zanshi:Maybe you should think about it differently. If the business should collapse, you loose nothing. Your employer bears all the risks. So, it is common sense that when there is a profit, they’ll rake it in. |
Djdeebrain:Sociopath on the loose. Understand that one day, you may be fortunate to have your own establishment. A disgruntled employee will be sure to pay you back in a your own coin. |
IkennaOkongwu:Stop hiding Behind a nameless and faceless site to try and pull others down!!! Are you an employer of labor in Nigeria? If you are, you’ll understand that any graduate who accepts that kind of job is just passing time until their dream job comes. They have a lackadaisical attitude and let you know they are only doing this out of necessity. The graduates are actually better than those who stopped at secondary school for one reason or the other. Those ones act like you have to give them a tip bigger than their attitude. I hate to hear the question “anything for the boys?’ A security man does the job he is paid for, and asks the question. A lady serves you while having a conversation with another person. The conversation is too interesting to take a pause and do her job, but still expects a tip. If you’re a guy, she focuses on you with her widest beam, hoping you’ll give her your card. The guys that work in these places are sometimes gigolos. They don’t do anything to improve themselves, but complain about their employers, the customers that are not giving them large enough tips, the men that are stingy.... I agree it is not all of them that are so unfocused. Once in a while, I come across a decent hardworking person and I usually compliment them on this especially in front of their employers. So, stop trying to badmouth this establishment. You sound like a disgruntled former employee of theirs. |
Racoon:If you watch CNN, you’ll understand that they try as much as possible to put an exaggerated spin on anything to do with Nigeria. I used CNN as an example of how foreigners generally view Nigeria and Africa as a whole. They should kindly watch what is going on in their country. American elections that was a yardstick for other nations is presently playing out as a parody. As for the Lekki killings that we keep hearing of online, is there anyone that has the list of at least some of the people that were killed? We have heard different numbers being publicized. Some say about seventy something got killed!!!! Don’t they have family members or friends to take their names to the committee? There should be dead bodies with bullets embedded in them! I remember reading that the dead bodies where stolen by the soldiers who came there. If this was true, did the dead people go To the venue of the protest without friends or family? No one to contact their families or friends? A few names have crept up online as belonging to those killed at Lekki, only for their families to come online to refute these claims. A guy came himself to state that he was very much alive. Lets stop enriching people unnecessarily. Those chosen to investigate this case will be paid. If there was a massacre, let people who witnessed this come forward and tell this committee. If there was none, Let’s stop wasting time chasing shadows and focus on rebuilding lagos and the nation at large. Imagine over 100 buses meant for those without cars have been burnt. Those who carried out such a nefarious act have no idea they just made some members of the government richer. |
VirginSearcher:Of course! Blame Buhari for the personal choices of some murderers and repugnant men. |
I have read some bizarre posts on this Nairaland. However, the most blood curdling thing is the depravity of the minds that leave totally absurd comments here. |
fineboynl:Did Tinubu kill anyone at Lekki? Was there any massacre? Have you been to the toll gate to check yourself? What is wrong with you people fighting so hard to maintain a lie? Do you know that if Oando is not quick and proactive, many lives will be lost from this fire? That we feel that Tinubu is not an honorable or honest person does not mean we accuse him of what did not take place. |
nedekid:Her action is totally wrong. In another country, she’ll be sued for emotional trauma and made to pay. If she talked to the girl in private and she refused to listen, then she could limit her interactions with the girl afterwards. After all, she was only there to invigilate. |
Madam invigilator!!!! Could she not have called the poor girl to talk to her one on one? Very nasty woman!!!! |
illicit:Grow up!!!! |
While Aisha Yesufu is right, I don’t think this is the way to go about getting results. We do not want anymore deaths or loss of properties. She can approach the governor with constructive criticism and proffer solutions that are attainable. |
uuzba:That person still has a relationship with Christ. God says he will Never leave nor forsake us. He has a way of always bringing back his children who have wandered away for any reason. There is a parable in the Bible of one who had a hundred sheep. When he lost one, he left the ninety nine and went in search of the lost one. Depression is real, but God keeps us in Him. |
donprinyo:Please just stop! That one has a relationship with Christ does not make us immune from hurt. It was because she was hurting that she wanted to kill herself. That she did not kill herself with all that was going on in her life is simply the grace of God. Stop acting like a relationship with Christ means you cannot get hurt. People have been killed because of their faith in Christ. They died! That we are still alive especially in a very perverse world is simply the grace of God. |
Minsk24:How long will these old wounds take to heal? Most of us know nothing of these old wounds. Are you perhaps talking about the civil war? All sides suffered casualties. So whatever the old wounds are, it is time to leave them behind and move on as one country. |
Busybody fan!!! Who is this fan to call anyone to order on social media? A relative, perhaps even her mother? |
Senatoraku:That he apologized does not mean that his words were not misconstrued. |
KosiGee:You give credit by calling someone gullible? Hmm! Apologies accepted. |
Uyi168:Okay, I’m not doing this. I asked because I really was interested. I’m not getting into any unnecessary argument. |
KosiGee:You follow someone sheepishly without thinking for yourself, and you attack anyone with a contrary opinion. Who is the gullible one? You who refuses to be objective! |
Nnamdi is very articulate. Intelligence wise, I expected so much better. |
Kanu does not have the intellectual capability to start anything. He jumped on the bandwagon inciting Igbos to kill Buhari and other Nigerians when it started. He said they should kill Wike! He sounded so irrational and full of hatred and venom. Now he is trying to take credit for this? Then he should be arrested for war crimes. The Federal government should let every country know And there will be no country he can hide. |
Emyogalanya:You compare him to Jesus and Mohammed? You actually worship him? Why? |
VULCAN:Your personal attacks on me won’t change the facts. Check my profile and you’ll see when I joined Nairaland. I did not surface from nowhere. Check and you’ll see that I’m not one to rush to make comments. That for the past few weeks I’ve been making comments is because I felt the need to. I actually prefer to have discussions with those who will focus on issues and not try to turn everything into a personal bashing pastime. You’re sitting down behind a keyboard and writing comments to increase the rage of people. People have died, some lost their jobs, criminals let loose ... what did you loose? From the very beginning, the government agreed to the people’s demand of NO MORE SARS. That the people have lost faith in the words of the government is true. But instead of the wanton destruction of lives and property that went on, other measures could have been put in place. The people could have insisted on a watch group to monitor and make sure that SARS was disbanded, and the crazy ones among them got psychological treatments. Whether you like it or not, former SARS members will be absorbed into other groups. It is more dangerous to sack them all. In looking for solutions, you have to think of the good of all. |
kalu61:Absolutely nothing! |
olusledge:But that is between his wife and him. For all we know, the wife might have forgiven him by now. |
VULCAN:Please don’t blame me for your inability to comprehend. I don’t care about being on the same page as anyone. I care about truth and the impact that our actions have. So kindly stop talking like I’m out to please you or anyone. True, I try to couch my words so they won’t be hurtful, but that is just the way I was brought up. Don’t make an issue where there’s none. |
What a bitter woman! What is her business if his wife feeds him? How is this anyone’s business? The issues he raised are not wrong. People sat on social media and incited others who got killed. People and organizations got robbed. People hiding behind social media and inciting others With lies is totally wrong. The people asked the government to end SARS. The government agreed. That the people have lost faith in the promises of government does not give anyone the right to Use social media to incite others to go on a killing spree as well as damaging properties. Imagine burning down buildings, hundreds of brt buses!!! How does that help solve anything? Now people are left stranded as they wait for a bus. So many now find themselves unemployed! And the dead remain lifeless. |
Why don’t we wait and see the measures that will be put in place to check the excesses of law enforcement agents in Nigeria? Abuse of power is actually prevalent in so many sectors of Nigeria. Look at electricity providers for instance. Why don’t we all have meters? Why do they still give estimated bills like they are crazy? When the people are unable to meet up or bribe them, they threaten to cut them off. Some of us are fortunate to get the meters, but it took a while. I truly believe that those without meters should not pay any bills. How about the ports authority? Nigeria needs a complete overhaul of all its systems. I don’t agree with mayhem and killings as a means to achieve this though. |
If a man won’t let his wife work, then he should put some measures in place to take care of his family’s future. Have a separate account in his wife’s name which she’ll have excess to when he dies. Put the house and every single property in both their names. If he can, open accounts for each child right from when they are born. All monies realized at the naming ceremony should go into the child’s account. Periodically, he can put some money into the account. Men should invest in good shares. Finally, men should have wills!!! They should be specific as to who inherits what!!!! |
RemoveKebab:War is death! In Nigeria, war will be the Needless death of millions of people! Let’s stop romanticizing war wondering who has the power to win and see it for what it is. |
I have always respected this lawyer, but today, I doubt his integrity and his intentions. Which parent on this earth is afraid of anything or anyone when it comes to The unjust killing of their children? A Nigerian woman won’t take it well if you just beat up her child. Meanwhile this the death of her child and she is to afraid to speak out? This is some serious reaching!!!! Let us stop all this rubbish! |
misano:The army said they killed NOBODY at Lekki. The post is still on Nairaland. |
