumoke is the gift of education for her two children. The 27 year old mother of two was today hosted by Stanbic IBTC as Standbic IBTC Trustees set up an educational trust fund for her children, Grace (5) and Precious (16 months), to the tune of N.1.5 million each. The overjoyed Olajumoke and her husband Sunday were both present to receive the awards, and a sleepy Precious smiled her way through the ceremony. While it has been misconstrued that Olajumoke is set to be a brand ambassador for the leading financial institution, Stanbic IBTC has in actual fact simply taken on the responsibility of managing and disbursing the funds on behalf of the children to ensure a hitch-free ride for them through their educational careers. This move is part of Stanbic IBTC’s ongoing Corporate Social Investment initiative that seeks to move the lives of everyday Nigerians forward, which includes projects like #OutForALimb which was designed to provide prosthetic limbs and an educational trust fund for five children named Basirat Adams, Lekan Adeniyi, Semilore Kosoko, Ayoifeoluwa Ayodele and Isaac Joseph Osumah until the age of 18. Senator Ben Murray-Bruce is bruised and this time he wants you guys to see how far he has gone to GrowTheNaira. He thinks we are fooling ourselves by blaming the government for our woes. See His CommonSense rants below: Many Nigerians are complaining about the constant fall in the value of the Naira and they blame the Government. But is the government really to blame? In truth, our insatiable appetite for all things foreign is to blame. I always fly Arik Business Class whenever I am traveling abroad except Arik does not fly on that route. Not only is an Arik ticket a fraction of the cost of a British Airways ticket, but the money I pay to Arik circulates in Nigeria and helps firm up the Naira’s value. As I speak to you today, a British Airways Business to London is ₦2,103,666 while Arik Business is ₦551,545 yet our elite still fly BA But though Arik offers an affordable alternative to British Airways and other foreign airlines, our big men prefer to pay double what Arik charges to BA and other foreign airlines for the same services and yet they complain about the value of the Naira. I have Nasco cornflakes and I have eaten Kellogs cornflakes. In terms of nutrition and taste they are almost indistinguishable. Yet our elite who will rather eat Kellogs than Nasco cornflakes, wonder why the Naira is falling! Even something like Quaker Oats can be substituted with corn meal known locally as pap. Obasanjo Farms of Nigeria and other large scale poultry farms have the capacity to provide chicken for the entire nation. Since that is the case, why are we even buying imported chicken? In fact what is wrong if every family in Nigeria has a poultry in their backyard to give them eggs and meat? My steward went to Makoko, which is one of the largest fishing communities in Lagos. He wanted to buy fish and they were selling imported frozen fish! Yet in the very waters in front of them, there exist fresh fish that is more nutritious than the cheap frozen fish they were selling. We keep spending over 1 Billion Naira importing rice when our own farmers are capable of meeting our national demand for rice. But for some reason, Nigerians just prefer to buy imported rice. The imported rice we buy in Nigeria is not as good as our local rice because it has been stored for years in silos and treated with chemicals. Moreover, every time you buy it, your money is going out of Nigeria to service an economy in Asia. The end result is that their currency gains value while ours loses value. Have you ever wondered why European Premiership Clubs are so interested in Nigeria? It is because Nigerians spend billions traveling to Europe to watch their games, buy their merchandise and promote their leagues. Yet, back at home, we would not be caught dead watching our own local league. If we will not spend money on made in Nigeria goods and services, how can we expect our Naira to hold its value and appreciate? Obviously we can not cut ourselves off from the world. No nation is an island, but at least we can fly Nigerian airlines, eat locally produced food and patronize our football league. If we do this, not only will our economy grow and produce jobs for Nigerians, it will also make our goods and services improve in value such that they will be attractive enough to be imported. I bought Innoson vehicles as official cars for my staff. I have never lived to regret it one day. They are comfortable and durable. But most of all, I know that my purchase helps to keep jobs in Nigeria and improve the value of the Naira. I urge you to do the same. We have no other country but Nigeria and it is you and I that will make it what it is. If we buy Naija We Will Grow Naira My name is Ben Murray-Bruce and I just want to make Commonsense! #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira Source: http://www.trezzyblog.com/2016/02/why-ben-bruce-wants-you-to.html
