I don't pray Salah in Yoruba because that requires specific Quranic recitation. However, talking to God doesn't require me to speak Arabic. You can as well tell me the how my personal prayers will go unanswered because it is in Yoruba

It is weird to you because your brain is playing tricks on you. You need to resolve the conflict within you to understand. Talking to God in my language is not weird to me, we don't have the same issue.

Also, every religious Arab believes in Allah to begin with just like the way every religious Yoruba believes in Olohun. The concept of Olohun differs between a Christian Yoruba, a Muslim Yoruba and a pagan Yoruba. Just like the way the concept of Allah differs between a Muslim Arab, a Christian Arab and a Jewish Arab. We all know that when days Olohun or Allah, the person is talking about a specific being who is also the Almighty God.

It is the same way the definition of who Jesus/Isa differs in the Qur'an and the Bible but we can all agree we are talking about the same person.

The Pillar of Islam starts from belief in Allah. Telling the Yorubas to "believe in Olohun" will even sound somehow. Yorubas believe in Olohun before so you have to explain further the concept of Olohun you are dishing out.

And that it will be absurd if you start chanting "God is the Greatest...." on Eid day. Or saying Here i am O God here i am... in Hajj.

I don't need Arabic to understand basics that God is Allah or vice versa. Perhaps, you will need more than Arabic knowledge to understand that you don't get to tell others especially natives that they shouldn't be using a word because you want it to be yours. Oluwa/Olohun as i said can be used in discussions with beginners to clarify and expatiate things. Yorubas too have the concept of Olorun/Olohun/Oluwa/Olodumare before. And if we go in to the linguistic meaning of this translations for God we may be discussing Kufr.

But what the Muslim should use in his worship, his du‘aa’ (supplication) and all other circumstances when referring to Allah, may He be exalted and glorified, is the word “Allah” as it is, because that has become a symbol for the Muslims and something that distinguishes them, and it helps to avoid any confusion between what they mean and what others mean when they say “God”, as others may sometimes be referring to Allah, but sometimes they may be referring to something else.

Everything that you have mentioned above applies to one who does not have a good knowledge of Arabic; as for the one who has a good knowledge of Arabic, it is permissible for him to use the translated words in order to explain Islam and help others to understand it. But when offering du‘aa’ or swearing oaths, he has to avoid doing that with words other than the known Arabic words for the divine names and attributes, as they are confirmed in the Qur’aan and Sunnah.

And Allah knows best.

Oluwa/Olohun. Oluwa to me is the one true God that is the beneficent, the merciful and the all-forgiving. He is God according to my Quran. Basically the concept of Oluwa/Olohun differs by religion.

Allah is originally an Arabia deity not Christians deity.

Arab Christians only adopt the name because it's their language but they are not referring to the Muslim deity but the Jewish deity(Yahweh or Jehovah).

Olorun is a Yoruba traditional religion deity, Yoruba Chrisians and Muslims adopt the name because that's what they can call their deity in their language. I think it was Bishop Ajayi Crowder that published this idea when translating the Bible into Yoruba.

I agree with you on this. To the layman and new Muslims you may use any name for Allah in their language. But as they learn more of Tawheed and Attributes of Allah....it will become more imperative to use Allah all the time.

A Christian Arab will use Allah and then ascribe son and third party to Him. We know He is free of all these.

When a Christian Arab writes in his mother tongue, how would you know he isn't a Muslim if he uses the word Allah.

Yes those around you may know but those reading you may not know. There is a difference between speech and writing.
People seeing you may understand you in context of your appearance or perceived faith. If you make a post here and i don't know your faith before, how will i know which God/god you are talking about? If it is Allah, then it is Allah. I will immediately think you are referring to the Muslim God unless you state otherwise.

When anyone says God, they mean the supreme God, the almighty or one God...a MONO God

When we say Oluwa or Olohun in Yoruba we mean the same thing as God i.e a MONO God.

It is the reason we have Mary; Maryam; Miriam; Moriamo; Marie.....all the listed is referring to Mother of Isa. Anyone with a basic knowledge of Abrahimic religion will tell you that.

When Arabs say Allah, regardless of religious affiliation, they mean the almighty and the supreme being. The definition of who Allah is may differ but it doesn't stop the non-Muslim Arabs from meaning the Almighty.

If I say Olohun or Oluwa etc, I am not referring to god's and I am not talking about the definition of Olohun according to Yoruba mythology. Those around me knows I am talking about the almighty according to my religious affiliation. When a Christian says it, everyone knows she is talking about Olohun of the Bible i.e Jesus Christ.

Do you know that the word Allah is not exclusive to Muslims alone? It is an Arabic word that Christians Arabs and all Arabs use when referring to God. It is also related to the Hebrew word for God.

It is like saying 'Oluwa' is limited to the pagans alone.
