Please for those who just got their visas, I just visited the german embassy site and I realized a lot have changed about student visa application.. Please help us throw more light on these developments
Firstly, every student applicant can no longer book down appointment, you have to mail the embassy with proff of finacial means and your admission letter.
Also, I just saw one must present primary school leaving certificate and also any identity card that is over 5 years, be it library card, baptism card or the likes
Also, they have made NPC birth certificates compulsory.. Please share your experiences.. Cos I sure say many primary schools wey people attend for don close shop ooo, not to talk of having student records

I am asking because my visa is ready but I will travel by january 2014 but am not yet sure of the exact day in january.

Went for my interview on November 19th and got a mail on thursday to bring 3 months insurance.........Went there this morning and lo and behold I have my German Visa..........A man cannot receive anything except its been given to him from above......I appreciate him and its my prayer that everybody on this thread will have a testimony to share very soon in Jesus name. Hmmmm.. I appologise if in any way i've discouraged anybody on dis thread concerning admission wif a PGD. I was only trying to encourage d guy to enroll in a Barchelor's (4 added credibility)... Read in btween d lines, i've not discredit naija qualification in any way as am also holding a ''naija qualification''. I've also never acted as an agent and i will never do.. In addition, no one knows it all, dis is an open thread where all opinions are dissected and decisions taken from a discretional point of view.. If opinions, thoughts, suggestions and recommendations are not sampled, dis thread wouldn't exist..

I asked not to be negatively crucified but corrected, as am alws ready to learn..

It will be a thin of joy 4 me if d guy comes back here one day and inform d house of his admission wif a Pgd as dis will open doors 4 other aspiring students.. we all have one target; Msc/Bsc/PhD in one of the best education systems in d world..

Please try to check the VISA APPOINTMENT BOOKING PORTAL the category for booking appointment for student visa has been removed...Please my ogas kindly confirm because a friend of mine couldn't book an appointment because of this.....Urgent attention all. Thanks

As I reach I observe the man see say na my language man from his marks. So I ask the man how much, him say 5hundred per doc.. I just hmm..
Try bargain he refuse to budge, so he asked how much I have I said 2hundred per doc.. He was like noo!! No wher you wil go thell do it for you like that.. So I was like don't worry til next time I come slip in 2 words in my language, na so the man just say come lemi do it for you.. No dullin o.

wonderbobs: Hello people, I promised to tell you guys my story this monday....so here I am, so if you guys remember last I was denied an interview with the embassy, reason being short visa processing time before my deadline, so I went home and wrote my school with little faith to them extending my deadline, I had already started making arrangements to apply next year summer. But alas the next day being tuesday I got a mail from the faculty telling me that I have been given another extension until december 1st, I was marvelled so I immediatelly worte the embassy and the next morning rushed to the embassy, as I was speaking with one of the security men I got a mail on my blackberry checked it and it was another appointment date for today. So I went home and to God be the glory, I am done right now with my interview which I must say went well, the german old lady was pleasant and was smiling with me all the while as she called me a daddys boy .. Not knowing that am a kpako pickin, she told me that my application is being forwarded and that I would get a reply from them soon. So this is my waiting period, and I pray my lord that started this good work will complete it.. Amen goodluck to all of us still waiting.. Thanks peeps..

shellcom: Thanks suckermaterial, do you mean 2wks to process? Then I was told also at the embassy that your sponsor can also be in Nigeria, that it can be done via the german embassy but the sponsor will meet the required criteria which I did not ask doe. I will use the block account doe.

I was browsing through their site and saw something like you need to provide german language certificate, that's why I was asking.. But its all good I hope its as you say it.

franklysco: Check their website, it's there. Uni-assist is very easy to use.

shellcom: Greatest Nairalanders, plz, concerning the form of opening blocked account, where do I get it, does the embassy have? What time do I go to d embassy for authentication? Who sends the form after authentication? How long does it take to open ad blocked account? Pls I need answers. Thanks in adv

wonderbobs: I have already done that, and the IO said I should call later to put me through, I would try deferment and see how it goes. I wonder if I can just leave my money in my blocked account?? Dunno if it will be wise ??
