The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, on Tuesday appeared before the Nigerian senate over the unending nationwide fuel scarcity.

Kachikwu was summoned by the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream), after the committee carried out on-the-spot assessment of the crisis in major filling stations within Abuja metropolis.

At the meeting, Kachikwu said the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) is working on ensuring fuel availability in two weeks while major revolution in fuel availability will be from May.

He said NNPC is supposed to be supplier of last resort and not supplier of all fuel needed in Nigeria.

He added that refineries in Nigeria are old and dilapidated but with appropriate funds and retooling they will be revived to full capacity.

New reports have just confirmed that two fuel tankers have just collided in Zaria, causing an explosion that reportedly burned people alive.

This tragic development was shared on social media by an eyewitness @ruwaydis who warned people traveling along the Zaria/Kaduna Road:

“Plz any 1 going to kaduna from zaria should be careful”, she said, adding, “two fuel tanks jst exploded…people re burning Alive ya Allah(sic).”
The extent of the damage is yet to be ascertained. We will return with more updates.

Does media girl, Toke Makinwa have a child?

This is the question an Instagram troll has left us asking after she boldly slammed the OAP and accused her of hiding her child from the world this morning. Earlier today, Toke Makinwa shared a video of herself having fun with CEO of Global Orchard Service, Freda Francis at the AY Live show which held yesterday night.

As usual, Toke Makinwa’s comment section is always filled with trolls who are either criticizing her makeup or her lifestyle. However, this particular troll appeared to have first hand information about the media girl.

The IG user identified as @tessy53 stated that Toke had a child she was hiding from the world and insulted her for always posting pictures of her ‘ ugly and wild mouth’ on Instagram but never pictures of her child.

Fans immediately lashed out at the girl, calling her a bitter person who clearly has a personal vendetta against Toke. However, some others just wanted to know whose child it was and when the OAP had given birth as she has been known to be with just one man, her ex-hubby Maje Ayida.

The Super Eagles received a morale booster of $5,000 from the President of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah ahead of the reverse leg of the 2017 Africa Nations Cup against Egypt in Alexandria on Tuesday. The Chairman/CEO of Capital Oil and Gas had promised $5,000 to the national team if they beat the Pharaohs in the first leg on Friday in Kaduna, but the Eagles were forced to a 1-1 draw by the North Africans.
However, Dr. Ubah, who is also the Publisher of The Authority newspapers,lifted the spirit of the players when he presented a cheque for the amount to the team at their Africa Continental Hotel camp, despite not winning the match.

The team officials also benefited of the package as they received $3,000.He urged them to put the result of the first leg behind and positively work towards a win in Alexandria on Tuesday. “I am giving this to the Super Eagles to motivate them to win the match in Alexandria on Tuesday. I made the pledge to give the team $5,000 as our support to inspire them to pick the maximum points against Egypt in Kaduna on Friday. Although the game ended in a 1-1 draw, it is my conviction that the team deserve to be motivated ahead of the game on Tuesday in Egypt.

Dr Ubah, who during the visit to the Super Eagles with the management of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, advised the players to take the positives from the match in Kaduna and go all out for a win in Alexandria, saying, “Nigeria has the players and the capability to achieve victory in Egypt.” I am an advocate of motivation for result. That is the reason I and the FC Ifeanyi Ubah management have come to lift the spirit of the team. We believe in the Super Eagles and will continue to support the team,” he said.

The ever alert and vigilant troops of 7 Division Garrison based in Maiduguri, in conjunction with Civilian JTF averted yet another suicide attack  on the innocent citizens in Borno State today.

The troops intercepted 2 female suicide bombers at about  1.20am this morning, almost 100 metres south of Umurari village, outskirts of Maiduguri.

However, one of the suicide bombers on sighting own troops  detonated her explosive device, killing herself instantly, while the second bomber in an attempt to escape  was gunned down by one of the Garrison snipers.

The combined team of  Nigeria Police and Nigerian Army’s Explosive Ordinance Device team safely detonated the unexploded Improvised Explosive Devices strapped on the gunned down suicide bomber.

It is important to state that there was no casualty beyond the two suicide bombers. Presently, the troops and the Civilian JTF deployed in the village are now combing the general area to forestall further breach of security.

The situation in the area is calm and law abiding citizens are going about their normal activities without fear.

Mr & Mrs Ayeni welcomed beautiful twin girls named Miracle and Testimony Ayeni, 4 months ago, sadly, their twins are conjoined. Since their birth, they have been hospitalized. Though they are in good health, the complexities of being conjoined have led to this.

Due to publicity online, several hospitals in the United States of America are interested in the case. However, in order to move forward, detailed medical reports are needed including an MRI and CT Scan.These have been done, however, the hospital in Enugu is REFUSING to release it.
We have to commend actress Caroline Danjuma as her Hopeville Foundation has been covering the twins’ bills as well as raising awareness for this case.

My little angels are 4 months old today … Unfortunately I have to speak up on behalf of this kids and the parents. The hospital they are in right now are bent on operating on them when they don’t have the equipments. Hospitals in Texas and Canada have asked for their MRI scan and CT scan to see if they can assist this children but the hospital in Enugu has refused to give it to them , when I personally called a certain prof obiayo she asked me what the hospital abroad needed it for. What a funny question. The hospital went as far as publishing in the newspaper that they would need 5m for the surgery without informing the parents . To them it’s all about the money . The mother has been crying for fear of loosing her daughters. The hospital has refused to communicate with the parents but are only concerned with making a name and money through this innocent babies. Giving out their personal bank Acc without the consent of the family . They said we should keep the kids in the hospital for 9 months before operation by my research those babies don’t need to stay for that long if they ain’t sharing any organs. This babies are handed over to student doctors and that scares me most. I have decided to voice out cause I have been the one consoling the parents since I got involved but right now I am extremely livid at the selfishness and non caring attitude of the doctors. The parents can speak for them selves . Hopeville foundation will continue to do its best . Unfortunately the hospital in Enugu is refusing to assist.
This hospital has engaged in shady behaviour such as soliciting for funds for the babies without the permission of the parents! In addition, they are insisting on doing the surgery in-house despite lack of evidence that they have the competence to successfully separate the twins.
Pressure needs to be put on the hospital to release the medical results and cooperate with the family.The wellbeing of the children and the parents’ wishes come first! The hospital has no right to withhold any information or insist on any actions especially as the parents are fully involved and stable.
The family does not need money now. We need to help fight for the rights of the Ayenis as well as Miracle and Testimony to ensure they receive the best medical care.

Singer, 9ice apparently still has some beef with top blogger Linda Ikeji.

In 2013, the Alapomeji singer called out Linda and some other blogs after they uploaded his songs for free. Linda has in turn stated that 9ice would have to pay for her to upload his song and that was when he lashed out at her. He called Linda a nobody, saying “ Where was Linda Ikeji when I was out with my first album, Linda Ikeji who are you? I don’t even know her? Linda Ikeji if you are expecting a dime from me, fa fa fa foul. You pay me before you upload my music.”

Now the singer has thrown another major shade at the blogger in his new song, At the Moment.

In the song , which was uploaded on YouTube yesterday, 9ice talked about how Linda Ikeji’s wealth was gotten from retired army officer, Dasuki. He sang, “At the moment I want more prosperity I dey feel like Linda Ikeji, many money wey dey come from Dasuki.”

A few months back, Linda Ikeji was involved in the Dasukigate scandal where she was accused of being paid N240m from Sambo Dasuki even though she later debunked the allegations.

Three weeks after Princess Vitarah dropped her epic video ‘Nigerian Pussy’, the US-based rapper is still making waves on social media. And now she claims her song helped in improving tourism to Nigeria by 7%.

“I released my hit single Nigerian Pussy about 2 weeks ago. Since then tourism to Nigeria has increased by 7%,” the vocal rappers said, drawing the needed attention.

The explicit song catapulted Vitarah to the spotlight. In two days, her video hit over 122,000 views before it was taken down by Youtube for contravening community rules. She re-uploaded and it has since gotten over 121,000 views, with many reviews on Youtube from fans and critics.

Ahead of his coronation,the Prince of Benin Kingdom and Edaiken N’ Uselu, Prince Eheneden Erediauwa has commenced the performance of the 14-day Iyan-Ehien chieftaincy rites.

The Iyan-Ehien rites are performed by Palace Chiefs who are given special respects.A special group of Palace Chiefs known as Ogbe group under the Ihama N'Ogbe will play a pivotal role during the 14 days procession.

Before the Crown Prince began his journey to the Oba Palace for the rites, he conferred chieftaincy titles on some persons in Uselu community with security officials at various positions in Uselu and Benin City to ensure free flow of traffic.The titles conferred were the Ese N’ Uselu, Oshodi N’ Uselu and the Omuemu N’ Uselu.

According to sources, Iyan-Ehien is the highest level of chieftaincy rites which serves as a gateway for high spiritual attainment.

Toyota Nigeria has achieved a breakthrough in Nigeria by unveiling of its first locally-assembled vehicle in Lagos, a Hiace bus.

Toyota Nigeria last year hinted of its plan to establish a vehicle assembly plant in the country to join Nissan, Ford, Kia, Peugeot and a host of other auto firms already assembling vehicles locally.

The Managing Director, Toyota Nigeria, Mr. Kunle Ade-Ojo, said the new Hiace was assembled in the company’s plant in Lagos, built with 30,000-unit production capacity every year.

The Hiace, he said, was assembled as a test case, adding that the organization would soon begin its mass production.

This is coming about two and a half years after the announcement of the Automotive Industry Development Plan by the Federal Government, which raised the import duty on cars from 22 per cent to 70 per cent in order to discourage vehicle importation.
