Why not load taxi transport cards for Govt workers rather than official cars..

Lure an app based transport taxi system to the state, all there trips are paid for via the loaded card system.

Benefits;
- official destination trip tracking.
- massive employment mo up.
- employment for entrepreneur drivers.
- no maintenance bill.
- no purchase cost.
- investment in the private sector.
- better monitoring of Govt staff.

We need to start thinking outside the box...
You think the issues is about IDEAS. The man has on interest in innovation is how will he milk the system. Nigerian politician are all criminals.

I wish Sanusi had contested and won the presidential election in 2015 instead of buharia.

Man is so enlightened and exposed, and never afraid to drop his illuminating ideas on Northern issues even as they may antagonize the conservative nature of Northern Nigeria.

Case in hand is how he openly opposes the almajiri system in Northern Nigeria, which breeds millions of child beggars and out-of-school children.
Has he ever condemns the excesses of this government?

Attacking the poor and ignorance, while his ethnics men preside over a government that ignores government corruption and Fulani's militants.

We haven't forgotten the name of the real thieves...

The immediate past Minister of Finance, and Co-ordinating Minister for the Economy, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, was said to have illegally approved the transfer of at least N61.4 billion ($300 million and £5.5 million) from funds recovered from late dictator, Sani Abacha, to the Office of the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, few weeks to the 2015 presidential election, it was gathered, yesterday.

According to a letter signed by Okonjo-Iweala, which was obtained by online medium, Premium Times, the former Finance minister signed off the transfer of the funds but requested then President Goodluck Jonathan to directly demand accountability from the then National Security Adviser, Col Sambo Dasuki.
In her immediate reaction, however, Okonjo-Iweala explained that only a part of the fund recovered from late Abacha was spent on arms and not the entire fund.

Dasuki, alongside the former governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa, and founder of DAAR Communications, owners of Africa Independent Television and Raypower radio network, Raymond Dokpesi, are being investigated for their roles in the disbursement of $2.1 billion and N643 billion meant for the procurement of arms to fight the raging insurgency in Nigeria’s north east region.

Very solid structure that can easily be reclaimed and turned into housing or a hotel. This is where the Lagos government should be lobbying the Federal government.

Time to take wasting Federal Secretariat Ikoyi to ‘next level’

Federal Secretariat Ikoyi

After over three decades of wasting away, serving no purpose other than sitting on prime land in a prime location, time has come for the old Federal Secretariat in Ikoyi, Lagos, to be taken to the next level in line with President Muhammadu Buhari administration’s ‘next level’ agenda.

A national monument, in its own right, the federal secretariat represents a colossal waste in the midst of scarcity and want. It is one of the ‘dead assets’ in Nigeria that makes the need and call for land and property ownership reform in the country not only imperative but also urgent.

Nigeria has a rigid traditional land tenure system that hampers full-scale economic activities on land. This system is the reason for the country’s low industrialisation, housing development, agriculture, and other economic and productive activities that lead to the improved standard of living, job creation and economic growth.

The same rigid land tenure system is the reason for the huge waste the federal secretariat in Lagos has become just like other national monuments scattered all over the country.

The secretariat, which provided office space for federal civil servants while Lagos served as the federal capital, was part of the Federal Government’s properties in Lagos that was offloaded into the property market between 2003 and 2006 by the Olusegun Obasanjo administration in the country.

Almajiri is not Northern Nigeria culture, it's more like a poor adoption of Arabic madrassa school system.

In South-Western Nigeria they have Koranic study every Friday evening for a couple of hours.

At school Muslim student has the choice to select Islamic religious knowledge as an elective in primary and secondary school. The simple solution is to do away with Almajiri school and copy the South West Muslims.

Nigeria must review its political systems, any Nigerian that has been convicted either in Nigeria or in a foreign country shouldn't be allowed to hold public office. Bagudu is currently using the immunity of public office to avoid prosecution. His performance as Governor of Kebbi state is disappointing and the people in the state are suffering.

The United Nations Children Education Fund (UNICEF) has said of the 21 local councils in Kebbi State, 20 are consistently rated worst in child poverty and protection.

Representative of UNICEF field office in Sokoto, Dr. Danjuma Nehemiah, stated this yesterday at a two day state engagement planning workshop in collaboration with Kebbi State Ministry of Budget and Planning.

Boko Haram members, if they truly repent and have zero intention of furthering their criminal profession can be encouraged by such Ministry, just as militants were rehabilitated. It worked for Niger Delta, so I see no reason it will not work for the weaponized-amaljiri North.

If Boko Haram can be defeated with Love since we can not defeat them in war, it is better. That way we dont keep getting defrauded by the Military Heads and their foreign arms-dealers counterparts who also supply arms to Boko Haram to create business opportunities.

N/B:
I noticed vituperation from hate generators who are mostly Christians. It bothers me that you are not like your Jesus.

Niger Delta militants got rehabilitated and there is relative peace so I see no reason Boko Haram rehabilitation will not bring peace. I did not compare the level of offence but the peace that can be achieved.

Argue with your Jesus who said you should love your enemies.
The BH and ND militants are not the same, BH militant support a religious ideology, ND militant support access to the oil wealth. It's difficult and almost impossible to reform a religious fundamentalist group just look at Al Qaeda, ISIS and the Taliban. ND militants haven't been rehabilitated, they have been paid off by the government for access to the oil wealth, the militants are still a potential problem.

Unusual activities had hit Borno state after fleets of aircraft landed at the Maiduguri International Airport for the wedding of the son and daughter of Kyari Mele, group managing director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

The event, which held in the northeastern city on Saturday, saw Muhammad and Sadiya, the GMD’s son and daughter, get married to their different spouses.

It is believed that no less than 40 aircraft had conveyed prominent politicians, oil business moguls, friends and family members of the Meles for the spectacular ceremony.

Abuja and Lagos are what they are today because of our crude oil...Nigerian leaders in general failed , even your leaders failed, but for slave like u....I cast sense to ur head, receive it, ekpa
The Bini's conquers Lagos and used Lagos as a trading fort, the first people in Lagos were the Awori's.

I have no problem with other ethnic Nigerian living in Lagos as long as they are not constituting a nuisance as illegal settlers and squatters. If you are born in Lagos, you are a Lagosian in my opinion.

Lagos and Abuja are what they are because the leaders of both regions used their influence to ensure the development of both cities, what were the leaders of the Niger-Delta doing when their crude oil resources was being used to develop other regions.

I will suggest you direct your anger to the lazy Niger-Delta leaders, that despite having the leverage to be kingmakers of Nigeria, will rather behave like slaves. Even if the Lagos State government was as efficient as the government of Norway, it cannot manage the unsustainable migration of illegal settlers from other parts of the country, we thought when Abuja was made the capital, Nigerian will flock to Abuja, instead, the migration has increased, turning Lagos into a shithole when it is supposed to be the financial and commercial hub of Nigeria.

I support the notion of restructuring the country into 6 regions and reduced the centralisation of government, let each regions be provided with the funds to build their own Abuja

Sanusi is a privilege Northerner that has benefited from Northerner Nigerian backwardness.

Political Sharia Law is the root cause of Northern Nigeria underdevelopment. As long as there is Sharia law in the North there will be child marriage and Almajiri schools, nothing will change In Northern Nigeria because that region refuses to face the truth.

Let Sanusi start attacking Buhari as he did GEJ, if he wants to effect change, instead of using his office to promote his friend El -Rufai as the next president of Nigeria.

A country with a debt profile of $100 billion, an income of $35 million and 100 million Nigerian living in extreme poverty has an uphill task and needs action and not speech.

There's no need to build White Elephants...

Both of Nigeria's major international gateways in Lagos and Abuja are built to be EXPANDABLE....
Meanwhile, traffic at both airports are less than capacity, and if/when required both would probably be expanded.
>
Some international airports are designed to reduce the workload on surrounding infrastructures such as roads, rails, parking and accommodation as in the case of Stanstead and Gatwick international airports in the UK

When Abuja airport was shut down for repairs, air traffic was successfully relocated to nearby Kaduna airport with connecting roads and rail between both cities.

An airport can be shut down for multiple reasons such as poor weather, terrorism or in the case of Nigeria lack of maintenance, however, having another international airport close by will avoid the international embarrassment of redirecting air traffic to a foreign country.

An international airport doesn't have to be large megastructures that cause billions of dollars it can be small, but design for international travel.

Building an international airport in a city of 3 million like Ibadan will open up the state to international business and improve regional logistics.
