Rich4god: Today's meditation.... Words of St Vincent de Paul
When you are called from your prayers or the Eucharistic celebration to serve the poor, you lose nothing, since to serve the poor is to go to God. You must see God in the faces of the poor. It is our duty to prefer the service of the poor to everything else and to offer such service as quickly as possible. If a needy person requires medicine or other help during prayer time, do whatever has to be done with peace of mind. Offer the deed to God as your prayer…. Charity is certainly greater than any rule. Moreover, all rules must lead to charity.
The message is simple.... Charity should be your number one priority in your spiritual, physical and "emotional" life. At all times, as long as you have the capability, no matter how little, you shouldn't shy away or give reason for not doing the work of charity. Don't say you are late to Mass, don't say it's your offering/tithe money, dont say you are in prayer.... An act of charity is technically not supposed to be proposed. Imagine if the good Samaritan didn't turn up in the parable told by Christ and the wounded man died afterwards. How would you feel if you were to be among those that passed the wounded man without helping him, then you get to hear the news about his death...? Food for thought.
Good morning friends... O Lord, help me to set my priorities right always. Thanks bro, once again. Good morning brethren, a splendid weekend ahead to all. |

Rich4god: Today's meditation.... Words of St Vincent de Paul to his congregation.
You will find out that Charity is a heavy burden to carry, heavier than the kettle of soup and the full basket. But you will keep your gentleness and your smile. It is not enough to give soup and bread. This the rich can do. You are the servant of the poor, always smiling and good-humored. They are your masters, terribly sensitive and exacting master you will see. And the uglier and the dirtier they will be, the more unjust and insulting, the more love you must give them. It is only for your love alone that the poor will forgive you the bread you give to them.
The last sentence sums up the reason why no matter the little things we have, no matter the scenario that hinder us from performing the act of charity..... We should never relent in helping our masters, the needy.
A wonderful day to you all. Great Saint...Sublime words...Thanks Rich4God. Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to all. |

Rich4god: Today's meditation..... Words from St Theresa of Calcutta
We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and uncared for is the greatest poverty. We must start in our own homes to remedy this kind of poverty.
In yesterday's meditation, is was said that nothing should hinder us from performing the works of charity. But I was left wondering, what if someone doesn't have the resource to help the needy, how then can he perform the act of charity every day. Today, St Theresa has thrown the option wide open such that even in a state of "nothingness" one still have what it takes to help one another. The smile on your face, the beautiful words that comes out from your mouth, the little things we can do to put a smile on another's face, taking out your time to help a brother/neighbor with his little chores.... The options are truly wide...
We pray today that through the intercession of St Theresa, we may have the zeal and energy to show love to our brethren.....
Morning friends..... Am gonna try and do something here, it's small, but I hope those involved do like it...or at least don't take offence. I'm going to say a prayer for these brethren, Xynerise, johnpaulo, odigiri1983, kaecyy, Handsomecole,Chimannadimele, Vanillaskin, endove, Sunnyside16, and RooseeyO. I hope it brings a ray of goodness in their lives. Dear Lord, i wish to bring these brethren of mine before you, may you meet them at their points of need, create roads in their wilderness where it seem impossible, extinguish every dryness in their lives and transform them into rivers that never run dry, may your promise of mercy be upon them, and may your words of assurance in Is.41:10 be theirs, where you said " Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness". Dearest mother Mary, ever virgin, intercede on our behalf, that these prayers be acceptable before our God. I make this prayers through Christ our Lord. Amen. A splendid day ahead to all. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Why Catholics Pray Through Mary by Syncan(m): 7:51am On Sep 21, 2016 |
9inches: See, you are even helping me to prove how shallow your knowledge of the bible is, let alone the Catholic Church. Now pay attention. If you had a good understanding of the Catholic Church, you would not have left. Maybe you were taught, maybe you weren't; but baseline is you did not understand. You weren't reading your bible and asking questions, and getting the right answers. You were at the right place but doing the wrong thing. Back then, you were neither a good catholic nor a good Christian and some things elude you because of your ignorance. You were like a student who never knew his school has a free bus service and had been spending money on transportation everyday. Only those who were informed enjoy the free ride. They know the time and place to wait for the bus.
Then you left Catholic and became a protestant and probably started reading the bible. But unfortunately, you are at the wrong place trying to do the right thing. You can read the bible, yes, but under the tutelage of those who have warped understanding of the bible. Denomination cannot put you in heaven but it is a big influence for you making heaven.
On infant baptism: If you believe it to be necessary for salvation to first believe in order to be saved, then that means all babies that die in the womb, all children who die before they have the use of reason, and all those adults who are severely mentally challenged would have no possibility of salvation. We do not believe that. We believe that we are only responsible for what we have the ability to do. In other words, we will not be held accountable for what we could not have known or done (see John 15:22).
Baptism is called by St. Paul "the circumcision of Christ" in Col. 2:11-12. As David mentioned, St. Peter, preaching to thousands of Jews who already understood the idea of a family covenant (they circumcised children) specifically said baptism was "for [them] and their children." We have numerous people who came to Christ and the apostles could say to them that not only them but their entire "households" would be saved. And sometimes before they even knew who or how many or how old the members of their household were. That implies children being baptized (see I Corinthians 1:16; Acts 11:14; 16:15; 31). Just as in the Old Covenant with circumcision, in the New Testament parents are commanded to baptize their children and they are responsible to do so.
The thief on the cross is a reminder that we are only responsible for what we can do. He could not be baptized, thus, he could be saved by his desire for Christ. But that does not negate the fact that both faith and baptism are necessary for salvation (see Mark 16:16). If he would have been miraculously brought down from the cross, he would have been required to be baptized. If he refused, he would have been lost.
Faith is essential as well, but only if one had the opportunity to believe. But the point here is the injunctions to believe do not eliminate the possibility of infant baptism. The parents' faith and obedience suffices until the child reaches the age of accountability. Amen Amen. |

Rich4god: Today's meditation....
Words from Pope Francis....
How marvellous it would be if, at the end of the day, each of us could say: today I have performed an act of charity towards another! Help one another always. One another. In this way, by helping one another, we will do some good.
The message is simple. As Christians, it is one of our top priority to help one another. In the time of Christ, He broke the rules of Sabbath day because of an act of charity. This goes to show that, there should be no excuse for barrier that will stop us from helping one another.
Morning friends... Great message. O Lord, may we be able to point at the end of each day, an act of charity performed. Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to all. |
