The rivalry between Igbo and Yorubas is uncalled for.
I guess it's engineered by the North - divide and rule things.

Southern Nigeria will never develop until Igbos and Yoruba's unite.

Yes, I said so.

There is nothing wrong with competition and rivalry, but there comes a time when both the Igbo's and Yoruba must compromise. It will be difficult but it must happen.

Since 1960 the North has successfully been using one part of the south against another in order to achieve their aim which is to acquire political power ( use the Igbo's against the Yoruba's and again use the Yoruba's against the Igbo's) the divide and rule used by the British conquer eastern part of the present day Nigeria. The North has used the Yoruba's in 2015 and the same North will use the Igbo's in 2023 to retain the presidency and nothing will happen, because both the Igbo's and the Yoruba's are foolish. How can the most two advanced and educated ethnic group allow the most backward and illiterate ethnic group to govern and manage them and expect positive development Can one give what he doesn't have.

After five years in government, they now remember that the country should diversify. The should first sack Buhari as Minister of Petroleum, the man has failed in the oil sectors, the refineries are still not working, NNPC can't even supply gas to the thermal power plant yet these people what to industrialised.

He said, “As we are all aware, Nigeria is working on diversifying its economy as well as its revenue sources. The need to develop other channels of generating revenue and foreign exchange is critical.

“This need is further underscored by the recent drop in the global price of crude oil, which also constitutes a major threat to achieving planned government expenditure.

Nigeria electricity problem requires restructuring before any investment can be considered. Let each region be responsible for its own Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Governance. The Federal government can then support investment in specific electricity projects.

First, Russia produces many consumer goods for their citizens and others in the region. Yes they don't have lots of goods geared towards western markets.
Manufacturing goods for your own economy is very very important and allows you to have some sort of control of your economy.
Secondly, Nigeria does not have a y manufacturing base, no steel industry, no technological know how, no research and development base. The people are more interested in tribal, religious and mundane issues than in inventions.
Thirdly, besides agriculture which other industry can just make any serious impact in a very short period? None.

Yes this and all other previous governments in this country have been subpar in every facet of creating an enabling environment for solid foundation for diversification of the economy. What did the previous govts do to diversify the economy? Nothing.
Your leaders are a microcosm of you, your village, your town, your cities and the whole country.
Until you have people who are more interested in the greater good of society than their own selfish need, don't expect any serious improvement.

Buhari is more interested in the greater good but unfortunately, he lacks the skills and energy required to take the country to where it needs to be.
If Buhari had any good intention, his second ministerial portfolio would have been been the minister of industry or agriculture and not petrol resources. Lacking skills and energy are not a good prerequisite for leadership, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that Buhari is completely out of his depth.

Making excuses is not a strategy, OBJ reduced the country national debt, at the time the country was earning $40 per barrel, the GEJ government despite all their shortcoming took loans only in Naira. Buhari government in it 5 years has increased the debt profile to $110 billion, that is $50 billion in 5 years! All in foreign currency. How, will Nigeria pay back the debt at $22 dollar per barrel.

The day Nigerian leadership will accept that oil is a product of Niger-Delta and not Nigeria, will be the day Nigeria begin to develop as a country.

All the hypocrites cussing Buhari should rather tell us what they would have done if they were in Buhari's shoes with the oil price this low and being the mainstay of our economy from one administration to another. Everyone has been paying lip service to diversification of the economy.
I guess it's easier to criticize than to profer solutions to problems, most of the hypocrites here never said anything when the last administration had to borrow to pay salaries despite earning the most in terms of oil revenue in the history in this country, but would abuse Buhari who hasn't earned half of what Jona earned and hasn't owed salaries but instead has been giving bailouts to states. Posterity will be kind to Buhari for this alone regardless of what you dimwits think
Buhari had the best chance to diversify the economy from oil, low oil revenues were the driver to transformed the economy.

1. Fixed the refineries and reduce fuel import (Buhari had the best part of 5 years but did nothing)
2. Increase tax revenue from 6% to 20% and based the national budget on customs, royalties and tax revenue and not unreliable oil export.
3. Disband NNPC, an organisation that cannot manage the pipeline, refineries, supply gas to the thermal gas turbines.

There lies the problem with Nigerian, instead of focusing on the interest of the suffering children they are more concerned with PDP vs APC.

I am not a fan of GEJ, but he did invest a lot in the North, especially in the field of education. Maybe he should have developed the Niger-Delta.

So Nigerians are asking to be spoonfed?

Lending rate is 25%, power supply is epileptic, Apapa ports are a nightmare for importers, the government has shut the borders, more goods are being banned and you say Nigerians are expecting to be spoonfed?

People are trying to find one means or the other to survive such as Okada's and tuktuks and government's are banning them left right and center.

The economy is barely growing 2% per Annum. No matter how hard Nigerians try, the forces against progress even with their best efforts is challenging.

Nigerians aren't asking to be spoonfed. On the contrary, they ask for too little but this government policy is always putting them down.

Look at car importation. A once thriving sector and government slams a 70% import duty on it. They have now turned many into smugglers.
What is stopping docile Nigerian from going onto the street and saying "No More". Nigerian protested in 2012 when GEJ tried to cut oil subsidies and invest in infrastructures. Nigeria protested to keep the oil subsidies that only benefited oil importers at the expense of infrastructure development.

Sowere, tried to organised street protest to force good governance but Nigeria stayed at home. If Nigerian refuse to fight for their right the only option is hardship and pain.
