But I often advise my peers and other young folks who desire the best in graduate studies to apply directly for Phd instead of going the MS route. It depends on a lot though. Will PM you later.

@ benom, if the school accepts VISA card for payment, let me know. You can also walk into any Skye bank branch, request for a prepaid VISA card. If you provide all the requirements you will get it the same day. But make sure the payment portal of the school you're applying to accepts VISA card.

@ aroy, no calculators were allowed. As regards my scores, I already answered that. Check my previous posts. Please spend time to improve on your performance in the verbal section. It could affect your overall score positively or negatively. I assume you're going for an Engineering course. All the best bro. Will add you on ym.

@ aroy, Oklahoma State University,Stillwater. I had a 770/800 in the Quant, my verbal score was appalling. Can't be mentioned, (SMH) but scored 104/120 in the TOEFL iBT. That made up for my dismal performance in the GRE verbal section. Then I had 4/6 in the A.W. Section.

@ Oja P, for graduate studies there is a website that proved invaluable to me during my application process. The website is,

There you can see school rankings, general admission requirements and funding opportunities. There are other useful websites too like gradscafe.com.

A lot of factors affect choice of university for postgraduate studies so one must thread carefully in making a choice. I guess some state schools are cheaper and have more flexible admission policies. Just my two cents.

The above scholarship came out in The Nation newspaper on 10th August 2010. I can't post all the details here because i only glanced through the paper but what i have below should do.

Conditions:

1. Indigene of Niger delta

2. You must have been given admission into any recognised foreign university, for Post Graduate studies (masters or Phd) in Engineering, Medicine, sciences, etc.

3. You must provide a recommendation letter 4rm either a recognised chief or trad ruler, high court judge, L.G.A. chairman, House of rep member, senator etc.

4. For MSc must be less than 30yrs and for Phd., less than 35 years.

5. For MSc., you  must have at least a 2.2 from a reputable university.

6. For Phd., a masters degree from a reputable university.

The real website is www.nddcscholarships.com. I don't know why the website in the original advert is wrong.

1. Your admission letter.
2. Local Goverment Identification.
3. Passport photograph.
4. Degree certificates

I need your advice and suggestions concerning a particular issue. I'm a chemical engineering graduate and just completed the NYSC scheme. I've been sending out job applications and recently I job a job offer at a Media firm. The nature of the job seems time-consuming and i'm not really keen on a career switch. The pay is about a mille per annum and though everyone seems to advice i take the job, i feel it will hinder me from taking advantage of other opportunities that may come my way.

I planned going to grad school in the US this September but it didn't really work out as planned so I'm giving it another shot as against next September. I was hoping to get an engineering job that can offer some years of relevant experience and a good pay, even if i may have to let go of my plans to go to grad school.

So, I'm thinking, accepting the offer will mean I will have to resume in August. The pay will help in my application to grad school and other personal expenses but I may not get the time to do all the running around. Also, i may not be able to save as much as I planned to for grad school and attending other interviews/tests may be a problem.

What do you guys think? The Media firm in question has good prospects and I know I won't have to stay long before i take on more senior roles at the firm.

I'm in no way in support of Military brutality. But there is often cause for it. What did you expect the soldiers to do? Negotiate or beg them? I dey bow for you oh. I've had my experience with these LASTMA officials before and it was ugly. Very ugly. They regard no man, even when a few exceptions should be made. You don't Bleep with the military, not in Nigeria or any other country. The authority given to the officials have been abused over time and no one has said anything about it till now. Why?

Bloody civilians. I blame the Lagos state government for not monitoring their activities. Never met officials so proud and rude in my life. Dem dey even follow police drag sef. Serves them right. Afterall, the soldiers were already taking care of the trailer. Dem for chase dem enter barracks na. Na dia their own for end.

People, love God with all your heart and also guard it. Do not allow the devil sow seeds of evil in your heart that end up questioning your belief in the Almighty God. I'm a proud member of Christ Embassy and I've never had cause to doubt the authenticity of such miracle claims. I've seen a number of people get healed at crusades. I don't think it is also my business to go about trying to verify claims from the healed. I listen to the word of God, abide by it and preach it.
