Family / Re: My Husband Compared Me To Another Woman by streamsofjoy(f): 10:46am On Mar 20, 2021
OMG! Women we are in a deep mess in this part of the world. A man compares his wife with another woman, something I know that even the man will not take from his wife, and all the advice I see flying around is- men are moved by what they see, u no longer burst his brain,he just told u the truth bla bla bla. Only few persons adduced health benefits as good grounds for weight loss.

Madam, that man doesn't love u again. He is crushing on ur pastors wife and other women out there. He saw u fat before he married u, and I suppose he should know that a woman at her reproductive stage is most likely to become a little or very fat.

Sadly, its a mans world a woman will be expected to stick to a broke man and dares not compare him with her "pastors husband" else...

My advice, work on ur weight for ur health not for him. Get something very lucrative doing with ur life. Mingle with important people and get connection. Disconnect from him emotionally because he has, but pls play ur wifely duties religiously and just do what will make u happy and give him peace. He will yet complain about something else, that will not bother u again because u are already disconnected. Just make sure u are also at peace within u.

Family / Re: My Dad's Treatment Of My Mum Made Me A Feminist by streamsofjoy(f): 7:40pm On Mar 08, 2021
[quote author=SouthNigerian post=99706920]Happy International Women's Day to the females out there.

When growing up as a child, my Mom faced a lot of discriminations in the hands of my Dad and his family.

She faced constant assaults physically, emotionally and spiritually. My Dad never wanted my Mom to fulfill her potentials because he felt his authority in the house would be challenged if my Mom become financially independent. My Dad's anti-progressive attitudes towards my Mom drained all her aspirations to become great in life.

She abandoned her lofty ambitions because she's a wife. She left the things that would have made her fulfilled because she's had to save her marriage. My parents lack of cooperation affected my upbringing and education(thanks to exposure and good friends). I could have been making South Nigeria proud if I had good education but hey, here we are grin

I discovered my Mom wasn't the only person in the league of subjugation by men. It came to my knowledge that women are slaved beings in that thing called Marriage. I discovered most men are envious of their women who seek to be free and great in life.

All of my childhood experiences and societal ideologies made me arrive at the conclusion that marriage is nothing but a trap for women. Crazy enough, women are the ones who seek marriage the most.

I have decided never to get married because I believe in great potentials that women harbor. I strongly believe in the strength of women. I believe in women's capabilities.

Many of you guys would say Nigerian Women are useless. How many of you guys would husband a woman who aspire to be as great as Okonjo Iweala, Folorunsho Alakija? How many of you doesn't mind having a wife who is richer and influential than you are? Well, me don't mind seeing my woman greater than I am. Her breakthroughs would only multiply my desire to be greater.

As for me, I have decided to shun marriage. Even if I have to get married in the future, she must be a woman capable of challenging me. What I mean by challenge here isn't the woman who quarrel me, I mean the woman who have a lot to bring on the table. A woman I can gain from intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and of course physically. She must be a woman ready to speak up for other women.

FEMINISM DOESN'T BRING AN END TO THE THOUSAND YEARS REIGN OF MEN IN THE SOCIETY. FEMINISM IS CREATING A FUTURE OF FREEDOM FOR BOTH GENDERS TO GO AHEAD AND FULFILL THEIR GREATEST POTENTIALS.

My Advice to Our Ladies Out There:
Seek to be independent in all ramifications. Financial, emotional, spiritual, physical independence etc.

Choose to be the best you can be with track records, don't choose to be a hoe.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY.[/quote
] thanks for this. Made my time on NL worthwhile

Women Will never learn, a man is divorced for at least twice ( I think) u went ahead to marry him expecting that u will last abi what point were u trying to prove by marrying him? He has dumped u. and the kids, u can keep them for now, but whether u like it or not they bear his name.

I'm sure another woman is there waiting to marry him- and this is why these men don't value us.

Who are the we precisely? You should specifically be precise by saying this only apply to the women you have had personal encounter with in your existence

And pls stop yapping like someone living in a cave, most of what you mentioned doesn't even apply in the world today, e.g most women share more in the financial responsibility than men doing house hold chores.

Except you probably created this thread to start unnecessary war of gender words.

You think you have sense but you don't have sense at all.

Children of this generation have no sense.

Imagine you were driving your car and father is beside you. You went somewhere and you are now both heading home. Then your husband called and says you should pick him up at certain land mark on your way home.

When you get there, instead of your husband to get in and you guys continue, would you tell your elderly father to get down from the car and go and sit at the back, so that your husband can sit in the front?

Or would your husband now point to your dad, instruct him to to get down, go to the back and sit, so he can sit in the front seat?

So you cannot see how disrespectful that is? What do people take parents for? You think your mother in law is an insignificant small girl you can tell to get down, go sit at the back because u are the wife of the son.

Some of you girls are very daft, really very daft indeed. Complete zero emotional intelligence

One of the boys spotted. See all you have to say with all your sense. I believe your mother is this senseless as well, no wonder she raised a boy this full of sense.
Ancestor of this generation!

Wait! I am not understanding NL "boys" the ones who have little or no regard for women. It's like when threads like this is put up they go into oblivion, because the way I see comments from some persons on how important their mother is to them I am forced to ask - these women you disregard and see as sex objects especially on NL, are they not going to grow to become someone's mother who will also say these beautiful things about her? Some of you don't know how your mothers related with her in laws or how her past was, all you see is the love she bestows on you as a child which every woman does.

MY ADMONITION
Pls when next you wanna say something unpleasant to or about a woman can you please first see her through the eyes of your OWN mother then if you still feel you can say it go ahead.

ON THE TOPIC
The mother in law was wrong. But, if I was the woman, I will not say a word, I go just go sit down for my back seat jeje BUT I go put am for record. Matters like this are not dealt with immediately and with confrontations. Na cunningly and craftly you go take pass your message to both your husband and him mother.

OP na u cause fight. Since you knew the ladies were the first occupants of the sit, why didn't you let the guys know about it so they can decide whether to act honourably or otherwise ( as they did) you wait make fight start just to bear witness that the lady started the fight whereas you could not bear witness of them being the first occupants of the sit. Are you sure you don't have beef for the girls?
