iyke648: Men i agree totally wit u. I wud go 4 fashola as president and Rochas as deputy. Dat wil make Nigeria great
If only people could just abandon their tribal nonsense for once this, as well as Fashola/Duke Fashola/Amechi would be an excellent combo
PoliticsRe: 2015 Presidency: Count Me Out —fashola by Sweetlemon(f):
Beaf: Fashola is in his 2nd term and yet Tinubu is still controlling him like a baby. It only took GEJ months into his term.
Sorry, but Fashola has no balls.
Sorry beaf, but I will prefer a Tinubu-controlled Fashola to a million "independent" GEJs anytime, any day
PoliticsRe: 2015 Presidency: Count Me Out —fashola by Sweetlemon(f): 9:20am On May 31, 2012
Do you know what sets Fashola apart other politicians in Nigeria? it's not that he's a saint or that he does not have some stolen money somewhere. He's a damn good politician! He's the most intelligent politician Nigeria ever had and knows how to play the game of politics so well. he knows what to say, when to say it, how to say it, and who to say it to. He hits the bull's eye with such prcecision and accuracy that it becomes difficult for you to argue with him! He also is aware that actions speaks louder than words so he spends more time WORKING. He doesn't give excuses for shortcomings, or engaging in the blame games that politicians love playing, instead he accepts responsibilty for it. He sees an oppurtunity and grabs it tight. He also has this air of humility around him. These and more are the things that sets him apart.
EducationRe: UNILAG Shut Down Over MAU Name Change Protests by Sweetlemon(f): 4:43pm On May 30, 2012
To me, the annoying thing here is not actually the renaming in itself. It is the annoying way the govt keeps chasing after rats when its house is raging with fire! It's just soooooooo annoying watching their show of misplaced priorites all the time. With this, I think the students have every right to protest cos apart from the fact that Unilag is already an established name, they should be angry that the only thing the govt can think of doing for them (admist all the problems dying for attention in their school) is changing the name of their university! If I were them, I would also feel insulted
PoliticsRe: Don’t Abandon Me In These Trying Times, Jonathan Begs Nigerians by Sweetlemon(f): 4:42pm On May 28, 2012
londoner: I don't remember saying he was successful.....but to be honest he is no worse than those before him. My issue is that Nigerians are looking to him as if he is the Jesus that will change water to wine or Moses who will part the Red Sea..... for them....

Nigeria's success or failure will be and is as a result of Nigerians and what they do or fail to do........from the president right down to you and me...........that is FACT...

So he has not yet stopped Boko Haram in their tracks....did you think he could?
So he has not yet stopped corruption single handedly....again did you honestly think he could?

Even the things you disagree with, like the budget, did you honestly expect him to police himself?

The tasks people are expecting him to have delivered by now are insurmountable for one man and unrealistic.

That can only be done with an administration that is largely focused on anti- corruption and also a people who are largely incorruptible and have their sleeves rolled up ready to work and sacrifice.......that is not the Nigeria I see before me currently to be honest. I feel that Nigerians as the electorate and citizens have been failures to be honest........they always step back and let failure happen. They thought going out to vote was all..........that was just the beginning. They have not yet seen their responsibility in this and how they have been the catalyst for todays Nigeria.

With a different type of people, the "colossal failures" as you put it would not occur in every single administration year upon year........

The man is not a magician or stronger than the prevailing political and social culture of Nigeria/ns.

If only moaning and pointing out obvious flaws delivered actual change.....Nigeria would now be a paradise.....lol.
He's no worse? ok. which president ever made an over %100 increment in fuel price on JAN 1SThuh
which president ever said that terrorism is something it's citizens should "live with?"
please mention the last time you heard of multi-billion (not million o!) Naira and even dollar scams flying all over the place? when?

crackhouse: who told u she is from a rich family
Well, I don't know. I got that impression cos they are now looking for help from HER family besides, who paid for the wedding? A man can never go to such lengths to lie to a woman and her family just to marry her if he is not looking for something there. Anyway, that does not mean anything unless you are trying to say that ALL women who married oil coy husbands are materialistic! So any woman not marrying a jobless or lowly paid husband is materialistic to you ba?

FamilyRe: Her Husband Lied About His Job by Sweetlemon(f): 9:12pm On May 27, 2012
I can bet that most of the guys accusing the girl of being materialistic have been dumped because they don't have money and so they feel it is all girls who are materialistic! I am a woman and I can say that sometimes when we women are in love, or should I say when we think we are in love, we are almost blind to any other thing in a man. Now, don't forget this girl comes from a rich family, so why would she be so excited about an oil coy guy? A cousin of mine who is an American citizen also fell into this kind of trap! She was so blindly in love that she couldn't see she was just a green card to him! When a man is scheming, when a man wants to swim his way into a woman's bank acc, I tell you, even Jack Bauer will not be able to figure him out! That's the truth!
@OP sorry about everything. I advice you not to give any money. If you want to help out, help him with a job. These days you can study anything and work almost anywhere! My sis studied history but she's a manger in a big telecomms coy. The best way to help a man catch fish is to teach him how to fish. If you start now to give him cash, get ready to continue giving him money forever.

If you think that "I love you" is the hardest word to say, then try saying "Goodbye" to someone you love

RomanceRe: Even Pretty Girls Cry At Night by Sweetlemon(f):
From replies here, I can see that most guys dissing pretty girls here do so because they have been rejected by one or two pretty girls. Hello! even what you will call an ugly girl (who has a healthy self esteem) knows what she wants in a man so its not every man that approaches her that she agrees to. But anyway, you are free to go on stereotyping pretty girls if it makes you feel better

Because life is not as rosy as people think for pretty girls! And as Nayah said they are ordinary flesh and blood with hearts which are just as vulnerable to pain as any regular girl on the street.
