There more money in exporting cassava starch than gold. Thailand made $3.1 billion from exporting Cassava last year. Thailand is the largest exporter of cassava products in the world, and has been for many years. Approximately 75 – 80% of the cassava grown in Thailand is exported, mainly to China and other South Asian countries, in the form of dried cassava chips, pellets and native or modified starch products. http://www.agribenchmark.org/fileadmin/Dateiablage/B-Cash-Crop/Reports/CassavaReportFinal-181030.pdf |

....By collaborating with other youths to protest and demand good governance.
Every advise that has been shared on this forum, has good intentions, but unless Nigeria has a capable government, you will always be poor. Surviving and prayers cannot solve your poverty problems, changing the society not only for yourself but all Nigerians is the only solution. |

GTkester: But on a more serious note, taking a second look at this list and reminiscing on the history of Nigeria made me sad for some few moments.
To be honest, the afonjazees have messed up Nigeria. So when it comes to hardwork, diligence, knowledge and almost every other important positive HDIs' the Igbos and Yorubas are almost always on the top. But instead of the yorubas to merge together and develop a unified vision or mission with the Igbos in Nigeria, they chose to sabotage the Igbos and at the same time play a second fiddle to the fulanis whom they are in every way better than.
What yorubas Muslims have done to the great Yoruba nation is honestly unpardonable!! You need to read your history. Ndigbo should also realise that in spite of his legendary status Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe was largely responsible, directly and indirectly, for the plight of Ndigbo from 1960 to date. Let me allow Mazi Chidolue to speak for himself.

Arrewa: Let me still put this here...
Hypocrisy of the southners! When the excessive killings of zamfara was still on; you didn't call it jihad or genocide against the indigenous muslim communities. But since it has now turned to the Christain communities of kaduna State. You're now sugar-coating your pen to suite your narratives that portrays the southern kaduna killings as a planned genocide been sponsored by Muslim elites.
Factually, nobody is happy with the dialy killings that's happening with kaduna south citizens. But how do you expect me to support you when your long article paints me as the sponsor of the menace? Or are you intentionally calling it a genocide against Christainity to get the Muslims angry and use the bashing comments they'd rain on you to affirm your assertion?
When terrorists attack a Muslim dominant community; Most of the victims would surely be muslims. Like wise, if they attack a Christain dominant population; Majority of the victims would be Christains. The war is neither muslims against Christains nor Christains against Muslims. But a war between humans and cannibals.
I guess you're calling this a genocide of cleansing Christains due to the fact that a Muslim is ruling the the country. But did you call the 2010 to 2015 killings of Borno aboriginal Muslims a genocide to cleanse Islam? How about sokoto and katsina State menace? Is it a genocide against Christains also?
Insecurity has forsaken our country. But instead of us to raise our collective voices to condemn it and call the attention of the the government to curtail it; we are busy throwing shades at each other and playing the usual blame game. Infact, some Imbeciles are even happy about it since it'd be a means for them to further spread hate and cause havoc within the northern population.
Whether it's a genocide or not. We strongly condemn it and call the attention of the relevant authorities to unveil a fight against it.
My thoughts and prayers are with southern kaduna, kastina and zamfara citizens. I pray this come to an end. I pray that: smile shines out your rues sooner. I pray your land regains it peace and freedom. Maybe Northerner should stop waiting for Southerner to speakup on the mass murder and carnage in the North. What are Northern Nigerian doing? I don't see any protest by Northerner or is it because Arewa is now in power and you don't want to rock the boat. |

Onlinealaba: It's good they want to renovate the place but FG should please listen to their plead, but the ugly thing about Nigerians is even if they were giving 6 months some won't still adhere to the order Why are they renovating the stadium? Shouldn't the best plan of action be the selling or leasing the stadium to an organisation that can operate, market and maintain this historical edifice. Government needs to get out of owning infrastructures that they cannot maintain. The London Olympic stadium was handover to West Ham FC to operate for profit. Wembley Stadium is part owned by the UK government and a for-profit company. Nigeria needs to focus on operation management and not just building infrastructures that they can't operate, the Lagos bridges, refineries, Ikoyi secretatriat are all comatose, because the country lacks the management skills and finance to maintain and operate these expensive edifice. |

kikero: Fact, the Amry was also corrupt, and also left us an economy heavily dependent on oil..the same economy we are still dealing with up till today.
Fact, the Army could not finish Ajaokuta steel complex and a host of other projects .
Plus, most of the high infrastructures the Army built.....was built in the 1970's when we had the oil boom thanks to massive increase in oil prices. When the oil prices crashed, so did the high infrastructure.
Civilians too did build some infrastructure...plus thanks to Obasanjo allowing GSM companies to run private...we have a telecoms infrastructure miles ahead of what the Army could provide.
Our rail infrastructure also was wrecked by Army mismanagement. It is only under GEJ and Yaradua and even Bubu that we are seeing some development of the thing. Fact, Nigeria largest oil boom of $100 per barrel between 2010 to 2014 didn't materialised into infrastructure boom. Fact, the military built Ajaoukuta upto 90% completion, 21 years of civilian rule it still 90%. Fact, the oil refineries that were built by the military, have never worked despite 21 years of civilian rule, with two presidents OBJ and Buhari working as the minister of petroleum. Fact, militant insurgencies or unrest never lasted longer than 3 years. 21 years of democracy has left Nigeria virtually at war with itself. Fact, I am against military rule, but I have lost confidence and interest in Nigeria form of democracy. |

Singapore and Malaysia and China were/are all benevolent dictatorships! We as Democrats r we more developed or more corrupt than they r? kikero: Yes, South Korea was developed by the Army, but they did not develop by giving people free things. Most Koreans had to work for long hours to develop their country. If we applied Park Chung Hee methods to Nigeria, people will complain of harshness, and of the government not caring for them.
As for Singapore, they got lucky.
China spent over 20 years being underdevelped by the Mao dictatroship. They are developed now because they allowed the capitalists to run their economy...something we Nigerians don't really want. Fact! Majority of the infrastructures in Nigeria were built by the military. The airport, new capital, refineries , LNG, roads were all built by the military. In 21 years of democracy what has democracy delivered in infrastructures and human development, every election is stolen by corrupt politian. Even the richest state in Nigeria, Lagos State cannot finish a light railway that was started in 2008. Democracy in Nigeria is living on borrowed time they better get their act together. |

You'll see difference if you could juxtapose era where oil was over a $100 per barrel to this era with the achievements of the duo You will never learn. Buhari wasn't selected to run a country awashed with oil riches and stability, he was selected because the country had high expectation that he would instil discipline, security and managed the resources effectively, he has failed on all account. Back to $100 per barrel oil . Even if oil was $1000 per barrel Nigeria will still be poor, exporting oil will never improve Nigeria economy as long as the country is a large importer of refined oil and industrial goods and services. The minister of petroleum still refuse to upgrade, repair or sell the 3 refineries that are consuming billions of Naira, despite not refining one drop of oil. The problem is that all Nigeria leaders lack the knowledge to leverage Nigeria competitive advantage in agriculture, steel and petrochemicals. Nigeria is the largest producer of Cassava in the world, yet Thailand generated $3.1 billion from exporting Cassava starch. |
