@ benom, LOL. Abeg no blame ETS. I'm sure they've sent it since then. You should know by now that we have the best mail delivery system in the world. Just do as gongo aso said and you will get it. @ chukschuks, either you having a problem with reading or you are just retarded. Read the title of the thread, and maybe a few pages and you would know if this is the right place for you or not. @ kwizzy, you didn't respond to my mail. What are you up to? Beep me when you get this. |
@ electronic, that is exactly what I'm waiting for. Didn't get the first time but I was told my application would be reconsidered for aid for Spring 2011. I'm hoping to hear from them anytime soon. Did you apply there and what dept? |
@ benom, My brother pardon my attitude. Been so busy with work and other stuffs. I'll beep you later on ym. |
I'm in Lasgidi, in the Federal Repulblic of Naija. Applied for Spring 2011 admission. Florida? No. Whenever I hear Florida, what comes to mind is Fluorish toothpaste. |
Whao! Quite a long post. Congrats bro. |
@ masepat, I'm here. About the TOEFL thingy, if you can request for the scores to be mailed to you again, then that wouldn't be bad. Otherwise you can still put up a defence as I said earlier. I remember some time last year, I sent a letter with some documents attached to a friend at MIT and he received it in one week. He responded to the mail sometime in October 2009 and since then, I've not received it. We tried c tracking it all to no avail. I had to resend the documents by courier and he did same too. You can imagine how much it cost us. So, blame the system, simple. I'm expecting to hear from my school by tomorrow. Trying not to be anxious. @ Vandops, email me your digits bro. We need to talk. |
@ Vandops, I'm good bro. And I noticed you have been offline lately. I will beep you later today. Howz UMBC? @ Rufusuzoma, excreta cracking? OYO for you oh, @ masepat, you can use your statement of result, they know it takes ages for one to get a degree certificate here in Naija. About the TOEFL stuff, you can use the print-out but if asked, let the consular know that you requested for it but it hasn't been delivered yet because of the sluggish mail delivery system. They know that too. LOL. I'm waiting to hear from my school on Friday. Till then, I won't be making any appointment. I already have all the required documents except the financials which should be ready by next or upper week. Meanwhile, I'm checking out accommodation and flight options. I guess I'll book for a date in November, maybe 4th week. |
I guess most folks are waiting for either admission updates or I-20s. Anyway, who has booked an appointment and for what date? |
You're welcome bro. @ house, the house has been silent for some days now. Any updates? |
PDP? Are you guys kidding me? *smh* Whether IBB, or Atiku or GEJ, as long as itz PDP, they're all f****d up! What have they succeded in doing in the past 12 years? Dubai was built with $6 billion. Itz that same Dubai they're all running to, acquiring properties like they're buying toys. What will it cost the government to create stability in all the systems in the country? We need a total revolution. A radical think-tank that would be aggressive in his approach to handling national issues. As far as I'm concerned, Mr. Resource Control is a pawn, The "yoruba turned hausa" oldie is a thief and the obstinate ex-VP is a joker! If only Ribadu was not an OBJ loyalist, he would be a perfect candidate for the change we need in Nigeria. The other dude that wants to turn politics in Nigeria to a family birthright is just a gay! God help us as we journey into the unknown in the hands of these men. In the end, my vote will go to Ribadu. Thatz because I'm out of options. |
@ poster, I couldn't have said it any better. Good job. |
sanciro:Sorry bro, superbrainNL@gmail.com |
@ cuddlemii, book an appointment early, say November so you can have enough time prepare for your trip. I won't advise anyone resuming school 1st week of January to book an appointment late in December. Now that you got your I-20, you can pay your SEVIS fee and also book your appointment. Just take it a step at a time. |
@ seedord247, it's quite unfortunate that you applied to a school that requires some form of committment before issuing an admission letter and I-20. Did you not apply to other schools? If that's your only option then you can go ahead and make the payment so your documents can arrive in time for your chosen appointment date. So, go ahead if you're out of options. |
Already in final year and still thinking of undergrad? Why would anyone consider such? Best bet is to head for grad school than waste your time and money pursuing undergrad studies. |
seadog406:Spot on bro. Couldn't have said it any better. Sanciro, hope you're grabbing every detail. That's why we said, the more we know, the better help we can render. @ Ojap, trust you can help out with the application fee stuff for the dude. @ others who need to pay their application fees with credit card, you can walk into any Skye Bank branch, request for a VISA prepaid card, pick it up immediately you furnish them with the requirements and make your payment. PLEASE, YOU CANNOT USE IT TO PAY FOR YOUR SEVIS FEE OH! You can check previous comments on the thread for the best way to go about that. Will post when I get it in more details. @ seniorak47, Bros, I hail thee, will beep you on ym later. |
Sorry I meant cases* |
benom:Thanks bro. I will book mine soon against November. I'll beep you now, arshy:My brother, thanks a lot. @ House, so who's next in line? @ Sanciro, we're still waiting for your response. All hope is not lost. There have been worse case so try to speak up. |
Hello house, sorry this is coming a bit late. My birthday was yesterday, September 21. I'm sorry I didn't mention it previously. ![]() |
@ Sanciro, sorry about your denial. But, I'm still wondering why you were denied. Is there something you didn't mention to us? The best way to help yourself is to let the house know which questions you were asked that you think you bleeped in responding to. From what you posted, I see no reason for the denial. Or was it your composure? Be more detailed. |
sanciro:Success to you bro. Come back with a testimony. |
@ bug24, you no know? abi u just start to dey use internet? dem yahoo boys know watz up. @ Dual Core, thanks alot. @ others, thanks. Will do the needful. |
benom:You can. Just make sure you can explain if asked. Try to take along an evidence too, probably an email from the school indicating a deficiency in your background and the reason for the conditional admission. If the deficiency is as a result of poor grades and it is indicated in the email, then tough luck. But if it is due to a deficiency the undergraduate coursework then you have leverage. Trust me, the consulars know that we have a terrible educational system. sanciro:Bro, you'll be the first Spring 2011 candidate for interview. Abeg, start the victory chain reaction. As concerns your interview, post the documents you have with you, red flags you hope to cover-up, and your major other school details. No need to be apprehensive though I understand the anxiety part. But you have just two days to go. Any suggestions now about what you should have done or shouldn't have will only make you more anxious. The ball is in your court.lekkynel:Lekkynel, your starting point should be from page 1 of this thread. Trust me, you won't have much questions after you have perused the whole 127 pages. ( 127? |
Please i need a pro to design an advert banner for me. Forward samples of your previous work and cost to dokeleke at yahoo dot com. Please be detailed. Thank you. Better still call 0806331807. Add zero again after the seven. |

OjaP:Thank God for a safe trip. Why are you thinking of transferring when you haven't even started classes? Get settled, start your classes and after a semester or two, you'll know whether to transfer or not. It ain't easy settling into a new place. |
kwizzy212:If you're in Lagos, i can give you the Barron's TOEFL iBT software. It's over 400MB so you might need to get a flash drive that can accommodate that. Drop your email. seniorak47:Check www.msinus.com. You will get more than enough information. vandops:Brother, thank you so much. Preparation in earnest. Preparing my little skull for the days ahead. ![]() 4ril:Good job bro. |
masepat:Oga, no worry. I'm also waiting on them (NDDC) too. I gbadun that your school. Wanted to apply there for Masters in EME but they never replied my mails and were always rude on the phone. "Deuces" to them, OjaP:Safe trip tomorrow bro. Keep in touch. See you next summer. |
femiap:I'm having issues with the application on my phone. Drop your email so i can email you instead. Been busy with a lot. Most people are waiting for admission letters and I-20s. @ House, so who's set to book an appointment? |
The programme was a success. Period! @ debosky, "deluded" is a mean word and was not called for. Everyone has his/her opinion about things. The fact that you see it as insane does not mean it is. I remember that fateful day that Pastor Chris himself couldn't leave the venue until about 4pm when the programme actually ended by 5am. So was it his making? As a moderator, people respect what you are. Let them also get to respect who you are and what you stand for. @ poster, you did well by giving a brief summary about the programme but the title you used was controversial. It wasn't necessary. I'm glad it has been changed. |
benom:Have you seen my reply? |
LOL. I just hope I am not asked.Though I have a few points to use in defence- the PI bill and how my presence and contribution will be critical to national development, completion of NYSC, and a letter from a government agency (one whose mission is related to my area of research) stating the relevance of what I will be studying to national development. I'm also hoping to secure a scholarship that will compel me to return after my studies.(yeah, I want to return after my studies). Any other suggestion will be welcomed. |
