gideonvalor98: Explain what this verse you quoted saying Matthew 25:31-46 English Standard Version The Final Judgment 31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ 41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” |

You removed it from your Bible It's a contribution as a member of a community. The command is in Mtt 25:34-45 In Mtt 25:40, Jesus literally declares the proxy for gifts meant for Himself! Slyzen: If he is sick and hungry, he won't be able to give his best to his flocks. Just like if your president is sick, the country would be in disarray.
That is why in every circle, the leadership must be very well taken care of at all cost. Presidents, CEOs, Pastors, King's, etc. Receive the utmost care and financial benefits because of the value they bring.
If their physical or financial well-being is threatened, they cannot perform optimally or be able to lead or motivate their followers.
Most people who have not taken leadership roles, or those from poor backgrounds don't understand this dynamics.
He that waters must be watered and made to flourish first. That is the simple truth. Thank you once again for being sincere. But, Apostle Paul should be the example, and not CEOs or presidents, unless you want to tell us that churches are just one more secular organization! |

Know God genuinely and acknowledge him in what you do which includes giving to him cos he has done great things for you. And this giving should come from a sincere heart...from heart of gratitude. Don't let what happens around you determine how you give to God. I pray for God's blessings the more upon you.
I must also encourage you to continue doing good for others too because it is also another way of giving to God. What you failed to realize is that Jesus Himself gave us a proxy for giving to Him: Please, go and read Matthew 25:34-45 |

Slyzen: @sermwell
It is good to give to people in need, but it is better to give to people who takes their time to impact you. To impact your spirit.
The way I see it, pastors too have needs. And even though we might want to believe that their reward is in heaven, I strongly believe that giving to your spiritual leaders should be a priority just like you give to your country leaders via taxes.
Even on that note, our spiritual leaders utilize our "taxes" more judiciously than our present day government.
When you go to church, there is light, fan or AC, cleaned auditorium, cleaned compound, electronics that needs servicing, generator, for instrumentalists that are paid weekly, etc. Who do you think pay for all these that ensure the smooth running of the church?
Let's assume that you a pastor leading a church and all the members pay only 20 Naira as offering every Sunday, how do you maintain the church? If you go hungry and sick without funds, how do you find the motivation or strength to lead and motivate others?
Also, most of the free seminars and events hosted in churches today, are mostly paid for elsewhere. People pay thousands and sometimes millions to attend high-impact meeting and seminars hosted by business people. If you value the church services enough to attend them, why then is giving a reasonable token so difficult for you?
It's all about perspective. It's good that you have finally come clear that money is the motivation for pastoring the people! I like you saying the truth for what it is — if there's no money, the pastor won't get motivated! |

Assuming you are on your way to NEPA office to settle tour electricity bill and on your way you noticed that the next street does not have light because their poll fell. Will you use you NEPA bill money to repair their poll or you will pay your bill? Even if you use that money to fix the pol which is DOING THE RIGHT THING, FACT STILL REMAIN THAT YOU ARE OWING NEPA and fixing the poll does not guarantee or automatically means you will have FREE BILL. CHEERS! Considering Jesus' clear commands in Matthew 25:34-45, what you explained is the case of someone who neglects giving to the poor and consoles himself that he is giving in the church! |

Sermwell: I have over time realised that I find it difficult to give larger amount of money in church. Most times I struggle to give #50 or even #20 as offerings in church. But I have always find it easy to give large sums to persons in need in and outside the church.
Quite recently, a brother accosted me in church with some challenges about his wife's childbirth in the hospital, I went with him and paid off 45k to discharge them. Aside him, I have given up to 100k (if not more) to persons in need this month alone.
But I struggle so hard to give larger sums in church. Even today, I gave #40 as offering in church when I actually have larger denominations in my wallet.
Funny enough, on my way out of the church today, I met my school mate and we went to my house together, although he didn't state categorically that he's in need, but he told me how he has been out of job for 3 months now. After the visit, I gave him 10k from the same wallet I gave #40 as offering in church today.
My question is, what could possibly be wrong with my giving in church? Is it trust issues or I consider it better to give to persons instead of the church?? Is anything wrong with my style of giving??
I need answers please!! Bro, don't ever change that habit; keep it that way for you shall inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world (Ref Mtt: 25: 34-45). Giving to those who already have more than enough is meaningless! |

Liverpool's problems:
Getting a world-class central midfielder that is not suited for their style — Thiago.
Injury to Central defenders (Gomes & Van Dijk)
Pushing DMs (Henderson and Fabinho) to CD role to replace the injured CD.
Most often using Thiago as the deepest midfielder (more like a DM). Of course, he pays back with stupid fouls
Solution:
The most important part of a team is the DM role, and it's very difficult to find a good one. When you have it in Fabinho, don't waste him in CD role. #Bring back Henderson and Fabinho to the midfield. Use Kabak and co in CD. When this is done, The front 3 of Mane, Salah, and Firmino will come back to life. |

Good, this is how it should be. You tell us what the person has done: BEC, romance scam, or whatever. There must be an evidence of crime committed before you put someone's face on media, and not just raid a neighborhood and pack people for alleged internet fraud, without even stating what the crime is and your evidence.
All those "EFCC arrests 20 suspected internet fraudsters in Osun" — with their names and pictures plastered all over the internet without declaring the crime committed and the evidence of it — is a criminal act that has been thriving here because our lawyers are toothless. The Southern elite who should question the criminality are not talking.
The right way to make a media report of crime should be something like this: "20 arrested for suspected internet fraud: ugaM miharbl: Money laundering, $... Irahu Dome: Romance scam, $... Zax Kyc: Business email compromise, $... .... .... and the list continues".
It shows that a crime was committed, you know the nature of the crime, you have the monetary value, and you have done your due diligence and it leads to the person arrested!
Just entering a neighborhood and arresting people and parading them without investigation is a crime that every well-meaning Nigerian must ensure it stops. Criminality must not be condoned in a government agency, else it loses the trust of the citizens.
Our lawyers need to wake up! To have a sane society, there must be responsible Judiciary and fearless media!
I rest my case! |

It's a subtle sign of lack of love — she doesn't have your back. She's just there for what she's benefitting.
I repeat, she doesn't have your back (can't notice where you are lacking), let alone your flanks (doesn't contribute to your strength). You're all alone. Just know that.

Imagine a world where you can use those services that are blocked in Nigeria.
It's for you bro, you have nothing to gain from being defensive.
Nigerian Yahoos are dumb and loud, easy to catch.
If I worked with law enforcement, I don't need to step outside to spot them, that's how stupid they are. My point is simple: they should learn how to separate the seeds from the chaff. They can't use a blanket approach to tag anyone working with a laptop a fraudster! Admittedly, many Nigerian youths are into cybercrime. However, there are intelligent ways to fight cybercrime. They can liaise with Google, Facebook, Twitter, WeChat, and even this Nairaland to monitor our online space. FBI used Instagram and Nairaland to nail Invictus and used Instagram and Snapchat to nail Huspi. Even DSS use Twitter and Nairaland to track PMB's enemies. But our so-called agency for financial crimes is doing blanket arrest in 21st century. From what I have seen online so far, in my honest opinion, EFCC is NOT fighting cybercrime. Instead, they created a business for themselves and use the media sentiments the topic generates to mask the decay in the agency! Unfortunately, the media frenzy is causing more damage to the psych of an average Nigerian youth, instead of deterring them from the crime. The average Nigerian youths now thinks that fraud is the only way to make it really big in this country. Just this evening, I argued for a long time with a graduate of computer science to get him to change that mindset. My point is this: EFCC should do things the right way. Take time and build a case before making any arrest and put the fellow away for a very long time — not this their 6-18months slap on the wrist! |

People who don't live in Lagos won't understand this one way thing. It's not about following the other lane. Most of the one-way issue happen on street roads that are designated one way without appropriately labelling them as such. There's no way new visitors will know those roads are one-way. Even when you inquire, the traffic enforcers will direct you to take the road, only for their colleagues to impound your car — there's a thread about one the other day. Driving in Lagos State is very risky, especially if it's an area you don't know very well.
Don't ever go to an area you don't know very well with your car. The chances of getting into a traffic issue is 90%. Google map will never help you with this street one-way road issue! Asking the officials is a sure way of getting into the trouble!
Apart from commercial drivers and a few crazy private owners, nobody knowingly enters one-way! |
