Which school authority? On top council money? Please remind me the specific outfit that is mandatory according to Biblical tenets. Whether you like it or not, the right to hijab is guarantee by the constitution and case laws. Mk12: Did you see any student with nun or native doctor attire in the said school? Have you ever seen Christians imposing their religious dressing on secular schools? So you don't know that the use of hijab in the UK depends on each school authorities? |

It would be a win for democracy for Adeleke to have been declare that winner based on the election. However, his lawyers should carry the blame. They ruined it at the tribunal. |

Oh no, I am not the one claiming someone's headscarf is the root cause of my headache. Nigeria is not a secular state! Uniformity will not be affected with or without hijab. A child has the right to go to school and also the right not to be discriminated against or denied education because of her religion. Whether you like it or not, this issue has already been decided once before in our favour. This was exactly how you huffed and puffed with the Firdaus issue. Guess what happened? She eventually used her hijab along several others and the occasion went really well. For goodness sake, why you are bothering so much about someone's head? Will you die if your neighbor uses her hijab? How does it affect your ability to function as a human or practice your religion? ImaIma1: You are the one actually making it about you in case you haven't noticed.
Why are you getting so worked about a simple conversation?
Converse with facts instead of getting emotional. Why would what you decide to put on your head affect my sound health?
If you cannot converse without getting emotional, please don't quote me again. |

Three days of five for Christians only, Wednesday is also shared and you think ISI is not a Christian school. ISI is not a private school. It is not about your school fees. Who pays your teachers salary? Is it my father or the federal government? . Make all kind of examples you like, there are more religions in US and the UK combined, guess what? Nothing fundamental as changed in the school system. Insult Islam all you like, you are on your own. Now it is hurt because a victim of oppression is speaking out abi? Yanmyfeh: Ogbeni I went to ISI...and for the good six years I used, ISI was and is still not a federal school.it is a private school on a federal property..no fed sec school pays close to 90k as school fees ..and as for the prayers, please for the sake of anything u might want to interfere with or in in the future, always do proper research before u talk..any prayer that is to be done Monday, Tuesday and Thursday cause we don't do assembly on Wednesday is done by both parties...Mr Oladejo(IRS teacher) or Mr Adebayo(Arabic teacher) do it for the Muslims..There is a separate prayer for Muslims and Christians PS; would u feel safe in a school where i bring my babalawo gown, the Celestians bring their cap, the catholics do same?if all these pple are not allowed to do these for the sake of uniformity, why then should an exception be made for Muslims? Mr I am not a muslim oo but the fact that a school that has existed for over 50 years without no wahala was suddenly toppled because a Muslim man brought his children to school last year speaks a lot about d religion.. |

Try and switch postion for a moment, do you think you will consider this fair? Especially when your own rights are not infringed on? How has it affected uniformity? A uniformity that discriminates against a religion, a uniform that was contemplated only for one religion by the adherents of that religion. Nigeria is no longer the Christian colonial rule, even then we had substantial Muslim population, last I checked hijab is recognised in British schools. ISI s a federal school and as such the choice of uniform must respect all religions. Lush100: Sir, ma Please do not view it that way. No one is saying both pupils cannot wear different trainers for example.( If trainers are allowed as school footwear). What we are saying is there are rules of dos and don'ts. And the school mgt is saying no wearing of religious apparels. For example the CBN via Nigeria custom have a list of 41 banned import items for forex sourcing. Rice is one of them yet we Nigeria are one of the highest consumer of rice, Textile is another. PMB is not the owner of Nigeria however he is the president . He is the one providing leadership via checks of Senate and judiciary. The school wants uniformity just like CBN wants to encourage proper use of govt forex. I hope u grab. Regards |

Now you are an authority on my religion That is cute. Mk12: Was hijab not in existence before Islam? Where exactly in your Quran were all women (not only Mohammed wives) I mean all women specifically instructed to wear hijab all the time |

It is all about you. You have made it all about you. What does secularity have to do with individual outwear? Yes, it defines who I am and it makes holier than you. How about that? Why so damn concerned about what I put on my head? How does that affect your health? ImaIma1: Are you sure you are quoting the right person?
Where and at what point did I make it about me?
Why are you so passionate about the hijab? Does it define who you are or make you holier than those who do not wear it? |
Education › Re: Man Embarrassed As Ibadan School Refused Letting Daughter In Because Of Hijab by Sterope(f): 3:07pm On Jul 05, 2019 |
It is not about you. Why do you keep making it about you? How does hijab affect your ability to function or study? Why do you care so much about an apparel that is of no concern to you? ImaIma1: If no one will die if they were the hijab, no one will also die of they don't wear it.
We should be able to separate religion from the secular setting and desist from being sentimental.
There are so many Muslim schools...public and private, they can go there if they want to combine religion and education |

They didn't say they are going to die. They want to uphold one their religious tenets. It is not your head they are going to put it on. You can't be intolerant of something that doesn't affect your head. ImaIma1: And no one will die if they don't wear the hijab |

It was struck out Mr Akintola said that the provision of the constitution does not allow filing of a joint action in a fundamental human right suit. He said that the section of the constitution on fundamental human right allows ”separate filing of an action on the matter”. Well, when Christians pray every morning on school grounds in Jesus name is the definition of turning the school into a religious house. You don't see Muslims protesting. Talk about hypocrisy and pure undiluted hate and intolerance by the principal and the board of Governors of ISI I really find it difficult to understand how what someone wears define the next person. If I put on trainers, does that mean my friend is also putting on trainers. The hijab is personal, that is why it is on a Muslim girls hear and not the Christian girl. Also, ISI is not a private school. The principal is welcome to ban hijab in her school established with her own money on her own property. Mk12: The court haven't decided anything? What happened to the case then? No one is stopping anyone from school. All we are saying is that the school is not your religious house. Do you see Christians or traditionalist taking their religious attire to school? Why don't you guys fight for the use of hijab in the security forces? |
Education › Re: Man Embarrassed As Ibadan School Refused Letting Daughter In Because Of Hijab by Sterope(f): 1:51pm On Jul 05, 2019 |
Right to freedom of expression, religion etc No, the court haven't decided anything on ISI case. I have been trying to find one case law that upheld the use of hijab, can't find it Constitution or not, everyone deserves to be in school regardless of religion. Mk12: But the court said the school have the right to regulate their uniforms. Which part of the constitution said one should wear hijab to school? |
Education › Re: Man Embarrassed As Ibadan School Refused Letting Daughter In Because Of Hijab by Sterope(f): 1:36pm On Jul 05, 2019 |
Some schools you mean the 'public' schools? In Nigeria, it must be allowed in federal establishment. We have more Muslim population and muslims unfortunately for you are very Integral part of the society. The constitution says she should be allowed to use her hijab. You are welcome Mk12: well in Nigeria it is not allowed. even in the UK some schools don't allow it and the parents don't disturb the peace of the world. they either stay or take their kids to another school.
no one is stopping you from using hijab in your Islamic school.
the only right you have is the one given to you by the constitution. should native doctors be allowed to also come to school with their attire? |

Saudi is not holy land, Mecca and Medina are. Also, Saudi did not define my religion. You can stop being silly and telling me what to care about. Okoyeebo: Don't carry religion on your head. Saudi that is your Holy land, Nicki Minaj is going to twerk there. Are you as holy as the Mullahs that invited her to Saudi?
Don't be like those hypocritical Christians who fight Muslims but when they go to Dubai, they share testimony in Church. Is Dubai a Christian country?
Don't be like those Muslims that struggle to give birth in the UK and US. Why don't they go to Saudi or Iran to give birth?
No carry religion for head. It would help you on the long run. |

How does what Saudi Arabia decides to do affect me as a Muslim? Okoyeebo: You know the funny thing, this idiotic father is here fighting for hijab when Nicki Minaj is going to perform in Saudi Arabia to shake bumbum at those going for pilgrimage.
Your Senior Alhajis and Mullahs in Saudi would see Nicki twerk and their deak would stand like Danfo gear. I'm sure some pastors go use that opportunity go Saudi for 'evangelism'. Na Nigerians holy pass. Hypocrites
Dey here dey carry religion for head when Saudi don invite Nicki Minaj to come twerk for them. Oponu. |

It is a federal school on federal property not a private Christian school. Under federal law, she can use her hijab. Last I checked, they also do pray as Christians on school grounds Mondays to Thursdays. I don't see Muslim parents protesting. teesugar: For God's sake, ISI is not a Muslim school. Whoever wants her daughter to use hijab should go to a Muslim school period! Can Muslims admit a Christian in their school? |

Uniform that infringes on someone's fundamental rights Kids wear uniform to the school in the UK and also includes their hijab for the Muslims and turban for the Sikhs. No one has died yet. Mk12: there is no uniform for tertiary institution |
