Mimicole: It's a bungalow. So far all the advice my engineer has given me concerning the project have been on point, this is the only issue i'm having since the work started, I don't think I should fire him because of that. I just need other professional views on this issue in order to compare. But even without any knowledge of designing buildings I just know it will be wrong to place a TV set in between two windows. Stumbled upon this and thought that you might find it useful. https://www.nairaland.com/3040875/very-important-mistakes-architects-make |

Mimicole: Hi all, I'm about to become a home owner, my house is still in its early block laying stages and this is the time I think is best to correct all design errors. My engineer actually created a large and spacious living room for me, which I absolutely love, but my dilemma lies in the fact that all the walls in the living room have windows... I can't imagine how i'll arrange my TV set and electronics in between windows. My engineer assures me it's ok but I think it's a disaster, Am I wrong? Please I need professionals to help me out here. Thanks in advance. This is not a structural design problem. Its an architectural problem. Lucky for you at this stage it MAY still be able to be corrected depending on the drawing plan. Is the house a duplex or a bungalow? Am guessing its a bungalow... Candid advice: Get a registered architect and a certified engineer to help you redesign the structure. Quacks make us engineers look silly. |

I stumbled upon this and I know someone might find it useful.
So here goes what you should know about the First Bank GT recruitment process:
1) The recruitment examination would probably be conducted by Dragnet.
2) The number of applicants would be so monumental as usual that it will become hard for them to select candidates other than raise the cut off. 3) The selection process may take around 4 weeks to 2 months. 4) During the selection, HR may screen for grade and where necessary experience. 5) Interviews at First bank are usually tough so you have to know what stuff you are made of 6) The first interview is with the HR personnel. There is a second interview where you meet with managers from the dept you will work with. A panel interview precisely. 7) After been successful at this two stages then you do medicals.
Likely interview questions:
a) Tell us about yourself, walk us through your resume b) Kindly describe an experience where you work in a team and what impact you made. c) Why did you chose banking? .i.e if your course is not banking related. d) Most importantly, First bank asks a scenario based question. E.g, "How will you handle a situation if a colleague rough handles you or maybe slap you?". |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: What Will You Do When You Missed A Call From An Interviewer? by Structuralman: 3:01pm On Dec 15, 2016 |
1. Return the call to the number that called you immediately. If you are able to reach the HR, read no further.
2. The next most important thing to do is to call the customer service lines. The folks at the other end are obligated to resolve the issue. Customer service in recent times is basically focusing on customer experience and I am certain they will not leave you hanging. You can either drop your profile with them or ask to be connected to the human resource department.
3. Send an email. This is also very efficient. You may reply through the same way you applied if it was through email requesting for a call back. Or you could send a mail to the company's HR department copying customer service.
4. Contact a referral. If you were referred. Contact the person you know ASAP.
5. As a last resort, you may have to visit the organization. This can be very useful to both you and the interviewer as s/he has an opportunity to assess you on the spot.
Kindly note that it is not wrongful to miss calls from HR. In fact its nothing. It only becomes annoying if the calls were missed severally.
However, you may also miss the chance of being interviewed at all because it is a difficult task going backward on shortlisting when you already moved on to a more prospective and reliable applicant. |

Please is there anyone who didn't get a mail too? Or are the invites being sent in batches? I met all the criteria and I'm not close to 26 , so I don't get why I wouldn't get the invite. Any other person in the same shoes please?? Did you check your spam/bulk mail? |

VMpi744: Fallacy of HASTY GENERALIZATION Free Advice: You dont always have to SOLVE anything. Just choose the correct option. How you do it no one cares. Just dont giraffe sha Nobody needs or care about your solutions. Learn how to Eliminate Options. studying option format also helps. Eg.: while 'solving' you arrive at something like 457÷23. Before you enter #longDivisionMode, pause and look at how the options are presented. Are they in fraction? One decimal place? Or even the nearest whole number? Back to the case of 447÷23, I know my answer would start with 1. If only one option has 1 at the beginning, that is my answer and case closed. For those who complained about big number. Pls learn to ESTIMATE. Why? Cos it it save lives. Someone mentioned in an earlier post that they gave a pie chart and asked them to compute the value of sector with 28.4°. Let's assume the total of that pie chart is 150. 28.4° is approximately 30° Hence we have (30°/360°) × 150 = 12.5 Cos I roundUp, i know my answer must be less than 12.5 Someone may ask what if the options are close? Well I would still be able to select an educated approximate and move on. #noTime. Truth is they would never be close except calculators were allowed. For the verbal. Some people (category1) read once and they understand and remember everything while Others (category2) dont. So before you take such test. Pls practice and determine what strategy works for you. For category1: simply read the passage as fast as you can and answer the questions that follow. Refer back to the passage if needed For category2: the slow readers or the wanderers *those whose mind wander while reading (eg. Me) Read the questions (& options). Go back to passage and skim through it. Select answer and move on. Skip when the questions has taken more than 30s. Finish early and cross-check Answer those questions you skipped. For those not in category1&2: define you strategy and become proficient at using it With practice you become efficient in choosing the correct option. For the analytical/logical: When given a series of letters eg MN5, KP4, ___ reason those letters in numbers (using their position in the alphabets) and thank me later For general knowledge: Make an habit of watching 9/10 o'clock news on local TV (NTA Network news or AIT, Channels News @10, Sunrise Daily, TVCNews @ 10, Channels Business News, NTA documentary like programmes, etc) everyday from you pry/sec school You could add Aljezeera, CNBC, NatGeo and the likes too. Listen to femi and the gang. TopSports, SportRadio. Koko Inu Iwe Iroyin. BBC Hausa. Etc Just make sure you also install a filter in your ears else some on 'these people' would just brain wash you. With that you can never be found wanting. Note: it is never to late to catchUp. Make Google and Wiki your friends. Bro! You are a Genius!!! Rounding up the quadrant and choosing an educated answer for the pie chart is a brilliant idea. I didnt even think of it. I hereby award you full scholarship to Imperial college in the UK!! |

dachaste: Calculator was not allowed. There was pie chart in mine There was Venn diagram too Just study and be Fast. Leave any one u don't know There was abstract but not too tricky Yes there was verbal, and it had true or false and pick the statement that is true. It's not too difficult like we feared. It's just that there is no time 20 verbal 15mins, 15 business maths 17 mins, 20 analytical 20 minutes, 20 general knowledge 15 minutes.
Good luck to us all. Much appreciated. Wishing you the very best! |

I am also puzzled because I know they could have done the test in Abuja @ Chams city near Transcorp. Dragnet uses this venue all the time, dont know why they didnt use it this time around. |
