MrPrsdent:

The problem with southerners is fear, and that is evidenced from replies on this thread.

Tha'ts what Northerners love. They have this habit of instilling fear in southerners, and therefore their 'domination by artificial means' continues.Southerners love life tooo much.

Lets try this:

Southerners all start making noise about having their own country. The Northern elite call a meeting and find out that in the event of war,the Western powers will back the south. What do the North do?? They start behaving. They have the most to lose if the country breaks up.

That's a strategy that will work.

Who says the west will help the South Nigerians break off, creating an uncontrollable Islamic state to the north?
Politics / Re: Divide Nigeria In Two, Says Muammar Gaddafi by strangleyo: 4:30pm On Mar 16, 2010
I don't support a split up without free trade.

Both countries will suffer without freedom of trade.
Politics / Re: Divide Nigeria In Two, Says Muammar Gaddafi by strangleyo: 4:11pm On Mar 16, 2010
The North supplies the south with food.

Look at meat prices in Lagos, and Onitsa recently.

One Nigeria is more beneficial to us than 2 Nigerias.

A starving Nigeria to the south, (with oil wealth stolen by the leaders), and a Somalisized Nigeria to the north.

At least we benefit each other now.

Politics / Re: Mass Arrest As Police Foil Another Round Of Killings by strangleyo: 4:27am On Mar 14, 2010
Though a few kitchen knives, two saws, two hammers, two axes were found in the vehicle, it was not yet substantiated if they were really weapons to carry out an attack or mere tools to carry out their jobs.

Sounds like they are building a table.

Perhaps a small lampshade.

I'd put my money on a small chair and table coffee set however oil bunkering is an art too.

Lol Charms and Amulets hahahahaaaa grin

Nigeria is a role playing game, with random missions, items, potions, weapons, weapon upgrades and enemies that adjust in difficulty.

Political assassinations are never good.

First its them then its us.

If they can kill each other like this, their own party, their own people, what do you think will happen when they come to power?

There will be no stability until the government proceeds with a full slum clearance program simultaneously with the construction of millions of units of affordable housing.

Across the nation.

Politics / Re: Plateau Massacre : Police arrest 377 suspects, prosecute 162 by strangleyo: 5:06pm On Mar 08, 2010
Northern politicians are Somalisizing northern Nigeria.

They are far worse looters than southern politicians. They steal from their fellow Muslims with impunity, thus creating radicalization. If Nigeria was all muslim, it would already be like Chad or Niger.

What needs to be done are 3 things, and 3 things only, the rest will fall in place.

1) - Decouple the EFCC from the executive office. Allow the EFCC complete and total freedom to pursue and prosecute government officials.

2) - Make annual financial audits of state finances mandatory prerequisites for the disbursement of federal revenue to the states

3) - Population control. - This one is harsh but necessary. Nigeria does not have the capacity to feed itself now, let alone with a population of 300 million (predicted by 2040). What goes on in the north is a disgusting abomination.
Men have 4 wives, each wife will spawn 5-6 kids, we’re talking about to 24 kids per man. Simply unacceptable, unsustainable and disgusting, since they cannot feed them. The kids are simply discarded to the streets or islamic schools, where they end up beggars, illiterates, vagrants, radicalized and a general nuisance to society.

Ban polygamy, or at least create a limit of 2-3 children per household regardless of the number of wives. This will force the people to look after their children better as has been the case in societies with smaller families.

You will see how within 30 years, Nigeria will stabilize.

edoyad:

And ladies and gentlemen that is how civil wars are born. People now start forming militias to protect their people and soon those militias become armies and rebel and before you know it the Red cross is setting up camps for civilians. Brace Up.

The Nigerian military is strong enough to withstand rebel movements. They will simply kill all the rebels, their wives, children, and goats.

Politics / Re: CBN To Fund Power Projects With N500bn Loan by strangleyo: 5:34pm On Mar 03, 2010
I don't think retards (I mean government officials) will touch this money.

It's harder to loot bank money that oil money. The bank will need to be updated on quarterly fund allocations. Moronic leader who think they own the country won't like that.
Politics / Re: Nigerians, Will Your Country Ever Develop by strangleyo: 11:07pm On Mar 02, 2010
After reading this whole thread: the answer to the original question in short is: NO

In a longer answer format: assuming certain variables are adjusted, there is a chance.
Politics / Re: What Utter Madness - Civil Defence Corps Now To Carry Arms by strangleyo: 11:04pm On Mar 02, 2010
You can't arm our police with AAA class weapons and gear when they are a bunch of illiterate retards.

If you want to be a police officer in a "normal" country, the proper procedure is to test the officers for literacy, math, logic questions. They have to gain certain certification. CPR, basic medical training, driving skills, mental response, a long list indeed.

Then, we can talk about arming them.

The problem is all the money that's supposed to go to the police is siphoned off by greedy cunts.
Politics / Re: Nigeria And Militancy by strangleyo: 10:51pm On Mar 02, 2010
I'm not sure how much of a leadership issue this is.

I spent some time in Yenegoa this year, and speaking to most people has given me the impression most of them are borderline retarded. Even the so called educated ones.
Additionally education is becoming worse. Teachers are idiots.

Nigerians can't produce anything the way things are going, let alone heavy industrial goods.

India is launching lunar probes and finding water in space while we can't even have conduct 1 credible election.

Good luck to developing in the future. When the oil dries up, Nigeria will be Somalia and Congo rolled into 1 fine package of human excrement.

mikeansy:

I don't think you understand what is going on in Niger

President Mamadou Tanja dissolved parliament, changed constitution and continued his stay in office without election. Why will anybody commit their army to go and sustain such a status quo.

The whole world have appealed, threatened and sanction Mamadou Tandja . . . .he has been unco-operative. Only last week Abdusalanmi Abubakar the mediator left Niger peace talks because Tandja is uncooperative and will not agree to concede or reach any form of agreement with opposition forces.

Trust me if we lived in a world where anybody will openly congratulate coups, people would have congratulated the Nigerien coup. World leaders are only keeping their fingers crossed hoping that the coup leaders will be willing to come to a deal to restore democracy in Niger.

So Nigeria has no business sending troops to Niger, there is nothing to defend. There is no point going to defend an emerging dictatorship.

Mamadou Tandja's administration ended in December after which he is no longer eleigible to continue in office according to their constitution. So if he is lucky to be alive after this process he should go home and relax.

Like I said, the coup plotters now need to re-instate the constitution before it was amended and step aside.

This cannot be another Guinea fiasco.

And you think Nigeria is that country? Apologies but it really seems like delusions of grandeur. Nigeria seriously needs to get its house in order.

America didn't hesitate with Haiti in 1915, Nigeria shouldn't hesitate now.

We can't have regime changes like this any longer.

Good point, BUT where is the MORAL AUTHORITY? from the criminal organization called PDP? sorry guys, pigs might even fly before that happens, how are they going to remove them? their previous Civilian President Tanjan was warned about his actions, he did not listern, they imposed sanction he did not deter him until 'bablets eagles major umoru' came for him.

In everything you do in life , always remember moral authority and if you have no clean hands you cannot go to equity. That is simple lesson of life for anybody in the position of power.

Military intervention.

Nigeria has possibly the best army in W.Africa. Simply remove him by force.

vigasimple:

1. Well, when you do a coup, and dismiss Parliament, it is always at the risk of the military officer because the consequence is severe if it goes wrong, and he and his team are aware of it

2. You mean NIGER and not Nigeria

3. I think calling immediate election is propably what the young office will be looking to do, that is my gut feeling and he will become an hero simply because the sitting President defie his own people and international community and continue in power.

I wish the youn officer can do a JJ Rawlings on this politicians for fear to be in their heart

My apologies i meant Niger.

If Jonathan stands by what he said today regarding coups, he will issue the Niger Republic an ultimatum, if elections are not organized Nigeria should proceed to remove the coup plotters and call elections for them.

West Africa needs 1 country to stabilize the region.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Updated: Coup D'etat In Niger Republic by strangleyo: 8:31pm On Feb 18, 2010
The president of Niger dismissed parliament at his own peril.

When will African leaders learn that Africans are tired of being treated like slaves in their own country.

Nigeria is rated the worst country in the world for living standards, below Iraq and Afghanistan.

Hopefully elections are called immediately.

xterra2:

The present crop of Generals in the NA would not do coup, CDS and COAS gave a firm warning to that.
But a coup should be done for a month only, and in that month we shall use the Jerry Rawlings method, Shoot our Leaders present and ex in the pot belly from stealing our funds, Call an election and go back

Maybe it works in Ghana, but Nigeria is far more complex than that. The Akhan ethnic group dominates the rest. In Nigeria, 3 ethnic groups are split evenly. Add religion, and its not as simple as shooting and re-electing.

I love democracy, no matter how corrupt.

But are Nigeria leaders ready for it? Last time we had a free and fair vote the military simply annulled it.
