This is what stands NNPC out... The recruitment is usually widely advertised and, to a large extent, people are taken on merit. I have never applied for a job with them but I know a couple of people who got into NNPC in 2012...really smart people...first class brains who are everyday Nigerians.

The only problem with their process is that it can be cancelled at any time... Those that were taken in 2012 applied in 2010!!!! and those who applied in 2012 wrote aptitude tests but it hasn't seen the light of day.

Bottom line is, When NNPC employs it is largely a free and fair process

NNPC advertises. Yes. Just like other companies do. But trust me they may fix in one or two lucky people but already know who they're taking.

I don't get it. Are Northerners not part of Nigeria anymore?
So why do some Southerners scream "Northerener" anytime they are given appointments? The recent NNPC appointments were well balanced btw North and South. When Buhari appoints Southerners Northerners don't complain. Why are you so damn selfish?

Olodo like you.

Terrorism is a global thing nowadays and you need cooperation to be able thwart any plans by terrorists before they can carry out their acts.

You must have been deaf to what just happened in Ivory Coast, Turkey, Burkina Faso and Mali.

These terrorists work in cells and transfer resources and expertise to their other ranks and you need for greater cooperation to be able to thwart such.

Even Isreal has treaties with Jordan and Egypt aimed at enhancing their defense and improve intelligence gathering. The era of isolationist countries has gone.

I hope you learnt something and won't open that decade long unbrushed teeth another time to sprout out hogwash.

I don't know o. But does it not look like we are selling Nigeria to China? You don't Give out your main source of income in exchange for anything o. Maybe when we can diversify the economy we can do that. But for now........

Tremendous improvement here in Surulere LGA Lagos state.
Sai Baba has 3 more years to prove himself and so it would be highly unfair to judge him as a failure after just 9 months.

TBH, I am now convinced beyond reasonable doubt that Nigeria's problems is beyond leadership, but a societal one. Are we just intellectually deficient or chronically prejudiced.
---
This was an interview where the Minister was specifically asked about the exchange rate situation. He tried to explain the factors that influence the rate making reference to oil price. He simply said the SITUATION (exchange rate) was beyond the president since he does not control oil price. He never said the ECONOMY was beyond the President’s control as misrepresented by the media.
---
How the media gets away with such mischief is beyond me. Worse still is the fact that 80% of readers do not even notice this distortion of facts. These are people that will later assume leadership positions. With such shallowness among citizens, the future is even more uncertain.

This is one of the reasons why I'm all for this media bill. I don't read ANY news site at all and anything not reported on Channels News is not taken seriously.

I remember when OBJ did this during his own time. Most people including I accused him of chasing after rabbits while his own house was on fire.
But what was the outcome? Total debt relief!

Why don't we just wait to see the outcome of Bubu's travels? How one would think that Buhari goes to all these places for sight-seeing is beyond me. We have already started seeing the effects on the oil price.

Nigerians though!

As good as the move sounds, they should also remember that Ikorodu is probably the fastest growing residential area in Lagos, and moving the mile 12 market would put so much pressure on the current infrastructure in Ikorodu.
What plans do they have for the roads in Ikorodu?
How will the area and security agencies in Ikorodu deal with the influx of traders and customers?
Moving the market doesn't solve the issue that caused the fighting, we just changed locations.

We (Nigeria as a country) should learn to do things holistically.

You're right though

you have been busy defending Buhari as if he is infallible .I wonder if you are paid to do it ,that would be understandable . Let me tell you a secret-Never defend anyone in life. The same person you defend is the onethat will kill you . Never trust anyone ,not even your mother and yourself . at the end of Buhari's tenure nothing will change . both Buhari and Jonathan and the next president after Buhari are failures . Do not put your trust in human beings . Do not say that you have the best partner or team in the world or " till death do us part" or put you trust in anyone to be loyal and faithful to you. you will learn the hard way in life.

Infallible? No. Buhari is very very human. He will make mistakes every now and then. Just like when he should have gone through the budget himself or asked an aide he can confide in to do so for him.
But the important thing is that so far, I can see some solid ground work underway and it's a only a matter of time before we start feeling it in our daily lives.

I thought Buhari said there is no local government area occupied by boko Haram any more? Which one are they talking about? Honestly, buhari lies too much, there is nothing like integrity in his lying tongue. That man and Lai Mohammed are the Same.

Which one is more important to you? The fact that the place was reclaimed (please I hope you saw where they said the army reclaimed it earlier but BH sneaked in again?) or the fact that Lai "lied"?
Are you not at least happy that the displaced people can now go back to their homes?
When your hero was there why did he wait till a month to elections before he started actively fighting BH? At least Buhari is not using BH to campaign so I appreciate his efforts a lot more than your wicked hero who was more interested in approving billions of dollars meant for arms to be diverted into croonies pockets.
Why do wailers have this knack for turning good news into something to cry about biko? Una well so?

Politics / If This Isn't Change, I Don't Know What Else Is! by Sweetlemon(f): 3:56pm On Feb 29, 2016
Oh so just because dollar rate is unstable now and some criminally minded Nigerians are taking advantage of it to rip us off you claim you can't see change?

Just because PHCN is still not where we want it to be, not forgetting that last year we had the worst case ever during GEJ/PDP rule where even the biggest hotels, hospitals, telecoms companies, banks, schools, radio/TV stations, etc were shutting down due to both fuel scarcity and epileptic power supply? I remember then there wasn't even expensive fuel to buy and PHCN wasn't even flashing at all. You say you can't see change?

Just because BH are still throwing uncoordinated attacks here and there, despite the fact that they no longer release daring videos or have LGAs under them, you can't see change?

So you can't see change because Buhari has been "junketing" around the place since he became President? You are not aware that OBJ also did a lot of international relations and got total debt relief as a result? You are not aware that since Buhari came in African countries have shown a lot more respect to Nigeria? Look at big foreign firms now bowing to FG pressue and paying up fines or compensating customers. Look at the respect WA countries are now according us, we used to have ordinary Egypt, Morocco calling our bluff during GEJ, now can they dare?? Haven't we seen Buhari take prominence in very critical world issues during his numerous trips? Hasn't USA now agreed to send troops to us and even sell us weapons? Now we are seeing Buhari strengthen ties with the biggest players in the oil business. Now tell me all the junketing is a waste! You still can't see the change?

When was the last time you heard of ear-bursting sums of money disappearing? When was the last time looters like Dasuki and Moro (who held sensitive positions during GEJ despite their mind-bogging criminally-natured looting that caused the deaths of thousands of people) been sent to jail like the common criminals that they are?? The courts have just ordered OBJ and GEJ to account for recovered loots in their eras. When last did we have that? Don't you think it's a good sign for future public officers that they too could go to jail if they don't handle our national wealth with the fear of God? You can't find the change yet?

The FG has banned a list of commodities to be imported into the country and will still ban more. Does that not give hopes of a better economy ahead if we Nigerians can just play our own part? Usually the Nigerian customs generates over Billions of Naira every year but remitting only a paltry sum to the FG. but For the first time, in the seven months of Buhari's administration, Nigeria Customs is said to have generated N903billion and the new Comptroller-General, Hamid Ali, remitted all the N903billion. Please tell me that is not a perfect way of setting a new record for future Comptroller-Generals! Are you still looking for the change?

So just because you're not yet seeing roads being done, and other big FG projects being executed, forgetting that Buhari is yet to implement his first budget, you can't see change? Be patient Nigerians! The projects will soon start rolling in when Baba has done enough ground work. Before moving into a new house, you first of all clean it up. I know we are still largely in pains, but try put on a pair on binoculars and see that the future is bright ahead.

God bless The Federal Republic Of Nigeria!
